As Infernal Affairs opens, Ming (Andy Lau of Full-time Killer) is being initiated into the criminal underworld by triad boss Sam (Eric Tsang of The Accidental Spy), who ends his speech to his young charges by wishing them success in the police department. Ming enters the police academy, where he excels, but sees his classmate, Yan (Tony Leung Chiu-Wai of In the Mood for Love), expelled for "breaking the rules." It turns out that Yan wasn't actually drummed out of the force, but recruited by Superintendent Wong (Anthony Wong of Hard-Boiled) as an undercover operative. Just as Ming is achieving success in the police department while secretly working for Sam, Ming is gaining Sam's trust as a triad member, while reporting to Wong. Ten years later, both men, still undercover, have grown confused about their true identities, while their bosses, Sam and Wong, wage a battle of wits against each other. Each boss learns that the other has a mole working for him, and unwittingly entrusts the mole himself to ferret out the culprit. Ming and Yan scramble to expose one another's identity in an effort to save their own skins. Infernal Affairs was co-directed by Andrew Lau (who worked as a cinematographer on several of Wong Kar-Wai's films) and Alan Mak. Renowned cinematographer Christopher Doyle served as "Visual Consultant." The film was shown at New Directors/New Films in 2003.

Not what I thought it would be

I rented this movie from a video store after I heard that it was what the departed was based off of. Big mistake! If you are getting this movie because your thinking that it will be as good as the departed, save your money. This was a very short movie and everything seemed really smushed together. Also, the acting was just terrible. None of the characters played their parts well at all, none were believable. Another down point was how crummy the violence was. Instead of showing the person die (which is what I like to see in movies) never once happened. Instead, you'd just hear the person die and wonder how. The script was another downpoint to it, the actors didn't play the role correctly at all, they were always too relaxed. But you don't have to take my word for it, you'll see what I mean after you watch it. Don't buy this movie.
What's great about it: Well directed
What's not so great: bad acting and also bad effects
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This movie was just hilarious and I would definatly buy it. The only real difference between the unrated version and the "R" version was the s*x scene between Lisa and Gary. I don't recomend for veiwers to watch this movie with their parents or girlfreinds because the may start to question your sense of humor, but if your by yourself or with some freinds it's a great movie to just enjoy! Matt Stone and Trey Parker (creators of South Park and main characters in Basketball) have succesfully created the best puppet movie of all time, and also maybe one of the best Teen comedies of all time too. This movie is just full of non-stop laughing. I was on the floor gasping for breath at certain parts! But it is definatly worth the money and I recomend this movie to everyone who like south park.
What's great about it: Just a great story line that pokes fun at america in a funny way
What's not so great: Kind of awkward to watch with some people

The South Park animated television show has cultivated an enormous following, and this crudely funny and supremely foul-mouthed spin-off movie has been given competent if less than extravagant DVD treatment. The minimalist animation that is the trademark of South Park does not exemplify the wonders of DVD as well as the likes of Fantasia 2000, but South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut blends in some impressive CGI that really comes into its own in the smooth, anamorphic widescreen transfer. Sound-wise, there is a choice of Dolby 5.1 or Surround Sound, which ensures that the marvelous musical numbers (not to mention the expletives) can be heard in crystal clarity. Unfortunately there are few additional features of any note. The menu screen is amusing, and scene access is deftly handled, plus those of a hardy disposition may enjoy watching the film with the subtitles on (watch those obscenities roll by!). However, the trailers are of limited appeal, the teaser in particular suffering without the surprise element that made it funny in cinemas. Though a commentary would perhaps not have worked, a little background to the film would have been welcome, particularly given the involvement of George Clooney, Minnie Driver, and the rest. This DVD will probably be essential for most South Park fans, but it is still something of a missed opportunity.

I just love this movie! I don't see how somebody couldn't. NOt only is the movie great but to back it up is an amazing soundtrack with Matt and trey busting out hilarious songs. My favorite is the second one (I can't say what it's name is online but it's hilarious). I will admit that this movie really vulgar and does use the f-word alot. But who cares? It's south park, there are very few shows that are better. I am just so siked that they made the movie. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are some of the best, and better yet, they even made Team America which was even better than this movie. But anyway... I deffinatly recommmend this movie for all ages (excluding young children who shouldn't hear some of the words) but it just great!!
What's great about it: All of the hilarious parts of South park but 100x better!

This game is incredable!

