I am in love with this movie!

I expected this movie to be good, but it was better than I ever could have imagined. If you're a fan of the games, you'll recognize Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. There are also a few new characters, who by the end of the movie, you'll either love or hate. That's what is so great about the movie; you feel a connection with the characters, the new and the old.
The movie fits right in with the games, but can also be enjoyed by anyone who isn't yet familiar with the Resident Evil story. If you are familiar with the games, you'll notice slight details (for example, when Claire and Leon meet) that will have you *squee*ing with glee (I was!).
The plot was excellently written and played out. There is action in the beginning, they build on the new characters, and then more action until the end. I was never once bored watching this film, and I get can bored fairly easily. The movie never felt too short or too long, though in the end I was wishing for more in a "I love it too much to see it end" sort of way.
All in all, I say this one of the best movies I've ever seen. And it is most definitely the best Resident Evil movie ever made. Five Stars - Two Thumbs Up - A+!
What's great about it: The movie plot flows along nicely, there's so much action you never get bored

An ambitious and stylish action-horror hybrid featuring Japanese pop stars Gackt Camui and Hideto Takarai (aka Hyde) embarking in vampiric John Woo-style gunplay, Takahisa Zeze's Moon Child makes its stateside DVD debut courtesy of TLA Releasing. The picture is shown in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, but the visual presentation leaves much to be desired. Though free of edge-enhancement, the disc is marred by constant artifacting -- with distracting, dancing pixels evident throughout (especially in the wildly unstable blacks). The already intentionally gritty cinematography is increasingly muddied as well, offering a washed-out image despite generally accurate skin tones and the occasional vibrant blast of color. The Dolby Digital Stereo audio track offers a bold mix with no discernible hiss or distortion. English subtitles are presented in easy-to-read white font with bold black outlines. As for extras, viewers can access a handful of stills from the feature in addition to four trailers (presented in non-anamorphic widescreen) for other TLA Releasing titles.

My new favorite movie!

I just watched this movie the other day, and I was blown away. Gackt Camui (Sho) and Hideto "Hyde" Takarai (Kei) are well known Japanese Rock singers, so I had pretty much expected the movie to be something just the fans could enjoy. I was way off. The movie has action, drama, vampires, themes of friendship, and more. There were moments when I was excited, laughing, and even crying. I feel this is a movie that can appeal to people of all different tastes. If my review doesn't convince you that this movie is worth seeing, see it anyway and try to prove me wrong.
I leave you with this, a lyric from the movie's theme song, Orenji no Taiyou (The Orange Sun), which I feel sums up the entire movie.
"All the joys and sadness, the countless encounters and partings, just as it did back then, the orange sun oversees them all." - written and performed by Gackt & Hyde
I would recommend this to a friend!
