A fixture of stages worldwide since its London premiere over 100 years ago, the timeless tale of Peter Pan once again gets the big-screen treatment in this lavish release from Universal Studios. The film's letterboxed image is presented in 2.40:1 widescreen, so viewers won't miss a fraction of the action as our brave young hero faces off against the villainous Captain Hook. Audio is offered in both closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French Dolby Digital 5.1 with optional Spanish and French subtitles. For those looking for something a bit more from their DVDs, this disc also offers a slew of bonus features that are bound to entertain. After checking out some deleted scenes and an alternate ending in "The Darling House," viewers can "Board the Pirate Ship" and view some behind-the-scenes home movie footage from star Jason Isaacs. "Explore Neverland Forest" takes the adventurous viewer through the enchanted world of fairies, and after exploring the flying school training camp and the mysterious mermaids in "The Black Castle," "Dig into the Home Under the Ground" joins Dutchess Sarah Ferguson as she explores the origins of the story of Peter Pan.

Director Alex Proyas (Dark City, The Crow) helmed this sci-fi thriller inspired by the stories in Isaac Asimov's nine-story anthology of the same name. In the future presented in the film, humans have become exceedingly dependent on robots in their everyday lives. Robots have become more and more advanced, but each one is preprogrammed to always obey humans and to, under no circumstances, ever harm a human. So, when a scientist turns up dead and a humanoid robot is the main suspect, the world is left to wonder if they are as safe around their electronic servants as previously thought. Will Smith stars as Del Spooner, the robot-hating Chicago cop assigned to the murder investigation. Bridget Moynahan, Bruce Greenwood, James Cromwell, and Chi McBride also star.

The zombie-riffic Shaun of the Dead heads to the U.S. DVD shelves with this fine release from Rogue Pictures. Carrying over many (but not all) of the extras from the packed U.K. disc, this release has loads of special features for you to sink your teeth into, plus fantastic transfers to boot. Starting with the technical aspects, the DVD scores points for delivering the 2.35:1 widescreen image of the film, plus a quality Dolby Digital 5.1 track that whooshes you through the fast-paced action and bathes you inside the gore-filled gunfire later on in the film. The extras start with two commentaries -- one from star/co-writer Simon Pegg and director/co-writer Edgar Wright, while the other is a cast commentary featuring Pegg again with Nick Frost, Dylan Moran, Kate Ashfield, and Lucy Davis. The first track features some downright dizzying banter between the two collaborators as they dish out zombie trivia and generally give major love to all involved with the production, while the cast commentary is filled with more zany fun that's sure to please. This edition did miss out on both the Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton commentary found in the U.K. release, along with the classic zombie commentary they included there as well, though hardcore fans will surely seek that edition out if they need it. The rest of the extras are packed with more bloody goodness, starting with the fact-filled "Zomb-O-Meter" subtitle track and "Storyboard Comparions" branching feature. Both extras add a bit more to the viewing experience every time you put the disc in, which is a sure sign of a solid DVD. Other bonus features include 15 extended scenes, ten minutes of outtakes, plus three neat comic-book stories by Oscar Wright (brother of the director) that fill in plot holes in the film -- and this disc has only begun to warm up. Add in a behind-the-scenes video diary, casting tapes, makeup tests, and an SFX comparison that is laid out in an incredibly easy-to-understand fashion that highlights the ingenuity of the film's effects staff. Also included is a highly interesting clip with Pegg and Wright filmed in September of 2001 where they literally go through a flip chart of the film as imagined at that time, complete with dialogue and storyboards. If you think that's all, there's still more to chew on and it's all great stuff, from the extra TV bits that were filmed for the movie all the way though the 2000 AD comic adaptation, included in the zombie gallery section. Those that visited the website will be happy to see the basic design layout repeated here on the menu screens, as will the horror fans out there that will appreciate the George Romero quote on the front of the box. Consistently entertaining with enough extras to shake a zombie at, the Shaun of the Dead DVD is a winner for U.S. audiences and proof that Rogue Pictures is a strong supporter of the film and its fans.