This game is an insane ninja style fighting game with awesome graphics. I don't know why I didn't buy this game sooner!! I originally had the demo from Playstation Online and couldn't even stop playing that! And what's even better is that the game itself is just as good throughout the entire game. I will admit that there are quite a few hard parts, for me at-least, but I still kept playing. Even in the demo, biginning of the game, the boss was hard. I won't tell you anything about him except that he comes back in the end! But a great benefit is the abilities and the supplies you have. I always use my different weapons. Their just so much fun to PWN people with! Any way, I strongly recommend this game for people who appreaciate good graphics and fast paced sword play against ninjas. Get this Game!
What's great about it: Graphics + fast paced fighting
What's not so great: can be pretty hard in some parts

Rainbow Six Vegas (a.k.a Vegas) is a great game. Not only is the shooting style and controller layolut great, but the graphics are really good to. I am about done with Vegas right now and I know that after I beat it I am going to play it again. Another benefit of the game is the realistic mode. This mode is definatly for more advanced players, but it is still fun to ocasionally just mess around on to see how well you'll do. Something I found out about recently was the instant action section of the game. In here, you can set up maps outside of the Carear mode and just play against the game. It is really quite fun. I would recomend this game for anybody who likes stealth/ swat style fighting in a Las Vegas/ Mexico setting. But this game really is good.
What's great about it: It was just all over fun.. The online is good
What's not so great: none

Although a deluxe two-disc set is available, this one-disc edition of Moulin Rouge will do for those who want just the film. This DVD boasts a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, and a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by director Baz Luhrmann and co-screenwriter Craig Pearce, and a second commentary track recorded by Luhrmann, costume director Catherine Martin, and cinematographer Donald McAlpine. A behind-the-scenes featurette rounds out this strong release.

Just Amazing on all Levels!

This movie is of the best movies of all time. Both the soundtrak and the cinimatography were superb. And of coarse to top all of it off, there was Ewan Mcgreggor! I mean wow, he was such an amazing act he deserved an award for his act as Christine. I was jealous that Nicole Kidman got Ewan in the movie even though he deserved so much better. But SHHH!! I won't tell you anymore about the movie, you'll just have to buy it and watch it for yourself.
What I'm trying to say is that this movie is one of the best movies ever made and that it is definatly worth buying. It was so good I went out and bought the $50 soundtrack edition. It is just phenominal!!! Enjoy.
What's great about it: Ewan Mcgreggor and amazing Story line and soundtrack
What's not so great: Nicole Kidman gets Ewan and i don't

Favorite Movie of all time!

The Departed is my favorite movie of all time. Not only was it directed beautifully, but the acting was fantastic. Leonardo Di Caprio had some of his best acting ever in this movie, it was all very believable. Another good point of this movie was the greusome/ bloody shootouts between Boston's Finnest in the Police Force and the Italian-American Mafia. Jack Nicholson played the Mob-boss Frank Costello and was a very believeable character. After purchasing this movie I watched four times within the next five days! It was that fantastic, in fact I still catch myself looking through my movies and always picking The Departed to watch. BUt make sure that you have a good three hours to watch it because once you start it you won't want to turn it off.
What's great about it: Excellent movie
What's not so great: kind of long (but it goes by fast)

Best Underground Rap album of '07
on October 29, 2007

This album "Ritual of Battle" is by far the best underground rap album of '07 BY FAR!!! I can't stop listening to it. Vinnie Paz and Celph Titled are ill. The best songs on this album are :
1) Time to Rock
2) Seven
3) Dump the Clip
4) Swords Drawn
5) Bloody Tears
6) Murda Murda
Des Devious is also pretty good. But this album is home ot some of Vinnie Paz's best lyrics yet. Also this is definatly better than AOTP's last album The Torture Paers. Although their last album was incedable, this one is even better!!! Definatly buy this album if you are looking for an amazing Underground/ war rap/ hardcore rap cd. I gaurentee (however that's spelled) that you'll love this album and want to buy all of the cd's from every artist on this album.
What's great about it: Amazing Lyrics and beats
What's not so great: one or two bad songs

I don't understand the hype

I played this game half way through at a freinds house and put it down. It wasn't really that great of a game. I will give it credit for the telecanesis though, because that in it's self was amazingly fun. But overall, I didn't care for how dark the game was. Not dark in the sense that it's violent, dark in the physical meaning. I could barely see where i was going in the game even with my flashlight on. The game play was great however, but the story line and lighting were not so fortunate. In other wrods, if your currently looking for a game with fun fighting but nothing else, then this game is worth it, but otherwise, don't waste $60 on this.
What's great about it: telecanesis (however that is spelled)
What's not so great: very dark

I have been watching the simpsons my ENTIRE life and all I have to say about the movie is "wow". It was by far the best comedy of the 2007 summer. I currently own all of the seasons of the simpsons on DVD and when I saw that the movie was coming out on Blue ray, I couldn't have been more excited. This has to be one of the funniest movies ever. It kept the classic simpson style thought the entire feature and it was just overall fantastic. I went and saw the midnight release and it was packed full which goes to show just how funny the Simpsons really are. It is my favorite show and the movie is one of the best movies of all time. Get this movie!!!
What's great about it: Hilarious, non stop laughing
