Great Replacement Speaker
on July 29, 2016

If the built-in speakers on your TV don't sound very good, this is a great replacement. Basically it's on par and perhaps a bit better than the speakers that were used in older flat screen TV's before they started making them so slim. It has decent volume, bass, and overall fidelity but not comparable to the higher priced speaker bars that are available. When purchased for the right purpose, definitely a good buy.

A Good Bag For DSLR & Some Essentials
on January 11, 2015

I own several Lowepro bags and all are excellent quality. The "Format 160" can hold a Nikon D7000 body (a fairly large DSLR) with an 18-140mm lens attached plus, a 50-300mm lens, a Nikon external flash, 2 camera batteries and charger, some video and USB cables, a few filters and lens caps, and other small items such as memory cards and the like. Of course depending on how much you want to carry you may need to experiment a bit with placement of your items. So all things considered, not bad for a fairly compact bag! If you need more space, Lowepro makes dozens of bags in all shapes and sizes. I also like Case Logic's products, particularly the "SLRC 203" which holds a lot more gear and includes a quick-release tripod fastener.

Among The Very Best DSLR's
on January 10, 2015

I'll keep it brief! What more can I say (that hasn't already been said) about this incredible camera? Without question the D7000 delivers stunning photos. Having used various other DSLR's and bridge cameras over the years I must say I was absolutely amazed at the results of my first shoot with the D7000! No A/B comparison was necessary as the image quality virtually leaps off the screen! Exposure and metering modes are top notch in terms of speed, accuracy and consistency. Autofocus is super-fast (even in low light) with enough options to suit literally any situation and the viewfinder is crystal clear and bright. As far as ergonomics go, the cameras has an excellent feel. That said, it's bigger and heavier than most beginner or mid-range DSLR's. The feel is definitely "professional". If you're looking for something light and compact the D7000 might not be what you want. The controls (including menu settings) are quite intuitive especially for a camera with so many manual options. That said, if you want to get the most from this camera it makes sense to invest a few dollars in a good 3rd party manual such as "Mastering The Nikon D7000" (by Darrell Young) or "Nikon D7000 For Dummies" (by Julie Adair King). These and other guides are available in large paperback or kindle format and are really helpful in explaining (and illustrating) the advanced capabilities of the D7000 in a user-friendly, application related way. Don't get me wrong, the Nikon manual (included with the camera) is excellent and comprehensive, but is more focused on how to set the controls. Not so much the reasons why you might want to use them. Be aware that Nikon recently released the new D7100 which although very similar (same image quality) is a bit lighter and adds some features. While you should probably consider both models you'll find some awesome close-out deals on the D7000 (possibly kitted with Nikon's excellent 18-140mm zoom lens and other accessories).

Great Content, So-So Packaging
on December 2, 2011

What can you say... if you're a big King Of Queens fan it's a must-have. Every episode from every season and a few extras at a bargain price. The discs are exactly the same as the "Special Edition" version. The only possible issue is the packaging. In this low-cost version, all 27 DVD's are stacked on 2 spindles making it a bit of a hassle to quickly locate a particular disc. Unless you plan on watching your episodes in the order they're packaged it wouldn't be a bad idea to store the discs in a CD/DVD wallet for easy access. Other than that, no complaints!
What's great about it: Complete series on 27 DVD's
What's not so great: Packaging is awkward

Excellent (With A Few Minor Compromises)
on July 4, 2010

This portable keyboard has a great look and feel. Unlike most of the porty's I tried, the ultra low profile keys very comfortable to use for long periods of time. My typing accuracy is definitely better versus the typical keys found on most keyboards. The "arc" style is not only attractive but ergonomically superior, especially when resting the keyboard across the lap. The unit includes a durable fabric carrying pouch which does a good job protecting the keyboard from scratches and key damage when stowed in a laptop bag. The built-in storage slot for the tiny "nano" usb receiver is also a convenient feature. Although software to set-up and enable the special programmable keys can be downloaded, the unit is plug-and-play for Windows PC's. The only slight negatives would be: 1) The (top row) "F" command keys feel more like "buttons" than "keys". It's not a problem for me but those who use these keys frequently might find them a bit tedious. 2) The "arrow" keys have been condensed into a single compass-like button that handles up/down/right/left by pressing the key towards the direction you wish to go. Again, users who have frequent need of the arrow keys might be disappointed. All things considered, the few compromises that were made in favor of a compact design are of little concern considering the excellent overall performance of this keyboard. Highly recommended although a bit pricey.
What's great about it: Keys feel great, very compact (fits well in laptop bag), plug-and-play, nice looking.
What's not so great: The "special purpose" keys are more like "buttons" than keys. Also a bit pricey.

