Gamma Ray has Win

This is possibly one of the best albums Gamma Ray has. Songs like "Darn" the Machine and Dethrone Tyranny make this album shine like the time polished metal that it is. Gamma Ray is one of the best things to come out of Germany since ever. The only down side I can see on this album is Lake of Tears, not one of Gamma Rays high points. This CD is a the creation of a genius that longs to be heard by all.
What's great about it: Genius lyrics and rockin' songs
What's not so great: Lake of Tears

New Singer?

Annette is a great vocalist and the band is still the same awesomeness as before, but our beloved Tarja is missing. She has "moved on" to other things just in time for their new album. Nightwish is still in its prime and this album proves it. They are back with more symphonic goodness. Marco gets more singing in this album (probably because Tarja got the boot) in the songs The Islander, Master Passion Greed, While Your Lips Are Still Red and Reach, and singing chorus in songs such as Bye Bye Beautiful and 7 Days to the Wolves. All I have to say is too bad Tarja missed their best album since Once.
What's great about it: Good album with great new music
What's not so great: Tarja is gone

Metal + lica = Over 9000

Currently the album with the highest number of albums sold to the number of years released is "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. Experts estimate that when the Black Album is the same age as Dark Side is now it will have passed that mark. Metallica is a great band with a nearly stainless record and the Black Album is another addition to that glorious track record. The Black Album is a combination of all good things Metallica. From their blistering fast songs such as The Struggle Within and Through the Never to the placid and slow paced songs such as Wherever I May Roam and Nothing Else Matters. This CD is possible the greatest CD of its time.
What's great about it: Great album by a great band
What's not so great: Not long enough

This is possible the greatest historical fiction/nonfiction/retelling ever! The battle of Thermopylae is regarded as the greatest battle in history even if it ended in the failure of the Spartans. The Spartans were also regarded as the greatest soldiers the world has ever known even though they lost. The movie is incredibly beautiful and its story telling is mind blowing. Leonidas's 300 warriors and 2800 from other parts for Greece held off the "1000 armies of the Persian Empire!!" which totaled over 2 million men strong. The movie was full of coin-able phrases that we have all probably heard a million times by now. It also had many slow motion sequences and special effects at every turn. Overall the movie is a culmination of all that is awesome in Hollywood and History.
What's great about it: Entertaining and almost historically correct movie about the greatest battle in history
What's not so great: The Spartans lost and they didn't actually kill Xerxes

Favorite Movie X 2 = Awesome!!

Eurotrip is the tale of a boy who gets dumped and tells his HOT German pen pal to stay away form him all in the same day. Did I mention he was drunk for the second one. He then travels to Europe with his best friend to win her back.
Road Trip is the story of a boy who is slightly paranoid and cheats on his girlfriend and makes a video of it and accidentally sends it to his girlfriend because he thinks she is cheating on him, but in fact her grandfather just died. SO, he goes on a Road Trip to get the tape back before his girlfriend finds it.
If these movies don't sound similar they should. Similar plots, similar characters, similar problems, same awesome comedy for the whole family (viewer discretion is advised).
What's great about it: Two of the all time greatest comedies centered around teenage life ever
What's not so great: We dont need no stinking cons

Greatest CD? I think so

This is the greatest CD Blind Guardian has ever done. The last full album with the original band together and they blew their others out of the water. It, as are most of their CD's, ranges from slow to fast, from tranquil to rockin', from peaceful to head-banging goodness. This CD brings joy and pride to Blind Guardian fans everywhere. I only wish more people could be touched by this CD.
What's great about it: Their greatest songs so far; Battlefield, Sadly Sings Destiny, The Soulforged and And Then There Was Silence
What's not so great: Only 10 songs of greatness

Blind Guardian

The interview is a nice touch to this album and gives you a welcomed insiders look at the band. This is the first album that new drummer, Frederik Ehmke, was in and I personally think this was a great opportunity to show how great he is. This album makes it feel like he has been in the band since 1984. The songs on this CD range from slow and tranquil like Skalds and Shadows and Carry the Blessed Home, to the fast and the furious such as The Edge and Fly. Overall this may be their best album since A Night at the Opera.
What's great about it: Strong pieces and several different types of songs make this a stong Blind Guardian album
What's not so great: Only 12 songs
