Lenovo is "ok", Windows 10 is horrible

First off let me say that Windows 10 is the biggest mistake since the release of Windows Millennium nearly 20 years ago. It freezes, it hangs, lags, and about every other thing you can imagine. So most of the time that's what's to blame for slow/bad computing in most PC's today. Then again, PC makers just don't take the pride and dedication they use to into making these machines. Back when Laptops were built like tanks a little less than 10 years ago.
This PC is very nice to look at, but feels very cheap. The keys are quite good to type on, but the sound is just abysmal, and in 2017 there is no excuse for any laptop not to have at least decent sound. And for companies to quit putting them on the bottom of the unit. The resolution as some have said leaves something to be desired. Not so much that it's just 720p, but it's just very bland. Not colorful at all imo. Also Lenovo are notorious for having finicky trackpads that either respond/or not. And this one is no exception. And the A12 is really only on par with higher end I3's, definitely no I5 here. Hence the price. An APU is nowhere near as good as Intel's I series when it comes to everyday processing. Graphically yeah you can play "older" games at low/to medium settings. But this is NOT a gaming machine. You won't run the latest and great games on it. Even on low settings. I think people are mislead. Overall it is an ok computer. I purchased it for my mother to use, but I've used it a bit as well and those are my thoughts. You're really not going to find anything that just runs blazing fast on Windows 10, even though you can disable "updates" I won't disclose how. I'm satisfied with my 2014, 17.3 HP with Windows 8.1. And would love to fine another. But they cost a fortune because they are so sought after now. And Windows 10 is only getting worse, as PC's continue to use slower hardware. Which I have no idea why. So decent built, decent speed, with poor sound and a mediocre screen. that about sums it up. Also Lenovo are not really known for high reliability. Then again these days, what is?

Very Good Laptop

I had been looking for one of these for quite a long time because for one I like Asus. Mainly because they do very little outsourcing, and make about 90% of their own parts. They also manufacture parts for the biggest part of computers on the market today. Motherboards, graphics cards (for desktops), DVD drives, RAM etc. Also I love the MacBook appearance that this has. And it really is built very well, without being overly heavy, though it is bulky. But that makes it feel a lot less cheap than the materials used. The brushed silver aluminum is great, and doesn't show fingerprints at all. And looks very professional. Other Pros and Cons
Pros
-Great keyboard, although the keys are thick and raised up pretty high, they are very responsive, and that's what I'm typing this review on.
- DVD Drive for this price point is great, just in case
- Bluetooth 4.0, 1 3.0 USB port, 1 2.0 port for fast or basic transfers. A VGA hookup (which is extremely rare on computers today).
- Great sounding speakers, with just enough umph to have some bass without sounding tiny. Also using the blue tooth sounds great.
- The Pentium 1.6ghz processor is a Quad Core not a Dual Core like some reviews have said. No it's not the fastest, but it gets the job done for basics. Actually really zippy/snappy.
- Screen is nice and bright, also dims itself instead of just going to a screen saver.
- USB sleep charging. (charge any device while the PC is in sleep mode).
- Track Pad has been improved a lot, very soft, good finger gesture movements. Also a key to turn it off. Unlike HP. Who have never had that option. And no full size HP's at this price will have Bluetooth, and many not even a DVD drive either. Also many don't come with a full HDD like this one. Which of course is 500gb. I use external storage a lot, so this isn't any issue, and I also own two other more "powerful" computers.
- Computer barely even runs warm, NEVER gets hot at all.
- Boots up fast
CONS-Not many
- Fan can be a little loud, with a slight buzz, but really only if your in a room where you can hear a pin drop. With no other noise.
- Computer runs well, but under heavy load you will notice it slow down. Then again it's not made for heavy video editing, or heavy gaming.
- Webcam (as with most) is very mediocre. VGA only. Also SD card slot is full size, but the card doesn't click in. Minor issue.
- While using Bluetooth it will interfere somewhat with your wireless internet connection. Just slightly slow it down. Which is normal at times.
So other than that I higher recommend this computer for anyone wanting a good basic computer for everyday use. Work, travel, school and what not. Asus is also right under Apple for reliability, which is great. I don't think they've ever been rated below 3 or 4. Much better than Dell or HP. And for 279$ you're just not going to get this much PC for that price. Especially with everything you get. ;o) Enjoy.

