Analyze This demonstrated once again that Robert De Niro really can do comedy, pairing him with Billy Crystal to great effect in this amusing tale of a Mafia boss and his psychotherapist. Warner's disc is outstanding in every way, and will also go down as something of a landmark in DVD history as the vehicle for De Niro's first ever audio commentary. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen format, and it's a beautiful transfer, with perfect depth and balance throughout. The great jazz numbers on the soundtrack, not forgetting Howard Shore's terrific score, benefit enormously from the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track, which is simply flawless. The extra features on this disc include the original theatrical trailer and a very funny five-minute gag reel. But the real draw is the inclusion of two audio commentaries, one by director Harold Ramis and the other by Crystal and De Niro. The Ramis commentary is certainly the more informative from a technical standpoint, but Crystal and De Niro do provide some nice anecdotes. This is a great DVD with plenty to offer besides the feature, and it should delight fans of this engaging comedy.

This movie just catches me. It's great from beginning to end.
What's great about it: Mixing hardcore mobsters with sympathetic reasoning.
Lewis Black is great in this stand-up. There is really something in it for every political party. He has passed George Carlin as my all time favorite stand-up comedian with Red White and Screwed.
What's great about it: Great commentary on critical issues.
