Touching story.

This is a very touching story about the lifelong relationship between a father and his son. As the father dies of cancer, the son reflects on his memories of his relationship. Sometimes at the end of life we still discover something new. Enjoy!

F. Gary Gray's hostage drama The Negotiator comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. They did a solid job considering how dark the actual film is much of the time. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Subtitles are available in both of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include a short documentary about real-life hostage negotiators, a "making of" featurette, production notes, and a handful of theatrical trailers. Fans of the film will be pleased with the great sound and quality picture, but a commentary track by the actors would have made this a must-see.

Solid movie

Kevin Spacey and Samuel L Jackson do a great job in this film. Their acting is top notch. However, some of the other characters are a bit flat and predictable, and the plot itself could use some more twists and turns. Still, overall a good purchase and fun to watch!

This is audioslave at their finest. If you are a fan of rock music this album is definitely for you. It has a unique feel without abandoning its old school rock roots. Great lyrics too!

This is a good scientific calculator for classes that won't allow the use of graphing calculator. It may take a little bit to get used to but is very helpful once you get he hang of it.

Taylor Hackford's The Devil's Advocate gets a superb DVD release with this package. The disc contains a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include an audio commentary by the director, a half hour of deleted scenes, production notes, theatrical trailers, and a pair of television commercials. Whatever one might think of the film, the superb technical job and the bountiful extras make this an engaging DVD.

Interesting Movie

Al Pacino and Reeves do a great job in this film, and the plot itself is pretty intriguing. However, all the events do not tie together perfectly. Especially the last ten minutes. But modern day fantasy movies are hard to do.

B+ Comedy

Decently funny comedy. Steve Carell and his co-actress do a great job, but the plot itself is a bit underdeveloped. The first half is way funnier than the second when the film tries to add some element of seriousness to itself.

Truly a great superhero movie. Iron Man is second only to Batman Begins and The Dark Knight on my list of top superhero movies. Definitely worth the buy!

Bigger isn't always better. Case in point: Bad Boys II. On the other hand, this ample two-disc DVD set from Columbia/TriStar is nothing to complain about. The first disc, with the film, offers both picture and sound that is stunning. The 2.40:1 transfer, enhanced for widescreen televisions, is beautiful in every way. Colors are vibrant, blacks are solid, and detail is constant throughout. Director Michael Bay -- known for style over substance -- doesn't disappoint, and this digital transfer is up to the task of recreating his "vision." Equally impressive is the Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, available in either English or French. Aggressive and exciting, sound alternates from speaker to speaker, both front and back, highlighting every gun shot or obligatory bass-heavy song. This is an remarkable mix, bound to take advantage of any decent sound system. While this disc is slim on extras -- only containing trailers from both Bad Boys films, S.W.A.T., Radio, The Missing, Underworld, and a handful of others -- the second disc holds the meat of the supplements, including a handful of deleted scenes and two featurettes: a short nine-minute look at the stunts and another, twice as long, on the visual effects. Both could have benefited by being more in-depth, but they're still very good. In addition, a music video from Jay-Z for "La-La-La" will appeal to his fans, but the highlight of this disc are two separate sections: the "Sequence Breakdowns," where six sections of the film are extensively studied, and a comprehensive "Production Diary," made up of 19 short, but revealing, featurettes covering just about everything, including the original Bad Boys film. Oddly enough, a Bay commentary is missing, and while his brand of filmmaking is often critically questioned, this set has everything one would expect.

This movie is one of those rare cases when the sequel is just as good or better than the original. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence come back with a bang! The shoot-outs are awesome and the hilarious chemistry between Smith and Lawrence continues once more.
