My Morning Jacket are America's heir apparent to Radiohead. Their depth of sound is second to none on Z, and they have carved out a niche that few can touch. Jim James is a dynamic frontman whose rhythmic leads echo a Velvet Underground-era Lou Reed. Knot Comes Loose and Dondante are slow burning elegiac ballads, where the angelic Wordless Chorus and the bouncy Off the Record rock hard enough to offer contrast. A phenomenal album. The sky is the limit for My Morning Jacket.
