"Stevie Wonder is a Super Genius!"
on November 30, 2008

I am 13 years old, and here's what I have to say about "Stevie Wonder: Number 1's".
Stevie Wonder first gain recognition in 1963, for releasing "Fingertips, Part 1 & 2", and right there, he became a famous success, two years later (1965), he landed back on the charts, with "Uptight (Everything's Alright)" (other songs from the 1965-1966 period, not included on the album, would be "Hey Love", "A Place in the Sun"), then in 1967, he became extremely popular with the 4-week #1 R&B song, "I Was Made to Love Her" (41 years later, it would be sampled for Jazmine Sullivan, for her song, "Fear" on her debut album, "Fearless"), but this digipak version of Stevie's greatest hits left out two very important #1s: "My Cherie Amour" and "For Once in My Life".
Fast foward to 1970, Stevie Wonder becomes popular with "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours", on the R&B charts at #1, staying there for a total of six weeks. Then, we move to "classic period", where Stevie becomes Motown's Hitmaking Genius, #1 hit songs included from the "classic period albums" are: "Superstition" ("Talking Book"), "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" ("Talking Book"), "Higher Ground" ("Innervisions"), "Living for the City" ("Innervisions"), "You Haven't Done Nothin' ("Fulfillingness' First Finale"), "Boogie on Reggae Woman" ("Fulfillingness' First Finale").
Other #1's included are: "I Wish", "Sir Duke" ("Songs in the Key of Life"), "Send One Your Love" ("Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants"), "Master Blaster (Jammin')" ("Hotter Than July"). Alongside from this, Stevie enters the 1980s, with several #1 R&B hits: "That Girl", and "I Just Called to Say I Love You" (which Stevie Wonder wins the Academy Award for Best Song in 1985). "Part-Time Lover", "Overjoyed", "Skeletons", and "So What the Fuss", the 2005 Adult Contemporary #1.
This album is great, and Stevie Wonder, gives everyone a great joy and a great deal of listening to wonderful record of #1 R&B and Pop hits, throughout his 45-year career as a multiple Grammy Award-winning R&B-soul singer-songwriter, as well as a multi-instrumentalist, and huminitarian.
What's great about it: Great Price, Favorite #1 songs
What's not so great: Exactly Nothing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Malcolm D. Lee's comedy Undercover Brother comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1. Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include commentary from the director as well as from star Eddie Griffin, a blooper reel, an alternate ending, deleted scenes, a music video from Snoop Dogg, and a selection of the original short movies that inspired the feature length film. This is a solid release from Universal.

The 1970s Are Back in This Wild, Great Film!
on November 27, 2008

"Undercover Brother" is the great spoof of 1970s blaxploitation films, ("Shaft", "Black Caesar", "Coffy", etc.) that not only is launched and will be remembered as a "great, cult classic, Black film", but an Intelligent one.
Eddie Griffin ("Meteor Man", "Eddie & Malcolm", "Norbit") plays cool, funky 1970s-style superhero "Undercover Brother", whose mission is to stop the unseen character, "The Man", and his assistant, Mr. Feather (Chris Kattan, "Saturday Night Live") from reversing the clock on "race relations".
These events are witnessed and investigated by The B.R.O.T.H.E.R.H.O.O.D. Squad, such as the leader, "The Chief" (Chi McBride), his protegee "Sistah Girl" (Aunjanue Ellis), highly intelligent, husky "Smart Brother" (Gary Anthony Williams, "The Boondocks", "The Amanda Show"), controversial "Conspiracy Brother" (Dave Chappelle, "The Nutty Professor", "The Dave Chappelle Show", and "Half Baked"), and nerdy white intern, Lance (Neil Patrick Harris, "Doogie Howser, M.D." & "How I Met Your Mother").
Mr. Feather kidnaps and drugs a concern former war hero, General Warren Boutwell (Billy Dee Williams, "Lady Sings the Blues", "Mahogany"), who tries to run for President of the United States. Undercover Brother foils the plan, and Mr. Feather unleashes "B.M.K." (Black Man's Kryptonite), "White She Devil" (Charlie Sheen's love slave, and recently ex-wife, Denise Richards), who turns Undercover Brother into a nerdy "sellout", but Undercover Brother chooses his pride & dignity. Take it from me, I am 13, I say, what I GREAT film!
If it's great for me, Then it's great for you, too!
What's great about it: The 1970s-styled in the 2000s

Look Out!, She Gonna Get a Grammy!

