One SRPG that should not be missed on the PS3
on January 11, 2009
Posted by: Jammerkid
Got this game for Christmas and can't put it down. This is one of those games that come along and outshines almost every game that release at that time. With beautiful cel shaded graphics, it looks just like an anime or even a water colored story book. The gameplay is a mix of real time strategy, RPG and third person shooter, something that nobody would think would go together but mixes perfectly. If you have a PS3 and like SRPG's (or just strategy or RPG's), then you should pickup Valkyria Chronicles.
What's great about it: Beautiful visuals, Great gameplay, Great story
What's not so great: none

One of the Best PS3 games that anyone can play
on November 5, 2008
Posted by: Jammerkid
One of the reasons I own a PS3, one of the best games on the PS3 can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. From some great platforming to some of the best customizable tools in any game on consoles. You play as a sackboy that you customize to with a look you want, and then jump into the fun of the game. You can go through the levels the creators built, play levels the communities built or build your own levels from scratch and let others play the level you made. Best of all you can enjoy all of this with up to four friends or family, online or off. If there is one PS3 game to get this Holiday it has to be Littlebigplanet.
What's great about it: Graphics, Music, Gameplay
What's not so great: Controls

This game Could have been better.
on February 10, 2008
Posted by: Jammerkid
What looked like a game that could have been game of the year 2007 turned out to be disappointing in the end. What was fun in the beginning turns into a chore the rest of the way.
The story, your a assassin trying to gain his way back into the ranks of a top assassin after being stripped of your rank. If I say anymore it would all just become a spoiler. The gameplay splits into to halfs, the good and the bad. The good; the free running done in the game, being able to run anywhere and climb anything you see fit. The bad; Repetitive missions and bad combat. The missions seem simple enough, gather information on your target by doing various other missions and then kill your target. But the problem is that you do that for almost every target mission with no change throughout the game. Sure the Assassination's may change but it's still the same thing. Now for the combat, it can become easy or hard but either way it's the same result, boring. You can either keep attacking until your enemy forgets to block and kill him, or you can counter his moves and go in for the kill. Not something you want to do for 12 hours is it. As for the presentation, the game does pretty good. The graphics look great and sounds great too.
If you really don't care about all the problems this game has then go ahead and get it. But if I were you I'd find a better game, this is disappointing game.
What's great about it: Great Graphics, Climbing in this game is awesome
What's not so great: The game gets repetitive after a while, bad combat system

They may look cute, but there's nothing nice about the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This fighting frenzy will have you inflicting painful KO's on familiar opponents you thought were your friends. Take your frustrations out on Link, Mario and other characters from throughout the gaming world. Shoot spaceships out of the sky in the Lylat System from the Star Fox games and deal out killer blows in Rumble Falls based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat.Hit opponent after opponent to build up your damage meter, then knock your enemies clear off the screen. Rely on weapons that are silly but very effective, such as banana peels, pitfalls, gooey bombs and many more. Hurl old-school crates and barrels or select from Assist Trophies and Poke Balls to strike fear in the hearts of your foes. Combine Standard, Strong and Smash attacks to bash your way to victory. There are so many ways to smash, you'll get lost in the melees for hours on end.

Another great film by Satoshi Kon

This is a great movie for those who are looking for something different from what you usually see. I can't decribe how crazy and imaginative this movie is, you'll have to pause the movie just to see why there are frogs in a parade. If you are a fan of anime, then you must see this movie, If not at least give this film a try.
What's great about it: Stylish, imaginative, and great music and animation to go along with it
What's not so great: Short, will confuse you if your not use to films like this.

When a pair of violent, incarcerated criminals discover that the futuristic prison they are being held in is actually a front for a top secret cloning facility, the deadly duo stages a brutal prison break in this ultra-violent anime from Manga Video. The feature is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and boasts bright, vivid colors with no evidence of digital artifacting or edge enhancement. English and Japanese Dolby Digital audio makes the viewer feel every shot fired and every bone-cracking punch, and optional English subtitles are presented in bold, easy-to-read font. In addition to a playful audio commentary track in which the semi-inebriated director and writer discuss the making of the feature, this release also offers a variety of exciting bonus materials. A screening at Club Asia finds the creators of Dead Leaves discussing the film both with an audience and backstage as well, with footage from a question and answer session at the premiere goes into even greater detail. "True or Doubt" finds the creators meeting in a comfortable bar to play a fun and revealing game, while a more formal but no less fun film-festival interview once again finds the director in good spirits and happy to discuss the film. After going into the studio to see the voice-over artists at work during a recording session, viewers can also access a trailer for Dead Leaves in addition to some Manga previews, web links, and catalogue titles.

The only Final Fantasy never to come to america...

Comes to the DS for the first time. This is basically like your basic turn based RPG, but focuses on a Job class that has more than 20 classes, from Black Mage to Summoner. I terms of graphics, this is one of the best looking DS games as of right now (but won't be for long). If your looking for a RPG to play on the DS that isn't Pokemon or are a Fan of Final Fantasy and never played III, then this game is for you.

From start to finish bioshock is one great game that never stops. From the different plasmids and weapons, to the big daddy battles this game delivers. If you have a 360 and are tired of Gears or just getting a 360, you should make this game part of your collection.
