Worth it

Some may complain about having a subscription fee for use of the Xbox (which isn't required) or that the Play Station Network is free (which doesn't work on the XBox and requires a PS3). I think Xbox Live is well worth it even from a casual gamer. The included games and promotions and Netflix (if you have an account) as well as many other extras makes the Gold subscription well worth it over the normal one even if you don't do multi-player much.

I love it

From a casual gamer it took me a long time to get a modern console, and I went with the Xbox 360 first. And from that perspective it has been a good investment. There is a lot of fun to be had even avoiding the latest games and experiencing the XBox Market place. (Which makes the Xbox Live Gold subscription a must, but that's not apart of this hardware review). I have been having a blast with no issues with this device in the six months that I have had it.
Graphics quality and sound is great. Plus marketplace access to downloadable casual games and other XBox Live extras keeps a lot of fun in the device without even buying new games. I have been using this device for media streaming (via Windows Media Extender and Netflix) as well as games and community. It has been well worth the purchase.
What's great about it: Community, eas of use
What's not so great: Heat

A great deal

I was looking for a universal remote, but didn't need an overkill one (the ones with LCD screens and hook up via USB) and this was the best universal remote I have ever found for the cost.
The code lists is quite complete, having codes by my YV, blu-ray player, old DVD player as well as Scientific Atlanta (cable co) DVR and receiver. After reading the instructions and cyclingthough all the codes of my various devices, I was ablke to get it to work, though not all functions worked. This is where the learning featuere comes in, where you can use an old remote to teach this remote something, which was quite useful. Plus the macro keys at the bottom, which allow multiple key presses to be assigned to one key is great for turning everything on or off.
The real downside is the lack of blank, generic buttons that can be used with the learning feature for other functions not covered by the remote. My cable box remote, as many does has three buttons for menu naviagtion 'A', 'B' and 'C'.; these was no buttons corresponding to those and no blank ones, so it requires assigning those functions to other unused buttons, which can get quite confusing at time.
What's great about it: Cost vs Performance
What's not so great: No generic buttons to use with the learning feature.

Great Show

Season 2 keeps up with the same energy first presented in Season 1 of "How I Meet Your Mother." Although Barney still continues to be the funniest part of the show, the show isn't entirety him. The entire cast is well cast and quite funny.
Make sure you have checked out season 1 and if you found yourself ;laughing not stop though out, make sure you pick up season 2 immediately.

Great Show

I ignored this show for years because it was just another CBS comedy. What I didn't know was this show was actually good. One of the funnier sitcoms on network television currently. A lot of the life after college, and trying to find love and get married.
Now that part is okay, but the show is really about Barney played by Neil Patrick Harris. The womanizing playboy provides the majority of the humor. And it is funny.
If you have seen the show, get the DVDs. if you haven't seen the shows, get the DVDs. It is worth it.

A good reivew of their history

Personally, I though The Offspring has fallen off quite a bit with that last few albums. They just don't have that same sound that I was once used to. But with the release of their greatest hits CD it was a god wa to catch up on their old and their new stuff. Not having bough a Offspring album in a long time it was a good deal. It is a good deal for the occasional Offspring fan. But if you already have most if not all of The offspring's other albums this only adds one new song (that I find decent, at best).

Now that season 3 has come and gone on TV, it is a good time to catch on on the previous season of one of the funniest cartoons around. A great parody of the older Johnny Quest cartoons from back in the day.
Great stories, though they can be a little far fetched 9but that is the point), funny and good voice acting. Plus the director's commentary alone is worth the DVD purchase. Even if you are not a fan of commentaries these add extra laughs and make all the shows worth watching again.

Five ethically challenged underachievers face one misadventure after the next while running Paddy's Pub, a rundown Irish bar in South Philedelphia in the first two seasons of the award-winning sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philedelphia.

One of the funniest shows ever

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" maybe one of the funniest shows to come along in a while. If you haven't seen the show, you should get the DVDs. if you have seen the shows you should have the DVDs already. The special features are a little weak, but all the episodes of the first two seasons are there

Still good

Stargate Atlantis is still good in Season 4, but starting to show it's age. The episodes are fun and action packed and great to watch, but the stories still run a little thin. if you are a fan of the Stargate series and the Atlantis franchise, then owning this is a must. For the casual fan, it may not be the best buy here.

Yay for Stargate

At this point of the series the basis is flushed out they this series tends to spend more time on action and character development. As a fan of all the Stargate series this is a must own for my collection. Worth watching if you never saw the show either.

is there a way to use turtle beaches and a HDMI cable at the same time?

Yes! You can use the audio adapter and HDMI at the same time, and the Turtle Beach headphones come with a L/R (Red/White) adapter.

messenger kit or keyboard?

instead of buying the messenger kit for my controller can i just hook up my old keyboard via USB and use that instead? not a fan of the headset and the messenger kit so i prefer my keyboard.
You canh use standard USB keyboard to input text for Live emails and such. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for games.

Is this possible for xbox 360?

I hav an original pro xbox 360 with hd component cables. I also have an older reciever without an hdmi output. Is it possible to get a component to hdmi converter while having my original audio cables plugged into my reciever. I want to stick with the same audio i have ( i dont want to by a whole new reciever), I simply want the better picture. Is this possible to perform, or should i just stick with what i got?
Component to HDMI isn't really an easy conversion (since it is an analog to digital transmission). While there are some adapters out there (which I cannot find on Best Buy's site), they tend to be well above the $100 range.

That and converting component to HDMI won't improve picture quality anyways. So, stick with what you got.
