Unexpected Surprise...

This Means War is fluff cinema at it's finest. It doesn't pretend to be "Gone With The Wind" and revels in it's premise. The acting chemistry between Pine and Hardy carries the movie. They seem to enjoy working together and, when they get competitive, the screen bubbles with electricity. However, Reese Witherspoon continues to disappoint. I don't know if it's the roles, the direction, or the lack of likeability, but she's off her game. She comes across as wooden and forced. The bright side though is Chelsea Handler's screen time with Witherspoon. Handler has some pretty serious comedic chops and I would have loved to seen her get more screen time. Overall, this movie is a great action/comedy romp. The action scenes are fast, fluid, and exciting. The pace is brisk and all the supporting players bring something to the table. This is a definite rental, if not buy, for the action/comedy lover.
What's great about it: Chemistry between Chris Pine and Tom Hardy...
What's not so great: Reese Witherspoon's decent into mediocrity...

If you are reading this review, you are probably one of the many folks who have discovered how wonderful Sherlock is. Season 2 picked up right where it left off. Sherlock is still arrogant, Watson is still loyally befuddled, and Scotland Yard has to begrudgingly admit they need Sherlock. As the season unfolds, you will start to see chinks develop in Sherlock's armor and even his brother cannot stop the storm from approaching. The 3 episode season is admittedly short, but, the 1 1/2 length of each episode makes up for it. By the end of the third episode, the viewer will be entranced by the events that unfolded while admiring just how maniacally evil James Moriarty is. This is a can't miss purchase on Blu.
What's great about it: Writing, Acting, and Character Development.
What's not so great: Lack of 1080p and no substantial supplemental features.
I would recommend this to a friend!
