More to this band than Seventeen

Usually I like when the greatest hits are in chronological order. This one is in reverse chronological order which I think works best in this case. Winger's newer material sounds stronger to me. Yes they were made fun of in the 80's and 90's but every member had the musical chops, not to mention the songwriting was strong. Very underrated band, give this a listen.

Paul Rodgers is the man!

Excellent live CD with Paul and the boys. Great band performance on both shows; everybody shines! Of course Paul Rodgers has one of the best voices in rock. It's a shame we had to wait 35 years to get an official live album from the original lineup. Crank this one up!

Stevie at a great time in his life!

Being a huge SRV fan, I snagged this up not knowing how it would be. The sound quality is not as good as say "Live Alive". But you know what, I think the performance is better making it more enjoyable! It is a 2 CD set with great selections from his first 3 albums. The addition of Reese Wynans on keyboards really fattened up the sound too.

Good first album

I am a fan of the blues and I've always heard Luther Allison's name thrown around. I figured I'd start at the beginning and picked this up. Mostly covers but nicely done. I really like Luther's voice and guitar playing. If you a fan of modern blues, I would pick this up.

Dio's 3rd release

I remember when this came out in 1985 as I was a wee lass of 15 years old. "Rock & Roll Children" was a major MTV hit and "Hungry for Heaven" was included on the "Vision Quest" movie soundtrack. Overall a strong release from Dio, although the keyboards are creeping in too high at this point. Listening to it 30 years later, I think I enjoyed it more. I still think "Holy Diver" and "The "Last in Line" are better records but this one has some superb moments. The bonus disc contains some great live tracks including the "Intermission" EP released in 1986. Unfortunately, guitarist Vivian Campbell was gone at this point but would find homes in Whitesnake and Def Leppard down the road. If you're looking to upgrade your old worn-out cassette or LP, I would recommend this 2 disc deluxe edition.

Vintage Cats!

2 shows spread out over 1 DVD and 2 CD's. The 1983 show has better audio & video quality. However both shows are great quality for being recorded over 30 years ago. I always felt the Stray Cats were better live than in studio and these shows prove that. Recommended for fans of good no frills rock and roll.
