I guess I was expecting something grreater from saturday Night Fever. I had wanted to see it for a long time so I finally bought it and decided it wasn't as good as I was expecting, but was still a decent movie. I think I liked John Travolta better in Grease.
What's great about it: Should still see it, it is a classic movie often referred to.
What's not so great: Not as much dancing as expected and a lot more R scenes than expected.
One of the most successful comedies of all time, Animal House gets its best DVD release yet with this "Double Secret Probation Edition." The film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and Dolby Digital Stereo. English and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a Delta Alumni update (a 20-minute featurette that offers interviews with the characters about where they are now), a making-of documentary that is informative but was included on previous DVD editions of the film, an animated trivia track that supplies information while watching the movie, and a music video by MxPx for the song "Shout." Any big fan of the film will not be ripped off by upgrading to this edition, although the casual fan probably does not need to bother.

Love this movie, I thought it might be corny but I laughed a lot. I would love to see an updated version!
Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan's high school comedy Can't Hardly Wait comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen transfer preserves the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and is preferable to the standard full-frame transfer. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Stereo, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages as well. Supplemental materials include a commentary track by the directors and cast, a photo gallery, a theatrical trailer, and the music video for Smash Mouth's "Can't Get Enough of You Baby." This is a solid disc from Columbia/TriStar.

There are so many movies that are about the last night of high school, but I thought it could be funny. It was alright definitely dated but that's kind of the fun of it seeing what terrible fashions were in. It was an average movie, similar to I love you Beth Cooper, except there isn't much interaction between the two like there is in I love you Beth Cooper.
What's great about it: good price, decent movie, typical high school cliques
