This three-disc set contains all 22 episodes from the Emmy Award-winning first season of the situation comedy Arrested Development. Each is presented in an anamorphic widescreen transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.78:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include three commentary tracks recorded by series creator Mitchell Hurwitz. He is joined by many of the cast members on one of those commentary tracks. Deleted scenes, original songs by David Schwartz, and footage from a panel discussion on the show held at the Museum of Television & Radio round out this excellent collection from 20th Century Fox.

I don't buy TV show DVD's. But this was an exception that I could not pass by.
Hilarious, though like any show that starts out, the first couple episodes don't feel quite right. An example of this is the enthusiasm in the narrator's (Ron Howard) voice. But I personally did not notice this until I saw this season for the THIRD time. Great writing and character construction. Each season gets better and better. Although you'll have to watch them in order to get its full worth of humor. The cast has been included, and now starring in, many famous shows and movies examples: Superbad, Juno, The Ex, and The Captain(tv) just to name a few. I'm still baffled on how so much talent combined into one show only were given 3 seasons. After watching it, I'm sure you'll agree.
What's great about it: Witty comedy, with over-the-top characters
What's not so great: only three seasons
I would recommend this to a friend!

This release from the acclaimed comedy series Arrested Development includes all 13 episodes of the show's third season, following the troubled Bluth family as their only competent member, Michael, tries to resurrect the family business and reputation.

Last season...

In the third season, they add more celebrities into the mix to try and attract a larger audience. A last ditch attempt at regaining a fourth season. Unfortunately it didn't fly. Ron Howard, cast , and crew did an amazing job with this TV show. It's just too bad that it appears people need a laugh-track / (tell me when to laugh)-track in a sitcom in order for them to consider it funny. Towards the last couple episodes, they poke fun at the ways they are trying to gain ratings and tying up loose ends, making it blatantly obvious to the viewers. I've watched this Golden Globe and Emmy winning series at least 4 times through, and still not sick of it. Highly recommended.

Great writing. Jokes from the first season carry onto the second. Hilarious misguided phrases and stories. Found myself bursting out in laughter on every episode. Hands down recommendation to anyone.
What's great about it: Writing, simple and intelligent humor
What's not so great: Only 3 seasons