The werewolf vs. vampire actionfest Underworld roars to DVD in a packed release from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment that's sure to please any fan of the gothic, bullet-ridden tale. This Widescreen Special Edition comes with a superb 2.35:1 picture, maintaining the deep blacks and blue hues that worked so well in theaters (a full-screen edition is also available). Sound options are solely relegated to a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, whose layers of atmosphere, music, and sound effects create a fine mix for this extremely loud film. Additionally, two commentary tracks are supplied, the first with director Len Wiseman and writers Danny McBride and Kevin Grevioux, and the second featuring creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos, executive producer/visual effects supervisor James McQuaide, and sound designer Claude Letessier. Both commentaries provide an insane amount of behind-the-scenes information, though each one is about as self-gratifying and pompous as you can get -- especially for a film that is such widely considered as un-groundbreaking as Underworld (though extra points do go to Grevioux for showcasing more of his unearthly deep vocal range for the audience). Filled to the brim with special features, the Featurettes section takes up the most space, as cast and crew alike spew gluttonous amounts of adoration for the film's "originality" and vision through each given clip. This area alone holds almost 45 minutes of footage split between various sections and beginning with the overall making-of documentary (directed by Danny McBride himself), as well as featurettes dedicated to "Creature Effects," "Stunts," along with "Sights and Sounds." The second page of Special Features provides a music video by Finch, storyboard comparisons, two separate TV spots, and a trailers section featuring the original theatrical trailer along with some other bonus horror previews. While the disc is quite stacked in its coverage of the film, the end result tends to leave the viewer rather cold, depending on his or her reaction to the film. If you loved it as much as the filmmakers obviously do, there's no way you could come out happier -- for everyone else, it might seem like a bit of overkill. Gripes aside, though, the disc has a stellar presentation, with flashy animated menus and a fantastic audio/visual transfer that will make your home theater system work for its money.

Inspired by the epic Old English poem of the same name, director Robert Zemeckis's digitally rendered film follows the Scandinavian hero Beowulf (Ray Winstone) as he fights to protect the Danes from a ferocious beast named Grendel (Crispin Glover). Though at first Grendel seems invincible, Beowulf eventually manages to defeat him in a desperate battle to the death. Devastated by her son's violent demise at the hands of Beowulf, Grendel's mother (Angelina Jolie) sets out in search of revenge. Later, Beowulf faces the biggest challenge of his life when he attempts to slay a powerful dragon. Anthony Hopkins, Robin Wright Penn, Alison Lohman, John Malkovich, and Brendan Gleeson co-star in an epic fantasy adventure penned by Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman.

Season 1 of the crime drama begins with forensic anthropologist Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) back in D.C. after months away identifying genocide victims. Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) promptly hijacks her to help him with a case. Brennan initially refuses, but her boss at the Jeffersonian Institute, Dr. Daniel Goodman (Jonathan Adams), insists that part of her job is being lent out to the FBI. She agrees to work with Booth, but only if she can be his partner in all areas of the cases. The first of these cases establishes the premise for the next 21 episodes. After a body surfaces, the remains are transferred to the Jeffersonian, where Brennan and her devoted "squints" leap to action. Brennan's team includes her assistant, the socially inept but brilliant Zack Addy (Eric Millegan); bugs and slime expert Dr. Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne); and her best friend, forensic artist Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin). The main suspect turns out to be a powerful senator, but despite warnings from the FBI to stay away, Brennan continues with her investigation. Throughout the season, Brennan and Booth are devoted to uncovering the truth, repeatedly finding themselves in dangerous situations and relying on each other for backup. Booth eventually confides to Brennan that he wants to bring closure to victims' loved ones to make up for the lives he took in his sniper past. Brennan, meanwhile, is dedicated to identifying the deceased as a result of the mysterious disappearance of her parents years ago. The duo work together to solve crimes involving small-town cannibals, promiscuous private-school teens and a homeless society in an underground tunnel. As each case draws to a close, the bantering pair grow more intimate, a closeness heightened during the season finale, when unearthed bones provide a link to Brennan's past that may reunite her with the family she thought was lost forever.