Best Junk Mail Shredder On The Market!
on June 2, 2009
Posted by: SJVT
from San Jose, CA
After looking at several compact shredders I'm convinced this is the best unit on the market. This little powerhouse has the ability to shred darn near anything including unopened junk mail envelopes of virtually any thickness. After using the machine hundreds of times I've never once succeeded in jamming it. It also does a great job on CD/DVD discs as well as credit cards and papers with staples and/or paperclips. Due to it's compact slot width, normal 8.5 x 11" (or larger) paper must be folded in half but this minor inconvenience is easily outweighed by the overall performance of the unit. My only caveat, be sure to dump the waste basket after each shredding session. If allowed to overfill, the excess will end up all over the floor when you slide the basket out. All things considered I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone.
What's great about it: Almost impossible to jam, compact size, nice looking.
What's not so great: Small waste basket capacity, a bit noisy, full size paper must be folded.

Can I use a sound bar on an old TV?

Yes, as long as your older TV has RCA (red and white, right/left) outputs on the back or a headphone jack. Both cables for these connections are included in the box.

When does Logiteck K800 come to BestBuy

Logitech just released their Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800. I was wondering if there was a date when best buy would have it avaliable.
Hard to guess. Logitech is currently out of stock and they are somewhat notorious for releasing products before adequate supplies are available. If you can live with USB, their "920-920-000914" is available. Without question, it's the best keyboard I've ever owned. I like it so much I actually bought a spare and stashed it away in case Logitech discontinues it.

spilled water on my keyboard

hey, i spilled a little water on my keyboard. i instantly flipped it over, and got the water up, and it worked fine. came back a couple hours later, and now some of the buttons are sticking. anybody got any advice?
It may be that there is still some moisture inside the enclosure. If you're comfortable taking the unit apart, gently air-drying the inside might resolve the problem. That said, it's hard to imagine why "water" would cause the keys to stick.

Is there a USB hub without using a USB port?

I only have 2 USB on my Acer 5532 and they are both not working! I need USB cause of my ipod and mouse.
Since your model doesn't include an ExpressCard slot, your only options are to troubleshoot the USB problem yourself or take the unit in for repair. You might be able to find a repair shop that will provide a free or low-cost diagnosis however most typical laptop repairs will run you at least $100.

Ergonomic mouse: NEED SUGGESTIONS!!

I am left handed but typically use a mouse right handed. I have nerve issues with both hands so I tend to switch back and forth between them which isn't an issue since I rarely use the extra features. I currently use the Mouse/Keyboard combo: Logitech Wave. My mouse is dying on me and I'm looking for a new one. I love the keyboard but have never loved the mouse. Its not very comfortable after any time of use so switching it is a YAY for me but a struggle. I'm a petite gal with petite hands so I've been looking at the laptop mice (which is really the majority of choices out there! What about ALL those desktop folks!? Anyway...) but here's where I'm stuck.: Some seem too small or may work when holding them in my hand for those that are on display, some I cannot even hold to see how they fit and NOT ONE has been available to me to try it in the correct ergonomic position (aka sitting at a desk).. regardless of if I ask someone @ Best Buy (or any other shop) to let me try their display at a desk!

So what do you all recommend?? Thanks for your help!
Most stores tether their demo "mice" to a display panel. Unfortunately, the cables are often too short and are often connected to the wrong end of the mouse. I suggest buying several models that "seem" to suit you and try them out at home. When you've made your decision, return the "rejects" to the store for a refund. The store probably won't appreciate it but there's just no other way properly test for the best fit. Having a comfortable mouse is very important and getting "stuck" with something you don't like just isn't acceptable. As to "why" the stores can't figure out how to correctly tether the demo units, your guess is as good as mine.

what is the difference in a laser wireless mouse and a optical wireless mouse

just curious which is better the laser wireless mice or the optical wireless mice?
and what is the best wireless mouse to be used on any surface, such as a quilt on top of the bed etc.? thanx
Technically, a laser mouse is more accurate due to it's ability to track at higher "dpi" resolution versus optical. That said, when using either technology on a "standard" surface (mouse pad) you might not notice much (if any) difference. However, when tracking on non-standard surfaces the laser is far superior. Both Microsoft and Logitech have recently unveiled a new technology that allows the mouse to track accurately on just about ANY surface including carpet and glass. The new Microsoft products are in the "BlueTrack" series and the Logitech units are known as "Darkfield".

What's the difference between a wireless mouse and a laptop mouse?

I want to get a laptop, and I would want to get a mouse with it. I need to know if I should buy a laptop mouse or a wireless mouse or if it doesnt matter.
A wireless mouse is by far the most convenient. Microsoft and Logitech offer a good assortment that are slightly smaller sized for laptop/notebook use.