Better Than The Sony I Took Back (Twice)
on June 30, 2017

from fairmont wv
Surprised? As was I..!! The first Sony I purchased had a bad port where the adapter goes up into the TV, which was very annoying. And at times would just fall out..since it was defying gravity. The second one was fine until about 3 days after I purchased it. A red line was running vertically on the left side of the TV...I actually had to go up and tap the TV in order to get it to go away. So then a week went by and it had 3 horizontal green lines going across the bottom. Bad panel? Yep. I've had a Vizio for 8 years and have never had a single issue with it. So I decided to stay simple.
Saw this on sale for 219$ and thought, why not? Pretty stellar reviews, and Sharp I think have always been a bit underrated. Well I was right, got this home, hooked it up, and no problems. Tweaked the TV to my liking, just like the Vizio and the picture looks great. I have a 360, XB1 and PS4 and I can hook them all up at the same time because this unit has 3 HDMI ports, not 2, like the Sony did. Also the Sony needed constant adjusting to get a decent picture. And even after that it was clear, but the colors were just to painted, and processed looking. Not natural at all, no matter how you adjusted it. Also it had the worst viewing angle of any TV I've ever seen.
The Sharp is basic and that's just what I needed, good (accurate) natural colors, and single button for Game Mode which is great!! And overall the TV is just built much better. Doesn't feel flimsy at all. Also no smart features (or a motherboard) inside like all the new tech today for it to "go bad". Half the reason people have so many problems today is because they put way to much technology in televisions today. A lot of people just want to watch it, plug and play etc. If you want no frills with a great picture for a cheap price, definitely get this. I review a lot of electronics, and I would never steer someone in the wrong direction. Or to get something I wouldn't purchase myself. So get this before they're gone. Great TV!

Bought this TV on a whim because of the price, well you get what you pay for. I have a PS4, XB1 for 4K, and an old 360. I appreciate all the ports it has and the picture isn't half bad. But isn't that great either, and the 4K really isn't nearly as sharp as on higher end or even mid range TV's. Sure it looks ok, but it's limited. It does NOT upscale any 480p, or 720p content, by using the TV only. So unless you have something like an Xbox One, you won't notice any increase in the quality of the picture. And even with the upscaling through the XB1, it's not that impressive. Mostly in the clarity, and color department. And really, what else is there when it comes to picture quality?
Sound is decent, nothing great. Remote, and menu options are probably the nicest thing about it. Very nice and well built, the TV itself, feels very cheap. And if you look at the price, well it is. So don't expect any great 4K experience. Also this tv does NOT support HDR10. I decided to take it back and get the Sony 49 inch for just 100$ more and just the regular 1080p picture on it, blows the 4K picture on this Toshiba out of the water. I use to love Toshiba computers, but their TV's not so much. So know what your buying before you make this leap. Is it terrible, no, not at all. Is it great? No, far from it. Is it, average, yes, very.

Faster and Better than it seems.

When I was toying around with the smaller netbook type laptops in the store, this was/is by far the fastest. I've been using and working on laptops for a long time, and I was pretty blown away actually. Of course the guys there were totally discouraging me from it, which I don't like. I buy what I want, and what I like, I don't mind opinions, but not someone blatantly telling me to stay away from something. So after fooling with it. I showed one of the "techy guys" what this thing could do.
I opened up Microsoft Edge, a 1080p Youtube Video was playing, opened up Media player, playing a song that was on the pc, then opened the camera (which worked great, and tried one more page with heavy ads and a video. Yes the CPU went from 70% to 100% but this was with ALL of that open. And it didn't freeze nor lag at ALL. Needless to say i was impressed and so was he. He actually said wow that's really surprising it could do all of that at once. Especially with 1.86gigs of usable memory. So i picked it up and wow it's still great. Great track pad, blue tooth works great, very clear crisp screen, great a/c wireless etc. Speakers are on the low side but really who buys something like this for killer sound? So this thing is a little multitasking beast, Now for programs, and heavy stuff I highly doubt it. Also it's fanless, so no sound. has 2 3.0 USB ports, full HDMI and SD card for memory expansion. So for the price i got it (114$ plus tax) oh yeah, I highly recommend this. Great product!!

