Works great

Due to the rake of my windshield and my desire not to have wires hanging in front of my line of sight I purchased the friction unit. It's also heavily weighted and doesn't move around even in vigorous driving. I've used them before in rental cars and since this is the first car we've bought in several years without a built in GPS this was the best solution.
What's great about it: Easy to see GPS unit when driving
What's not so great: Nothing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Garmin nüvi 50LM Portable GPS: Instead of trying to view maps while you drive or recruit a friend to act as navigator, let this portable GPS guide you to your destination. It features text-to-speech and turn-by-turn voice prompts that audibly provide directions, so you can keep your eyes on the road.

This is my first portable GPS; very happy with it.

This is my first portable GPS; the past few cars have had GPS built in. I've only used it one time since I bought but have used Garmins in rental cars. I'm very happy with the unit so far and don't expect any problems. I particularly like the friction mount as my windshield is steeply raked. It's also easy to update via the web.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Nothing so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Canon EF-S 15–85mm f/3.5–5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens: This versatile, everyday lens with standard zoom offers a broad focus range for almost any shot. The optical image stabilizer steadies the lens for blur-free handheld photos, and the aspherical lens with UD glass corrects aberrations for sharp, vibrant landscapes and portraits.

Great Lens

This is my new walk around lens. Even though it's heavier than the kit lens I like the range, 15-85 compared to 18-55. It's very sharp, focuses easily in low light, and colors seem more vibrant. Most of my pictures are landscapes and grandchildren. Even in doors with a flash and taking pics of a 1 year old and 3 year old it focuses fast enough to capture them. I can't be happier with this lens.
What's great about it: Sharp, good low-light autofocus, vibrant colors
What's not so great: little heavy
I would recommend this to a friend!
