I was concerned beacuse this is not a powered device. Sometimes there is very noticable sound degradation from a non-powered switching device. NOT ON THIS ONE! Sound quality is great!
I hooked my iPod into it to watch movies from it on TV. Sound & picture quality is VERY VERY acceptable! No noticable loss of either picture or sound.
Seting up is simple plug your devices into the 'IN' ports & then run the cable from the 'OUT' port to your TV (or theatre system, cble box etc). VIOLA!
Works great with my iPod for watching shows with an ordinary (yellow/red/white) RCA to 1/8th (3.5mm, 3 stripe -- or Camcorder Cable) video cable.
For iPods -- you have to plug them into the ports as follows:
RED goes in YELLOW YELLOW goes in WHITE WHITE goes in RED
What's great about it: Easy to set up, no power required

Surprised at how long they last

I have used a 'heavy duty industrial, low-impedance' line of rechargeable batteries & a 'pro' charger for years. The charger is about 3x the cost of consumer models & usually found through battery distributors.
I was skeptical about purchasing these batteries for household use after being used to industrial battery performance.
If you are not getting satisfactory results from these batteries it mite be the charger. There are differences in the charging units and even though the charger says that the battery is full, it can only charge the cell to its own charging capacity. If you have a 2700 mah battery, your charger has to be able to charge it to that capacity, if isnt able to - the battery performance will suffer.
It is also important to 'condition' the batteries rather than continuously rapid charging them. Digital cameras are notoriously high drain because they also power the flash as well as the camera.
I condition these batteries in the above mentioned charger and get great results from them in a point and shoot Canon digital camera. They dont drain over time (weeks) and offer fast camera flash recycle time.
What's great about it: Lasts a decent time in a digital camera
