Lego Batman

Lego Batman, just like all of the other Lego games is pretty easy and is a great game for most ages. Kids will enjoy the fact that you don’t have “lives” and you can pretty much die over and over again until the level is over. However, this does make the game rather easy to play through. Older players will like it because of its tongue in cheek humor. Going through the game there are a lot of unlockables as you play through the game. Also, a lot of levels to go through, you will play each of the different levels 2 times (at least), once as the Hero and once as the Villains. This aspect of the game gives a unique feel to the game. The fighting engine is also a lot of fun and includes using a baterang and you can also change your costume to get through different portions of the game. Also, this game can be played with 2 players on the same Xbox 360 so it adds a little more fun playing with a friend. I highly recommend this game to everyone!
What's great about it: A lot of unlockables and levels
What's not so great: The game is a little easy
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Kooks, Inside In Inside Out

Both of the Albums by The Kooks are just plain great! The band has a great use of Acoustics and their sound is pretty unique. As stated about their second album you will need to listen to this CD at least a couple of times before you judge it. The Kooks are a British band with a great sound. Their sound is a little different from American music, but as I have said, very well. I would whole heartedly recommend this album to all music lovers. The Reason I only put 4 stars for lyrics is because this is their first album and it is not quite as good as their second album when it comes to lyrics.
What's great about it: Wow, this band is just great!
What's not so great: Nothing that I can see
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Kooks, Konk (LP)

The Kooks is a British band that has come to my attention within the last couple of months. I am enjoying them quite a bit, this LP and their first CD are both great. Every single track is great. These guys do a lot of acoustics and they are very good at it. I recommend after getting this LP listen to it a couple of times. They definitely grow on you but you might have a kind of “What?” moment after the first listen through. I have not bought the Record, but I feel that there should be a review as I have heard them after buying thier CD. If you have a Record player since sound quality is better, get the LP!
What's great about it: Great acoustics work in a lot of the songs
What's not so great: Can't really think of one
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mario Kart DS

Mario Kart DS is a great game. I recommend this to anyone who has a DS and likes any of the Mario Kart games. This game has a lot of different features. There are two sets of tracks, one made specifically for this DS game and one full of retro levels. Each set has 4 races, and each race has 4 tracks, for a total of 32 tracks. The retro tracks are great because there are tracks from all of the previous games from the SNES, GBA, Gamecube, and N64 versions. This is a lot of fun to play some of the old levels you love. There are also some new items and different uses for the ones you had before. The mission mode is fun as well there are at least 6 missions (although more may open up as you play) each mission has 9 levels in it where you do things from going through gates in order to collecting coins, or even breaking boxes. Each one does have a boss battle that you have to complete to go onto the next one as well. You of course have the time trials which you can have ghosts and even share the ghosts with your friends. There is also a battle mode (which I really have not tried yet, but I’m sure it is similar to the previous games battle modes). There is a team mode as well that you can race through as a team of 4 vs. 4. There is a lot of unlockables that open up as you play through certain parts of the game. SO there is a lot of play times.
What's great about it: Retro tracks and mission mode
What's not so great: Your hand can get tired after awhile of playing
I would recommend this to a friend!

Professor Layton and the Curious Village
on June 22, 2008

Professor Layton and the Curious Village is a great game for young or old; however, I would recommend not getting it for someone under 10. You do have to know how to read well as well as understand what the puzzles are actually asking you. There is a great story that you really get enveloped in as well. In this unique town you go to for investigating the “Golden Apple” of a Professor that passed away you run into a whole slew of townsfolk that love to do puzzles. As you investigate this other things unfold that you have to investigate and solve in order to complete the game. There is a huge variety of different types of puzzles as well so you don’t get bored with the same thing over and over again. Also, if you complete some mini puzzles in the game it opens up some extra puzzles for you to play. And if all of this wasn’t enough the makers of the game release a new puzzle to download and play every week (at lease as of the time of writing this review). I would say the replay value is pretty low as far as the actually game goes since you know all the answers to the puzzles the second time through, but if you kept the game a couple years and replayed it again I think it would be a lot of fun to play through again. I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes a good puzzle (plus it’s fun to try and have your friend’s do the puzzles that you think were hard and see how fast they get them).
What's great about it: Great puzzles, fun, addictive
What's not so great: Can get monotonous after awhile
I would recommend this to a friend!

