A RARE DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH

This largely passed by movie in the video store is one of those movies that come around once in a while. Samuel L. Jackson's performance is probably the best in his career. You won't regret getting this one.

Not sure if this movie was oscar worthy. The movie moves a little slow but the acting is good and you do keep interested in the story. Good movie, but not great.

Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are back in director Tim Hill's computer-animation/live-action hybrid following the further adventures of the world's most adorable singing trio. Songwriter Dave Seville (Jason Lee) has been struggling to gain recognition in the music industry for some time, and despite the fact that his former college roommate (David Cross) is now a high-profile powerbroker at Jett Records, Dave still can't manage to get a break. Things soon start to look up, however, when Dave discovers three singing chipmunks hiding out in the branches of a Christmas tree in Jett Records' world headquarters. Realizing that these woodland crooners cold prove to be his ticket to the big time, Dave does his best to transform Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) into the next great pop sensation. As adorable and talented as they may be, though, these bouncy little critters aren't quite domesticated just yet; they still have a wild streak in them a mile wide, and it isn't long before Dave's life, home, and career are in utter chaos. But staying mad at such lovable little creatures is next to impossible, no matter what kind of mischief they might get into.

Classic Disney animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy penned by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. Though Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once-carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) whose kind compassion helps her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world.

I was surprised by this movie. At first I thought it was going to be boring but it was funny and entertaining to watch. Not too many movies the whole family can enjoy but this is one.

After trial and error and reading review after review I now use only Verbatims. The quality is only matched by Taiyo Yudens (only available at some online retailers) and there are no DVD player compatibility issues. When it comes to the world of blank DVD media, use these and you won't regret it.

Tons of Replay Value

Call of Duty 4 is one of the few titles I own, not because I'm picky about games but once I pass a game I see no use to keep it. This game however offers online play and I have to say it is a must own game. The graphics kick butt. Single player mode is shorter than I would have liked but is rewarding enough. For online play there have been patches to solve problems and introduce new maps so in the future it will only get better.

Breath of fresh air game from all the shooter games out there. The story is good and and gameplay is fast so I guarantee you won't get bored. Eventhough the battles you have with enemies is repetitive in style (duck for cover and shoot) it doesn't get boring. Its like an Indiana Jones thrill ride. Pick it up and have fun.

Worth Every Penny

The first thing that you will notice when starting this game is the music. When a company goes all out to produce an excellent soundtrack, you know quality was the #1 priority. The graphics are amazing and the cinematics will leave your jaw dropped at times. The bosses are original and fun to fight. The puzzles in this game will keep your mind sharp as you have to remember details and places, if you can't than I highly recommend a guide or online walkthrough. I played Devil May Cry 1 but stayed away from 2 and 3 due to its apperent lack of originality from its predecessors but I am so glad I picked this up. Worth every penny.