I am 13 (going on 14) years old, and when I was little, I was mostly listening to the music of Michael Jackson, Lauryn Hill, and contemporary R&B artists such as Whitney Houston, Usher, Brandy, Mary J. Blige, etc.
What was great about their music is that they MASTER the effects on every single song, and album they release. Jazmine Sullivan, who I just recently got her debut album two days ago, has great influence in what she sings, from the opening "Bust Your Windows" sounds like a romance-supsense film, to "Need U Bad", hard to believe, but she can sing like a legend. To me, Ms. Sullivan writes songs that come to her mind, and mostly gives the ups and downs of her life.
She is a MASTER. In the 1970s-esque like sampled "My Foolish Heart", It sounds like one of her songs that should top the Billboard Hot 100 every week, in the "One Night Stand" sounds like a Maroon 5-John Legend-Janet Jackson R&B ballad, alongside with "Call Me Guilty", the orchestra-themed "Lions, Tigers & Bears" (taken from the classical line in "The Wizard of Oz"), tells all, and acts like the modest interesting precedessor to "After the Hurricane", which she blows R&B like a Thunderstorm!
"Dream Big" is like a Gwen Stefani type song, but in this, she tells why she made it where she is today. But the most interesting track, and powerful, "Fear" (which in my opinon, samples "I Was Made to Love Her" by Stevie Wonder), I Thought it was Stevie playing the piano when I Heard it, the warm-hearted ballads "Live a Lie" and "In Love with Another Man", the album is Great! and Ms. Sullivan, I Hope you win your Grammy or get nominated five to ten times.
What's great about it: A great debut album that everyone should get!
What's not so great: Nothing

What Can You Say More About Chris Breezy!
on June 29, 2008

Grammy Award nominee R&B/Hip-hop singer Chris Brown makes it his business to continue, and continue with this bad music, if you do not like "Exclusive: The Forever Edition", I strongly recommend you get this album and the DVD! it is very wonderful and outstanding.
Chris Brown was nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 49th Grammy Awards in 2007, and "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration" for "Kiss Kiss" (Featuring T-Pain) in 2008, shows more that he is the new ultra-supreme version of Michael Jackson.
with NE-YO providing the songwriting for R&B/Hip-hop artists out there (Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Beyonce, etc.), Trey Songz singing smoothly as the 2008 version of Smokey Robinson, and J. Holiday telling the entire truth, Chris Brown is there to lay hits on each song, including out of his "Forever Edition album" (a la, Lil' Mama "Shawty Get Loose" with T-Pain, instead of T-Pain using the vocoder, Chris Brown uses it, singing mostly the chorus), a beautiful duet ("No Air" with American Idol Season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks) and an offical cover version of the biggest selling single of 2007 (Rihanna's "Umbrella", to "Cinderella").
I Hope that he could win any award given out there, because without him, the music it is not where it would be!
Chris Brown, this is for you, The 19-year old crooner of R&B/Hip-Hop!
What's great about it: He is the bad man!
What's not so great: The Beginning of 2008 R&B and Hip-Hop