It's ok for budget 4K
on November 5, 2016
Posted by: jermus
from fairmont wv
Just to clarify there is no budget 4K that's really going to just wow you out of your seat. Yeah it looks slightly clearer/more crisp. But you really can't take advantage of Native 4K, unless you get a set that is above at least 55 inches. The picture doesn't stretch hardly at all on a small TV like this one. But yes it will look nice. And the upscaling is pretty good as well. Most movies you may see a slight difference, if it's a UHD (Disc) or an actual 4K program. Not upscaled. Upscaling can "improve" the picture somewhat, but it won't be anything a good 1080p can't do.
Also there is one above this for just a little more money. The 6300 for 399$. It's slightly better as I've seen my cousins, who is an avid gamer. And for gamers wanting actual HDR 10, mainly from an Xbox One S or PS4 Pro, this isn't going to cut it. It actually will make the picture look worse in some cases. And darken it a lot. Even with Netflix content. So make sure you talk to a BB Home Theater expert to get the one that's right for you. I got this for my son (for college) because it's cheap, and does support 4K. And he does game a bit.
But for those wanting the "real deal". you'll have to pay over the 1000$ mark to get the most incredible experience you can get. But for 99% of the population, this is a good introduction to what 4K is all about. Even though it won't be close to the "norm". until about 2020 (at least). So yes it's a good deal for ordinary, average TV watchers who want to see movies upscaled. Or DO own a UHD player. Great price, decent colors, and fairly reliable. From what i know. Though I have a 7 year old Vizio I paid 500$ for back in 2009. Which was a top tier TV back then, and obviously still is, given it's life span. And the gorgeous picture it still puts out.
So when it goes I'll get something. 4K?? Maybe, maybe not. It will have to match what I have now. And the last 4K I tried. Samsungs 6300 55 Inch, just did not impress me that much. So I returned it. Because it was cheaply made, and still a budget 4K TV. And the picture wasn't all that impressive. Also because 4K content is so scarce, still. But if you need a new TV have at it. I don't need one yet, so I'm content. Enjoy!! It is a good price. Just don't expect, visual miracles.

Very good, Asus are very reliable.

I've worked on computers since the 90's, I first started noticing lots of Asus motherboards, graphics cards etc. later on. So then I found out they made their own parts for their pc's. Which is great. About the only 3rd party part you'll get is the HDD. Other than that it's all Asus. They rate number 3 now, and have always been good. As of 2016, they rate right under Apple and Dell, although I still don't like Dell products.
This is just right for web surfing, downloading, watching movies, yes even 1080p mkv files, no lag. And is a full on laptop to boot. Not just a little underpowered type of netbook. The Pentium Quad Core is great, and can compare with many "budget" i3 processors, since it uses 4 actual cores, instead of just a dual core (with hyperthreading). Also every PC I've ever used with windows 10, even my gaming rig is slower. It's just a resource hog, so you have to get use to it.
When you get a PC like this with lots of bloatware, go under your control panel and delete what you don't need. Which would be anything Avast, or Macafee, since it has Windows Defender built in, which is stellar for catching any type of malware. And Windows 10 is very secure in itself. Also, get rid of Dropbox, and Asus Online Storage since it ends up costing in the long run anyway. Once you do this restart the PC, and it will run MUCH MUCH faster. This one did, for sure. But remember it's constantly updating, even small things, everyday. And since it's the last version of Windows ever to be made, it will continue to do so.
This thing is great, very Macbook looking, though cheaper feeling, mainly the keys, and hollow body. But still a nice solid/decent feel. All laptops today feel this way to be honest. Speakers a LOUD, overly so. But sound great for music and movies. DVD burner is a plus, in case people still need it. Doesn't run hot, but the fan can be a little loud. Which isn't a bad thing.
So that's about it, Asus are a great brand, and most people who have issues don't realize its the software, NOT the PC itself. Not to say it never is, but it's rare. Especially freezes, black screens etc. Have to do with driver updates etc. So just be patient with it, don't expect it to fly right out of the box, give it time to break itself in. You won't be disappointed. My 2 year old 17.3 HP keys went out about 6 months after I had it. I still use it hooked up to my big TV, but that gets old. About 6 keys or so bit the dust, and 2 just came off.So I recommend steering clear of them. They dropped from like 2 down to 8. So I would stick with this or if you must Dell. And Lenovo are good as well.
So tech savy, computer engineer here sighing off. Hope this helps(ed). Thanks.

