Director Peter Weir's high-seas adventure Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World stars Russell Crowe as Captain Jack Aubrey. Along with his loyal crew, Aubrey engages in a grand game of cat-and-mouse with a renegade French frigate from Napoleon's army. Adapted from the series of novels by Patrick O'Brian, the film is presented on DVD in widescreen with a wealth of audio options. Not only can viewers choose either DTS 5.1 Surround Sound or Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound versions of the original English soundtrack, there are also Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks dubbed in French and Spanish. Along with English and Spanish subtitles, the disc is rounded out by a handful of theatrical trailers. Fans interested in additional supplemental features should check out the two-disc edition that was released simultaneously with this disc. A full-screen version is also available.

Battles at SEA
on October 9, 2007

Life on the open sea is rough; especially when your arch enemy is the French. Who knew that strategy’s at sea was so complex. They do a very good job showing how different types of weather come into play. Smog, rain storms, and wind affect life at sea. The focus is pointed towards the chain-of-command. Without order there’s chaos. Of course the men and boys who come from wealthy families are in control of the poor crew hands. You will be glad you live now and not back then.
What's great about it: Realistic bloody battles
What's not so great: some parts should of been shorter

What were they thinking when they wrote this storyline. The people you thought had important roles were lost most of the time. Don't waste your time on this one.
What's great about it: More humans get killed
What's not so great: 10 times worst then the first movie

Oh, something everybody can relate to say between 15-29 years old. You will laugh at the corny jokes. If not, then you might be dead and check with your local hospital.
What's great about it: reality for many people
What's not so great: Too many unnecessary characters

Sam Mendes' gangster film Road to Perdition comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS Surround, and Dolby Digital Stereo. A French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1. Spanish and French subtitles are accessible, and all three English soundtracks are closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Mendes, a making-of featurette, deleted scenes, and production notes. This is a solid release from Dreamworks.

Crawl, climb, and jump over roof tops of buildings alone justify this next GEN for anybody to relish. You are surrounded by countless scenarios to maneuver to complete your tasks. I especially like the fact that each movement of individuals you interact with is different. The art design is outstanding. As you make your hasty escape from the goons, you are thankful for the hiding places you encounter. Fight scenes could use a little work, but as you move forward in this game you are sure to master them.

This game makes a lifetime criminal cry with joy. You might want to drink some type of high octane energy drink before entering this rollercoaster of a ride. Just a hair of heavy dosage of bullets provides heat with tension. This is differently for the gamer with a thirst for killing cops. This puppy looks a little choppy with movements, but overall a crafty touch of vengeance on the mind is in order.

GTA- the next GEN

Glad the folks over at Rockstar Games left the scenarios explosive with details to familiar sites and sounds of New York and New Jersey. You sometimes forget what you’re supposed to be doing, just from the backgrounds enticing you to explore even more. That’s just from the demos I’ve encountered so far. Love the story line of new blood from Eastern Europe. Keeps you wondering what’s going to happen next.

Can it get any better? There are nice changes from the start. Clean game play. I’m trying to find clichés, but unsuccessful so far. If you haven't played any kind of football game in a while, you wouldn't notice the flaws. A defiant must for your collection.
