Take all of the great visual effects from the entire 4 seasons of BSG, and throw it into a 94 minute movie. They're different and great effects from the people who brought us Battlestar Galactica though. The plot is thin, with no character development. There's not a still shot in the movie. It's all shaky cam, way beyond what was in BSG. The camera won't even stay still long enough to focus on what the characters look like. After an hour, I had to take a break to rest my eyes. It was shot in Vancouver, so there's a number of familiar SciFi acting faces from BSG, Stargate, Defying Gravity, etc. If you want a taste of Ron Moore's BSG, to satisfy your BSG withdrawal, this doesn't help much. Better to rewatch "Razor." And if you were hoping for Tricia Helfer, well ... If you're a BSG fan and watch this, you'll know. I would have enjoyed this if the camera work didn't make me nauseous ... and I'm a camera operator.
What's great about it: Visual effects from the BSG effects co, Vancouver
What's not so great: Direction, camera work, shaky cam to the max.