A Great Swan Song For Uncharted-40 Year Old Gamer
on May 10, 2016
Posted by: jermus
from fairmont wv
I preordered this game about a month ago, seeing as I liked playing the last 3 games and found them to be pretty enjoyable. I remembering seeing Drakes Fortune back when it was coming out in 2007, I was pretty stoked back then. I was going on 32, now I'm 40. So no this isn't some child reviewing the game after just playing a little and spouting out a few words. So I played the first and though, yeah it's not bad.. I liked 2 a little better and 3 even better than that I think because of it's shorter length, and the fact you play as a team. Yes I know many favor 2, and will think I'm insane, but that's what I felt about them. Also I liked the Jason Stathamesct'/Charlie Cutter character a lot. Well other than the beautiful scenery, and incredible character models not a lot has changed here. It's the same old Drake being drawn out of retirement after being married to the games blonde sweetheart Elena. Now he's fishing out old cargo from the bottom of the rivers. playing with toy guns and shooting at cardboard cutouts attached to string. And playing Crash Bandicoot, for more fun. Though his longing for adventure continues in his head.
I think most have played it, and/or watched Twitch and Youtube videos, so some spoilers aren't going to kill anything. After his brother Sam takes off in the beginning, you are thrown into a prison fight scene. This shows off the much improved controls (somewhat), and the many quicktime events that you'll be using through the game. A tutorial of sorts. Then you get a little practice for climbing, when one of the guards let's you out. You go to an old castle, where you find an old Crucifix. After this the game goes kind of slow. The only real "shooting" action being the short boat scene I forgot to mention(at the beginning) with very little gunplay, and then you play as Sam when he returns to tell you why he's been "playing dead" for the last 15 years. That's about as far as I'll go with the story.
Speaking of gunplay, you have the option to turn autolock on/or off. For new players I recommend on, since aiming, and shooting were never Uncharteds strong suit. Though in general as I said it has improved. Later in the game guys are as many say "bullet sponges" and do take a little more time to kill, unless you land that great head shot. Which is fairly easy. So instead of going through the whole game piece by piece, I'll just list, what I think are the strengths and weaknesses. Instead of pros and cons. Which is really one and the same.
STRENGHS
- Amazing graphics, though in some areas, especially scene one they seem slightly downgraded, compared to some of the other beautiful landscapes. I still think Ryse Son Of Rome (Crytek are still graphical masters), The Order 1886, Rise Of The Tomb Raider (a favorite of mine), Rachet and Clank, Assassins Creed Unity (yeah bad but beautiful), and Quantum Break still stack up pretty nicely against this. Though things here may be slightly more crisp, as Naughty Dog has had PLENTY of years to get it right.
-The action motion capture cutscenes look amazing, not just prerendered and recorded as in the past. The only thing I've seen as good are the games mentioned above. Especially The Order, and Rise Of The TR. Uncharted takes the cake on this one though. Facial muscles, sweat, clothing effects etc. All look great
- I think the length is just right, I skipped a few movie parts because I got the gist of them, so it clocked in at about 11 hours or so for me, that's on easy. But I really have no interest in playing through the game again. Maybe in another 6 months? Definitely didn't buy it for multiplayer, as most wouldn't. And the fact mines digital, I can go back whenever I like.
- The new stealth feature, and being able to "see/sense" you're enemies around you (outlined in yellow) is a welcome change here. Borrowed heavily from Assassins Creed Black Flag. Which is great.
WEAKNESSES
- Gunplay, and combat while improved still aren't really as smooth as I thought they would be. But some amazing physics are used during battle that make it very cool. So this is only somewhat of a weakness. The main thing is I don't think there is enough fighting, not nearly as much as the first two games. Though I think Naughty Dog were going for a more movie like presentation here, than just a sandbox shooter.
