This anime has everything you'd want in a non-action series: great characters with well defined personalities, great progression, edge of your seat moments, well placed comedy and and overall great story. The one thing that really kept me glued to this series was the characters and their struggles with their pasts, the present and each other; it's almost perfect.
First off I'm a big fan of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai and this anime stayed fairly true to the original plot, obviously they added side stories to extend it to 26 episodes. I love how they used future tech within a very rustic world and pulled it off perfectly. The animation is fantastic, with the cg blending perfectly, and the musical score sounds great, but it's the characters that make this anime a must have. You get to know every character, their personal stories aren't elaborated on much but their actions and characteristics define their personalities on a relateable level. So to sum up, the story is great, animation is awesome, and this is a must have for anime lovers and samurai story fans alike.
What's great about it: One of the best samurai series I've seen
I had never heard of this show til this box set came out and G4 did a review saying it's a must have, so I checked it out and found a show I wish I had seen years ago. There are countless references to sci-fi, movie and comic book pop culture, and they work seamlessly with the stories. I love this show and can't think of any comedy that is this funny. The only downside is that it's only 14 episodes, but they are worth every penny.
Once again M. Night Shyamalan tries to do something unique but it only comes off as a boring children's story with characters you never get attached to, who are in a predicament you don't care about. Paul Giamatti was well cast for his role but it doesn't help a failed project.
Joss Whedon attempted to follow up his successful series Buffy the Vampire Slayer with the science fiction-themed Firefly. Although the series failed to garner a mass audience, it did have a loyal following. Those fans will be pleased by this box set that contains every episode of the series that aired, as well as three never-before-seen episodes. All 15 episodes are presented in anamorphic widescreen. English, French, and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. Commentaries are available on four of the episodes. Production featurettes, a blooper reel, and a tour of the set with Whedon round out this solid package that should be of interest to genre enthusiasts as well as Whedon's fans.

Canceling this show was one of Fox's biggest mistakes. This is one of my favorite sci-fi shows ever, not because of visuals or crazy plots lines but because it has a great story and some of the best characters ever on tv. They did follow this up with the movie Serenity to bring some closure but I still would like to see this show come back.
What's great about it: Great characters and stories
I really liked this movie, I'm glad the story picked up after the second movie. The new setting in a bright desert is a huge contrast to the other two movies that were either indoors or outdoors but always in the dark, but it works really well and still keeps the suspense of the other two. They did leave the end of the movie with a possibility of a fourth but honestly I think they've done all they can with this series.
I am a Resident Evil fan even tho I've never played the video games and this movie rocked. The first and the third were better but this is still an awesome action/suspense movie and a must see if your a fan of the first.
What's great about it: Milla in HD with super powers
This movie is one of my favorite movies, it combines a lot of action with the suspense of a zombie film. The story is great, the characters are great and the action and special effects are superb. Definitely a must see for all zombie movie fans and action/suspense movie fans.
I love Robot Chicken and all their spoofs, and this is a collection of some of their best work ever (except Empire on Ice, that was lame). It may only be a half hour long but for 10 bucks it's worth it because you will watch it over and over and over again, and laugh every time.
What's great about it: Best star wars parodies ever