Michael Jackson: "Thriller" 1982-2008
on June 22, 2008

I am 13 years old, and here is my review of "Michael Jackson: Thriller: The 25th Anniversary Edition".
When I saw Michael Jackson for over a decade, i did not know until the mid-late February 2008, that MJ was a big star back in 1982-1984, of course he was a star when he toured with his brothers (Jackie, Marlon, Randy, Jermaine, Tito) (back in 1968-1977, 1980, 1981, 1984) throughout 40 years. with his early singles "ABC", "I Want You Back", "Who's Loving You?", "Rockin' Robin", "Dancin' Machine", "Good Times", etc.
Michael Jackson was the young heartthrob in 1971, where he released his solo album "Got to Be There", The ever-popular Billboard 200 peak his album (my prediction was #27), and he was mostly tutored by Diana Ross (who, critics, fans said they was in "love"?), since then, Michael introduced his dancing talents in 1976, where he and his entire family starred in live TV program, "The Jacksons" (canceled in 1977) and showed some of his acting skills (evident in 1978's "The Wiz").
"Off The Wall" proved that Michael was a quiet, smart, young 21/22-year old R&B singer (the 1979-80 version of "Chris Brown" and "Ne-Yo"), and had 4 #1 singles, including the ballad "She's Out of My Life". Quincy Jones produced the album, and it became a success towards the end of 1979 & 1980.
"Thriller", showcases when MJ was the first African-American to go the White House to receive an Award (May 14, 1984), win eight Grammy Awards on the 26th Anniversary television special on CBS (February 28, 1984), won 11 AMA (American Music Awards, January 27, 1984), and three MTV Video Music Awards (September 1984). "Thriller" was released on 11/30/1982, and became the "BIGGEST SELLING ALBUM of ALL TIME!", no matter what people thought about him, or how he acted in public, MJ was the real deal.
Hit singles from 1982's Grammy-winning masterpiece, "Thriller" (the seven hit singles) started to make him bigger than the new president, a hit movie, a ratings winning TV show, etc.
"P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)", is the most-known, equally notice song on the album, dealing with MJ singing to a cute, sexy, girl in a mid-tempo R&B jam by James Ingram & Quincy Jones.
"The Girl is Mine" was a camp-friendly song with Beatles' member/Grammy-winning Paul McCartney (Jackson also appeared on "The Man" and "Say, Say, Say" with Paul McCartney) when two men fight over a girl, sayng the one could love her a lot more.
"Wanna Be Startin Somethin'" dealt with Jackson in the media, among other techniques and conflicts.
"Beat It" was the homage to "West Side Story" and real-life gangs across the U.S.
"Billie Jean", the biggest-selling single deal with MJ singing about a groupie who fathered her child, and claiming that it was Michael's baby.
"Human Nature" was the moodiest record of all, talking about the beauty in a land or a city.
"Baby Be Mine" was another R&B jam where MJ talk about him and his girlfriend could "share this ectasy as long as we believe in love."
"The Lady in My Life" was an R&B ballad that MJ sung about a girl and him, being together, and talking about the things that most couples would do together, and would not leave each other.
"Thriller" was the memorable record for a quarter century, talking about the zombies, monsters raving at people, and with its memorable hook, followed by an ending with a rap by the late Vincent Price. and the choreography was popular that had Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, Naomi Campbell, Usher, among others watching/talking about the video, and has become a phoneomeon.
The new remixes are the best, my ultimate favorites are: "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) 2008" and "Billie Jean 2008", where Will.i.am and Akon break down into their singing modes.
This album is the great for all ages, i got it, and i can't stop with MJ.! he is my idol for forever!
What's great about it: The 25th Anniversary Celebration

This box set collects all 22 episodes from the first season of the situation comedy 227. Each is presented in the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Supplemental materials include reminiscences from the cast, and a documentary on how the show made it to television. This is a fine set for any fan of the program.

"227" became the "Good Times" and "The Hughleys" of the 1980s, airing on September 14, 1985, on NBC, "227" had starred Emmy-Award nominee Marla Gibbs, who recently shot to fame as Florence Johnston on "The Jeffersons", I am 12 years old, and basically the show had many successful stars: Mary Wilson, Angela Bassett, Kelsey Grammer, Sherman Hemsley, James Avery, The Temptations, Bobby Brown, Kim Fields, Nia Long and many more.
"227" also starred Hal Williams ("Sanford & Son" and "Private Benjamin") as Mary's husband/longtime contractor, Lester, Regina King ("A Thin Line Between Love and Hate", "Daddy Day Care" and "Poetic Justice") as teenaged daughter, Brenda, Helen Martin ("Good Times", "That's My Mama" and "Maude") as busybody Pearl who had a grandson named Calvin (Curtis Baldwin), who Brenda had a crush on. Alaina Reed Hall ("Cindy", and "Sesame Street") arrived to play Rose Lee Holloway, best friend of Mary and Pearl.
Emmy-Award winner, Jackee Harry arrived to play Sexy vamp, Sandra Clark, who was always man-wise and very sexy towards men, this show was anything but average, but it changed the coloring face of television, and NBC aired the program from 1985 until 1990, for five hit seasons
What's great about it: 227
What's not so great: Season 1