- Very little exploration. Compared to RIse Of The TR (Yes I know it's a sin to mention the "RIVAL"), but this game is actually pretty linear, and it's very easy to figure out where to go. And the puzzles are basically just trial and error. Nothing that you will need a guide for, or to look up on youtube. In previous games I got stuck in certain areas, in this one, not once. NOTE-This is NOT an open world game. It has set pieces, and while it's bigger than the games before it, don't think you'll be playing The Witcher 3 or Just Cause 2/3 here. Though that would have been great. But it's not that type of game.
- No upgrade system, something Uncharted has never had. Still picking up random weapons, throwing them down, and grabbing ammo. Though it's done much better this time around. Not nearly as clumsy as the first 3.
- There is a bit of screen tearing, even with the patch. My version was a pre-ordered digital download. Which clocked in at about 48 gigs or so. Though I have a 50mb connection with 150mb blast, so this wasn't an issue (speed wise). Also the motion blur is pretty intense, I didn't really mind it in most cases, but in some areas it's a bit distracting. Only a few small areas of lag. Which is great for a game with this much graphical prowess.
- The Story is good, not great. Helping Nathan's brother Sam get an ancient Pirate Treasure to save his live while clever, isn't really that original. At it's core it's the characters, how they feel about each other, the task at hand, and the reactions they have are really amazing. So in some ways you may be reminded of Heavy Rain and Until Dawn, with much more action and adventure. But still a lot of triangles and circles popping up on the screen. I would say this is in between a weakness and a strength.
So is the game good? Yes of course, it's Uncharted. Is it GOTY material, no. Though it may get it because of all the stellar reviews, and the fact most of the great games seem to be coming out in 2017. I think Naughty Dog have made one of the best sequels you'll ever get. Though I thought the end of the third was it. And never expected it to continue. Since I'm a casual gamer anyway, I wasn't concerned. Casual meaning I only usually play games I think/or know I'll like, and don't try out many new franchise. Though I have tried a few this gen. So yes the game is fun, and it's probably the best in the series because of it's eye candy. And the controls are much better this time around. I just think it lacks the classic feel the other games had. The Train Scene is unparallelled, along with a few others, like the escape sequence in 3. Where Drake and Sully are escaping the burning old burning mansion as it collapses around them. The intense sequences in this game are good, but to me not that memorable. I guess because I was kind of expecting it after all these years. The Clock Tower area is by far the best in this game.
I know my review seems long winded, but this is just what I took in from playing through the game. And about the only other Exclusive I was looking forward to. I think Gears 4 is about the only other one, since I'm older, I just don't have the time or patience, to sit through a lot of games. But this was worth it. Though it has it's flaws it's still a good game. As some folks mentioned, yes there is a LOT of climbing, maybe a bit to much in some aspects. But using the new rope/hook is actually very easy, and pretty fun. All of these games owe/pay homage to Indiana Jones, from back in the day. For those who never played it back in 2003, if you can find it, play Indiana Jones And The Emperors Tomb, still a great game. That holds true to the movies. Though you'll scouf at dated graphics, it's still a blast. So for all players of Uncharted, enjoy. For the new players you may want to go back and revisit, or replay the other games to get the maximum enjoyment of this one. Hats off to Naughty Dog, they did a great job here. But I'd still like another Crash Bandicoot to be honest. I think many would agree with me. I love these types of games, but I also love old school. Rachet and Clank were ok for me, but never really my style. And well personally, I didn't care for The Last Of Us. So goodbye Uncharted. It's been a fun ride. And let's hope Naughty Dog has some new fresh franchise up it's sleeve, for the future.
NOTE:I give it a 3.5, though Best Buy won't seem to ever let us do halves. Also be respectful, and don't troll a 40 year old guy. Especially you kids who have nothing better to do than sit and criticize people for not praising it like the second coming of The Lord. Or who have never even played it. It's just a game, remember that. Thanks.

