20th Anniversary edition is not "special" at all
on July 20, 2016

The movie: Fantastic. One of those movies that you can't watch only once. Great script, amazing cast, well directed, just an all around incredible movie. Kevin Spacey is perfect, especially taking into account that this was in the mid 90's, before he was the famous actor he is today.
The 20th Anniversary edition: Incredibly disappointing. You'd think that the 20th anniversary would have more special features, more interviews, more behind the scenes, something. What we have is the complete opposite. Not only are there no more special features than any other release, this one has been stripped down of any special features at all. This is especially disappointing because with this film, I was really interested in the director's commentary, but not even that is on here. You pretty much have just the movie. So to recap, there are more special features available on the DVD than this one.

Excellent

After moving into a house with an 18 year old dryer, we decided it was time to seek out a new one. We're very happy we found this one.
We bought this on black friday, so we were able to get an excellent deal. If this happens to go on sale again, you may want to pick it up. Roper is not a widely known brand, but that just means you're not paying extra from the markup of a popular name. Roper is actually owned by Whirpool, so you're still getting a quality product. Thus far, we've loved this unit. It's runs so quietly that sometimes, we'll even forget that it's on. We just bought it, so we can't say much about the lifespan, but here's hoping that it lasts a while.
The only downside we've found is that there's no buzzer indicating the cycle is done. Our previous dryer did have one, but it was so loud it would wake up the baby. A lot of dryers now have the option to turn this on or off, but many still don't. So I guess if I had to pick between not knowing when it's done and waking our daughter, I'd pick no buzzer.
There's not really much else to say. This doesn't have a lot of fancy switches or digital displays or weird misting options, but I don't need those. I just need my dryer to dry clothes. If you're just looking for a good, solid dryer, this is it.

A diamond in the rough

We've only had this washer for about a month, so I can't comment on it's lifespan, but I will say that thus far we're very impressed. Usually, when it comes to applicances, names like Maytag and GE come up. Few have heard of Roper, which is to your advantage. Roper is actually owned by Whirpool, so you're getting a quality product without paying for the markup of a big brand name.
This unit is perfect if you just need a washer without bells and whistles. There are more than enough different cycles to choose from and the basket automatically adjusts so you don't have the loud rattling around if your clothes are uneven. There are even lights on the front that tell you where the washer is in the cycle.
It's not a high effeciency, it's not a huge front loader, it's just a good solid down-to-earth washer. My wife and I are thrilled with this one.

Best of the Series

I think the Die Hard movies are some of the greatest action movies ever made, and the third film is the best of all 4.
This movie is clearly for your typical men and those who love action movies. Everyone else will hate the blood, shooting, and profanity. Obviously, seeing the explosions and action sequenses in HD is what makes this movie worth the Blu Ray purchase, especially now that you can usually find it on sale for $10.
What's great about it: Non-stop action, story, keeps going until the very end
What's not so great: Language

Even better on Blu ray

Those who loved this movie and remember having it on VHS will be thrilled to see the crystal clear picture and improved sound on blu ray.
Comparing different versions of the Batman franchise is kind of apples and oranges. The Adam West version was for all the children who loved the zany TV show. The latest Dark Knight versions are for the "grown ups" who want to see a creepier but more intense version. The Tim Burton movies kind of land in the middle of those two. This re-imagination brings new life to the Batman and Joker characters.
Great movie. Even, dare I say, a classic.
What's great about it: Story, batmobile, Jack Nicolson, Michael Keaton
What's not so great: Not a lot

The best action movie since "Speed"

This movie is a great non-stop action movie with great acting and a well written script. Denzel Washington is always an amazing actor and a relatively unknown Chris Pine works well as the rookie conductor. The story is exciting, though the writers can't take all the credit for that given that this is based on actual events.
I do have to take issue with some of the camera work. There seems to be way too many camera shots that spin around the focus of attention, to the point that it gets a little dizzy. Though this one flaw seems minor in comparison to the rest of the film, and not enough to lose a star overall.
What's great about it: Story, acting, sound, script
What's not so great: Camera work

Better than you might think

We joke about Rocky's old age and the fact that there were so many previous Rocky movies, but this movie is almost in another category.
Rather than a movie about being a great fighter and trying to beat up the other person in the ring, this movie takes a more down to earth approach. What makes this film great (at least for me) was not the boxing scenes but the messages Rocky was trying to teach. It's not about getting hit, it's about being able to keep going.
This is a great movie that many people underestimated.
What's great about it: Story, message
What's not so great: Plot can get slow at times

If you liked Borat...
on February 11, 2010

Plain and simple, if you liked Borat, you're going to love Bruno. There are tons of dirty scenes (and they only black out the private parts), plenty of swearing and nudity, and can be extremely offensive. HOWEVER, if you're one of those people who can look past all that, you're going to find this movie extremely hilarious. It's one of those movies I'm almost ashamed to admit I like it.
What's great about it: Hilarious, doesn't hold back, constant jokes
What's not so great: Only for certain people

antenna / converter box

if I have a digital ready tv, what type of antenna do I need because I don"t have cable or sat. also am i correct in thinking I don't need a converter box?
If you have a digital ready TV, yes, you're ready to get HD channels. Today, pretty much every antenna out there is going to be "HD ready". But I'd spend a little more than $20 to get a half-way decent reception.

How many HDMI Cables will I need to buy?

How many HDMI Cables will I need to buy to hook up the following equipment listed below?

Plasma or LCD TV
Onkyo TX-NR5700 Receiver
Blu-ray
Wii
Directv
Thank you
Charlie
I have a setup very similar and I use 3 HDMI's. Direct TV to receiver, Blu-ray to reciever, reciever to TV; assuming your receiver has enough HDMI in and out. The Wii isn't HD, so even if you could hook that up with an HDMI, there'd be no point. That one I'd just hook up the "old fashion" way.
