Ellen Page is an Indie queen

If you are faint of heart or may be under the age of 12 I do not recommend this film. If you happen to be an indie seeker like myself or someone who just enjoys good movies you have to pick up Hard Candy. Ellen Page ,more famous now for her role of Juno, is a powerhouse. She brings intensity to the screen that takes most seasoned vets at least 10-20 movies. She sizzles. The nature of how it was filmed is new and interesting as well. The camera angles make you feel like you are there with Jeff (patrick wilson) on the kitchen table. I don't want to give away too much, just go out and buy it.
What's great about it: acting, filming, direction

Awesome change of pace

Normally I just go out running or sometimes I do sit ups at home or sometimes I'm soo bored with my usual routine I don't do anything. I found out about Carmen Electra's Strip Aerobic DVDs I was watching mtv. I thought it was some joke but then I googled it and it looked kind of interesting. So I bought it and I can't stop talking about it. I'm so in love with it. I've been dancing for about 7 years now and I knew most of the basic moves and what not but I found my friends who had never danced before could do it too. At first glance some of the moves are on the risque side, but it is a striptease video. The point is to make one more confident. Everyone women should give this a try, a great workout and a confidence boost! What more could you ask for?
What's great about it: fun interesting workouts, cool interface
What's not so great: what cons?

Thank God for SuperBad. I feel like my mind has not felt such joy since the day I discovered gummy bears and let me tell you that was a glorious day. SUperBad combines the humor of twelve grade bullies and BS high schoolers. A combination that would scare off most, actually makes me want to be a writer. Its true a movie so good it will change your life. Quick wit is just the half of it, the casting in this movie is awesome. The chemistry between Hill and Cera is like a very alternate life styled marriage. Come on stop reading this go buy it.
One word: McLovin
What's great about it: Beauitful writing, quick wit, college humor
What's not so great: my sides hurt after it was over

Jewel brings back the folk.

When I heard Jewel was releasing a new album my first reaction was "great another razor commercial" but upon hearing it I was singing a different tune, no pun intended. The word play that Jewel hooked us on in Pieces of Me sprang back to life with such track as Again and Again & Good Day (both of which she released as singles). I found Stephenville, TX to bea bit on the wordy side, yes, I realize Jewel likes to chat with us in the middle of her songs but sometimes she just needs to sing. Other then the bunders with track 11, this album is awesome. Recommended for fans of: Brooke Fraser & Sara Bareilles
What's great about it: beautiful lyrics and slow melodies
What's not so great: a little too wordy

Better then expected

If you haven't seen knocked up you need to leave your computer now and go buy it. Like its goofy lead Seth Rogan, not only is this movie funny but it also has a sweet romantic side. I tend to wait until movies are out on DVD before I watch them so I can take them home and have an unbias opinion. When most people go to the movies they're in there with their friends and most of the time you laugh because...well other people are laughing; with all the buzz surrounding this movie I thought it was going to blow. I was seriously surprised by the excellent "real life" writing and on screen chemistry. An awesome feature of the DVD is that you get to see their line-through. They're similar to the "40 Year Old Virgin" "You know how I know you're g**...?" bits. So worth watching!
What's great about it: Quick wit and awesome improve

College Radio gives it two thumbs up!

Do you ever listen to a CD and wonder "why aren't they more famous?". She is one of those girls, Fefe Dobson came on the scene at the wrong time with the right music. Her edgy sound and funky beats were completly parrell to her bubbly rivals. With danable "Rock It Til You Drop It" and slow yet melodic "Julia" you can't go wrong with Dobson's self titled debut. Why are you still reading this? Go buy it!
What's great about it: Great lyrics, monster voice, awesome range, variety
What's not so great: little to no radio play

Something New!

"Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch" was probably one of my favorite CD purcahses. Though I could have done without a bit of the whining Shannt still has a pleasent voice. If you want clever well thought lyrics you're going to get it with this album for example on track 6 "He couldn't find the door in the morning when he found that bed so well in the dark". Its pretty great not only is it clever and fun you can dance to it. So go out now and buy it!
What's great about it: Clever lyrics, infectious beats
What's not so great: whiney-esque voice

Somebody has grown up.

Mandy Moore is back in a big way, gaining a new and fresh audience. When Moore first appeared on the scene she produced a sugary sweet bubble noise that most of us could hardly stand. Now with a fresh take on her career and the world springs Wild Hope. At first glance it appears to be Moore's atempt at the bitter love album but its so much more. Her first single was "Extraordinary" which didn't do so well on the Top 40 but bloomed with college radio listeners. It makes you forget she was the same girl from the "candy" video. And with tear jerkers like "Gardenia" you're sure to keep this one on repeat.
What's great about it: Muture sound, beautiful lyrics, indie sound
What's not so great: some songs fell short

Streep at her best
on October 12, 2007
Posted by: DutchessConverse
Not only is the casting in this movie more then exceptional the acting is amazing. The line pick ups and the on screen chemistry is quite astonishing compared to lack luster book made to movie "Ya-Ya Sisterhood". Streep as most know was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Miranda Priestly.
After the movie is over the bonus features are so fun including a behind the scenes, a look at the making-of and a fall out funny blooper reel. This one is so a keeper.
What's great about it: Great casting, wonderful soundtrack, awesome special features
What's not so great: It doesn't taste good with rye bread.

What is the world coming to?

Not only is "Playing with Fire" the worst CD I've ever listened to I believe it stole some of my IQ points away. Federline's attempt at music fell completly short with this foul excuse for hip hop. The lyrics were poorly written and the beats sounded like they were stolen from a second graders speak and spell...
I have no doubt that he was trying to steal some of his ex-wifeys fame but I guess like their marriage his 15 minutes are done.
What's great about it: It makes for a good coaster
What's not so great: poor lyrics, repeatious beats, generic CD