After working on computers for many years, I have built and repaired many. A lot of people don't know before Asus were really big into laptops they did/and still do make "parts" for computers. Also a lot of people know them for their high end gaming laptops. This is as basic as you can find, but for the price, (199$) on sale you can't beat it.
All the small type, "netbook" computers at this price range lack the extra two gigs of ram. This also has a DVD/CD writer/burner/ and a 500gb HDD. Something else the HP Stream, Acer Cloudbook, among others lack. Especially just having small amounts of flash memory. So while this may have the same basic Celeron Dual Core processor. It's no nearly the slouch of the fore mentioned. Nor is it nearly as bad as most AMD's at the mid 200$ price range.
Intel's chips (even slower models) are always better. Also Windows 10 is a HUGE resource hog, and is always usually doing some type of update in the background. Also uninstalling Macafee is a must, since Windows Defender (built in under your Control Panel), is really all the protection you need. The screen is decent, not the brightest, but adequate. The speakers are great, very loud with a lot of bass. And the keyboard is good, not necessarily high end, but good separation and response from the "chicklet" keys themselves. Which I like a lot.
On one last note, Asus is an extremely reliable brand, as I stated above because they manufacture their own motherboards, HDDs, RAM etc. Which is great. Very little 3rd party parts found (if any). Also every brand has their basic/budget/lower end laptops. But this I've found is one of the best. Yes it sounds a bit hollow while typing, and the build isn't super solid. But all laptops are made of pure plastic materials anyway. So it shouldn't have to have a sticker saying handle with care. So basically that's it. Decent speed for browsing, facebook, music, netflix, MS Office, very light games etc. Also the speed of your internet and the browser you're using has a great effect on performance. Expect a little lag though no matter what, since it's an energy efficient machine. Other pluses, track pad OFF button, full size keyboard, USB 3.0/and 2.0, card reader in the front, HDMI. So I can't really see anyone complaining about this machine. Unless you get a lemon. Btw, my so called "reliable" HP, that's about a year and a half old. Well, about 7 keys went bad only 6 months after I purchased it. Keyboard would cost more to replace than I paid for it. So now it's hooked up to my LED tv, where i use it for higher end tasks. Much like a desktop (with an external) keyboard. Technically it's not a notebook anymore. So that's why I bought this. Hard to sit a notebook on your lap, and have to use a separate keyboard. So don't let prices fool you folks. This ones a keeper, unless I jinx it by this review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this for my son, and insisted that he really wouldn't like this game, but he had saved his money, and I met him half way. He's always enjoyed mine, though I don't play it much anymore. But he didn't play games like this before, mostly just Halo, Forza, Titanfall etc. Though he just thought it looked really cool. As I read reviews it's a love or hate title. And he's 17, so I thought, well it's ok. I offered to give him mine for a fraction of the price, but as kids go, he wouldn't listen. Bought the console, got it home, popped it out of the box. He was very psyched that is was white. So I thought maybe I had eaten my words and felt a little bad. Upon hooking it up, it was a bit slower than I remember in the updating process when I got mine.
So finally after it finished, we went to make an account for my son, which took forever, because almost everything was taken that we made up. And he couldn't even remember his password for the 360, and didn't like the name (email) on it anyway. So we took some strange name they gave him. Now it's written down, and I'm hoping he doesn't lose it. I have a 1TB drive with some games on it, so I plugged it in for him to use under my name. Well, at first it wouldn't recognize the External HDD, so I plugged it into mine and it was fine. So he went ahead with the game which is over 121gb when you install the movies as well. By this time I could see him getting more and more aggravated. So sure enough after about 2 hours of game play, he asked me why he couldn't skip the cutscenes. I said that's the type of game it is, So the movie is a package deal. About another 20 minutes after that he said, Dad, I'm sorry but I really hate this game!!!
I asked if he wanted to keep it, after we had to restore the system to default settings (again) to get it to recognize my HDD. He said no not really. He actually said and I quote "I really just like my old 360 better". Which was a total shock. I said ok it's your money. Took back the system, now he's aiming for a PS4 later one, when DOOM comes out. So I guess we'll see what happens. Overall the system is still slow, glitchy, takes for ever to install, and even read some discs. And just overall isn't a "great" console. 2 stars on here means fair. And that's just what it is, I'll probably end up selling mine to gamestop, and probably giving my son the store credit. Since I really don't game anymore. And he can get his PS4. Which from what I've seen, my daugthers boyfriend claims it's the holy grail of gaming. Lets hope so.
Lesson learned for me. If you know something about games, please at all costs, try to reason with your teen. And don't let them decide if they like it or not. Or you'll be returning a lot of games. IMO. :)