BlackSite: Area 51

BlackSite: Area 51 is a fun game, the storyline is good and in depth. The graphics are also good, but there are A LOT of glitches in this game, in fact it almost seems that there was not a lot of bug testing done for this game. You start the game in Iraq trying to find a WMD and then a few years later there is an alien infestation in Nevada that your team was called in for specifically, even the doctor that was helping you in Iraq. As you play through the story unfolds with some twists and turns. This game, like most FPS games now, is very short. There are not a very big variety of weapons to choose from and really not a huge variety of enemies either. I would say this would be a great game to get if it were $20.00 or under, as of this review it is not that low though.
What's great about it: Well… the game play and storyline are good
What's not so great: There is A LOT of glitches in this game

GRAW 2 is a lot of fun to play, it’s got a great storyline and the graphics are excellent. You play through as a ghost team and try to save the world again. The environments are much better this time around and team control is great. This game does have a fun co-op mode, but it is extremely hard even on easy. There is no co-op through the story like in the Rainbow six series which is kind of disappointing, but still fun to play with a friend on the co-op levels or online. The main character is pretty cheesy now though on what he says. He has a lot of one-liners and reminds me of master chief from the halo series. If you play through the game and beat it you could even see it being master chief. You’ll have to try it to see what I mean though. There is a great selection of guns to chose from and some extra content to download to play with this game. I certainly recommend this game if you have liked any of the GRAW or Rainbow 6 games.
What's great about it: Great game play, fun multi co-op multiplayer
What's not so great: The main character is cheesy now

Rock Band (Game Only)

The version of Rock band comes only with the game, now you cannot play the game without some sort of instrument. So if here’s the trick. If you have guitar hero II or III then you can use that guitar on this game, also the microphone from Karaoke Revolution would work on this game as well. If you have nothing you will have to buy a guitar, the drums, or a microphone in order to play it. I recommend if you want a whole band set to buy the Special edition that comes with 1 guitar, 1 drum set and a microphone. You would still need to buy an extra guitar, but it is much cheaper then buying everything separately. As for the game though it is great. There are a lot of different ways to play this game. You can do a solo tour on any instrument except the bass, but you can play any song you have unlocked on any instrument. Also there is online play where you can play with a whole band from different areas one song at a time, or you can play a score battle against the same instrument for who gets the higher score wins. There is a tug o war against the same instrument as well that you play a cord the other player does the next cord and so on. When you play a note your bar goes more your way and when they play one right more theirs. Also, there is the Band World Tour. You do have to have at least 2 instruments going for you to be able to play this and there are so many set lists you will get sick of some of the songs. It is a lot of fun though. You can download new music for the game and they release new songs every Tuesday to download (You do have to pay for the songs though). These don’t really get incorporated into the Band World tour except in the Random set lists and the make your own set lists and this is the only problem with the band world tour because there is not enough of the create or random ones. All in all I have been playing this game since I got it for Christmas last year and I am still having a blast playing it alone or with friends. I say if you’ve ever played an instrument game similar to this, or if you like music in general you should try this one out.
What's great about it: Great game, great music, a lot of fun
What's not so great: The World tour is long and repetitive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

Kane & Lynch is a great game to play with a friend. You can play by yourself, but the story and game play are much better with someone. You play a convict (Kane) who just got out of prison (not in the conventional way of course). You get teamed up with a psycho (Lynch) who takes meds for his condition. Great cut scenes tell the story very well and excellent graphics. You can beat this entire game in about 6-8 hours so it is very short. There are a couple of difficult parts to go through, but nothing impossible. And it is fun to go through as Kane and then again as Lynch. Now you are trying to stop the main group of bad people from harming your ex-wife and daughter and the story progresses through what these people want you to do so that won’t happen. It’s really a great story, just kind of short. The online multiplayer is kind of fun, but it can get complicated and I didn’t get into it too much. Basically you and 4 people get together to rob a bank, the computer is sending cops after you and you try to stay alive. Everyone that gets away shares the money, however if you die you become one of the police and try to prevent the others from getting any money and escaping. You also have an option of becoming a traitor if you get greedy and want to keep the money for yourself but then you are on a team by yourself and you have to fight off the police and the other robbers. It’s fun, but I didn’t get too much into it. I say it’s a good game, short, but great on multiplayer. Try it out definitely.
What's great about it: Great Co-op experience
What's not so great: Kind of short, you could beat it in a day or two
I would recommend this to a friend!