good overall PSU...

I was in the market of upgradeing my PSU and find this, "ThemalTake TR2 600w". The price was good and I take the change of getting unit seeing not many people recommend thermaltake. when i install into my pc, which is easy and turn on my computer and it's run cooler and quite. one thing that I hepe is the it's last long as my old cooler master 500 watt power supply.

I like this power supply too. However power supplies do not help cool your PC. They keep your graphics card from bottle necking, along with your PC motherboard, and makes heavy work loads easier. Also it does NOT make your computer run faster as people state. That's all just psychological. A power supply does simply what it states, gives you more power for your system to feed off of. And some run more efficiently. Even if it is more wattage. Get liquid cooling from your store if you want cooler temps. :o)

Like Xbox One, but hard drive isn't big enough
By XboxOneLover
I traded in my Xbox 360 and I bought the Xbox One. The graphics on the Xbox One are amazing! The new interface on the Xbox One is much harder to get used to, however, since it is similar to Windows 8. I would caution everyone about needing more hard drive space soon after purchase. Even if you buy the retail disc for a game, it installs on the hard drive. Many games have huge installs (like 50GB) and then big update files. It won't take long before I have to buy an external hard drive, because I will run out of space. Also, for anyone who has slow internet or an internet data cap, if you buy a console bundle like I did that came with free games that you only get an online code for (no physical disc), I found a quick way to install them. Through searching the Internet I learned that you can borrow someone's physical disc or borrow it from a local library, turn your internet off, install the game from the disc, and then turn your internet back on. When you remove the disc to play the game, it will ask you if you own the game, and you can put in the online code for the game that came with your console. That way you don't have to download a huge install file. I tried this with Black Flag, which came with my console, and it worked. It saved me days of downloading the file. This only works if you have an online code for the game; you cannot play the game after you remove the disc if you don't have the code.

Get a 1TB or 500GB External HDD. Under apps search/ look for Media Player Preview. Xbox One now recognizes NTFS format HDD's. You can play your music, MP4, wmv, AVI movies formats etc. Also if you want you can format it to downoad your digital games onto. I have an extra 1TB for mine. Words GREAT!!

Promptly returned this
By Dorenzia from San Antonio, TX
I purchased this flash drive because I needed to move several large files to and from several computers at work. I have an external hard drive but it is for my personal computer files and I didn't want to have to take it to work.
So on Easter Sunday when I saw this flash drive was on sale, I thought it would be the perfect solution. However, when I took it to work and attempted to add files to the flash drive I got an error message informing me that the disk was full. But there was nothing on it...
I did some internet research about this issue and found that this was a common problem. One site recommended formatting the flash drive so I tried it and was able to save my information.
Then I took the flash drive to another computer to print out the saved data and was unable to open my saved files.
This product is not dependable at all and I returned it.

You can get a 500gb or 1tb for close to this price. I have 4 32gig Flash Drives with all my music, for barely 50bucks. They work great on my MSynce in my Escape, I don't like having it all on one drive anyway. To hard to scan through all of the titles. People are to lazy just to switch from one to another I think. pfft.

You can't format these hard drives to use anything but Windows 8. The system BIOS won't let you, now in some cases if you have windows 8 Pro you can (although rarely successful without driver issues). But especially with BB computers it can't be done. Don't listen to this person, Windows 8 is fine, uses less memory and comes up a lot faster than 7. Which was fine for it's time. You don't have to use tabs, just go straight to your desktop and use it like 7. Just without a start button. Also with Windows 8 it's nearly impossible to get a virus, with all the updates available.

Good Buy When Its On Sale
By scotchmsst
I bought this the day it came out online, it was 849 but i was a little skeptical because it was a brand new item, was $200 off, and their was very little info on it on the web, but for the price point this seemed like a steal, and it was.
My experience with it so far is great, the feel of the computer is great, i mainly play LoL and the only issue i encountered was that i was by default using the integrated graphics from the processor instead of the video card, it was fine since League isnt a hungry game, but when i had the laptop unplugged the frames would drop from 100+ to 30 flat, after adjusting it so it uses the actual 960 v-card, i get 200+ frames. This laptop wont run new gen games at max settings, but consoles dont either. Its possible to get 60+ fps on new gen games with some tweaking on game settings.Havent had any heating issues either.
My main con on the laptop is the 5400 rpm hard drive, i was so use to the ssd on my smaller laptop, but to be completely honest i dont think its a deal breaker, but if you really want an ssd you can upgrade this laptop by replacing the HDD.
The 8gb of ram is more than fine for me at the moment, but it is expandable upto 16gb. The screen is a a matte finish, which is kinda expected off a gaming laptop
To conclude, if youre looking for a casual gaming laptop, and know how to upgrade this is an awesome buy, but if its not on sale id suggest looking at the MSI GE62 APACHE-276 , normal price for it is 999.99 but you get a 5th gen i7 quad, 12gb ram, same gpu 960 (2gb of vram) and a 7200 rpm HDD.

Even on high setting it runs battlefront at over 40fps FULL 1080p, Just Cause 3 Full 1080p near 40, at 900p over 70fps. That's way beyond Next Gen. HA At nearly 800p it also runs Fallout 4 at 57fps, that's just amazing. Especially for the price. Check out many other games here.

Third Time Is The Charm
By Marlaur
The Toshiba 49 is beyond my expectations. This is the 3rd TV I purchased in the last few days to replace my dead Samsung 40 LCD.
1. Samsung UN48J5200-- Terrible sound quality.
2. Sony KDL48W600B-- Poor picture and worse sound than the Samsung.
The Toshiba out performs both of these in picture quality and the TV actually has decent sound, so no sound bar is needed. This is a bedroom TV, so it was critical to not need a secondary sound system. The Toshiba does not sound tinny and hollow like the other 2, and actually has some bass. I still would not call the sound rich, but it is not painful to listen to at low volumes like the disappointing Samsung and Sony.
The picture quality is good, dramatically better than the Sony and close to the Samsung and the TV costs $150.00 less.
Great job Toshiba on making a quality product at a fair price!

Sorry but you must not have had your Sony or Samsung calibrated right for optimum picture quality. There is not way a budget TV at this price can come close to those to brands especially when it comes to that and reliability. Give it another month and I assure you it will be problematic. Toshiba use to be great, they have went clear to the bottom as of the lasts 7 years or so. Try Sharp, it's even better than this one. My parents tried to of these one had faulty HDMI ports, the other had the most horrendous picture I've ever seen on any HDTV, period. And that was running through a ROKU on Netflix. Sorry not trying to sound like a bad guy, but your review is very misleading.

No the AMD series even though semi-speedy are no I5 or even i7, which is what you'll definitely need. Spend a little more and get one of those. If you notice all AMD series processors are very cheap in PC's. That's why. Also some are just to slow to even use for everyday tasks.
