NETGEAR Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender: Broaden your network connection with a range extender that gives you extra Wi-Fi coverage in your home. Smart LED indicators will direct you to the optimal location to plug the extender into the wall, so you can easily enjoy improved range and speed on your mobile and wired devices. Save on data usage by connecting your smartphone or tablet to your home network.
I bought this before we went on vacation. Worked as promised at home extending Actiontec router wifi network to part of house that never got a signal. Took it with us and used in two different houses, on two different networks. Usually can't get signals throughout rental homes (or my parents' house) but the Netgear extender worked like a charm. Everyone in family got signal and was happy. Wouldn't expect most people to chang network frequently but it is a bit of a pain to get a paper clip and reset device to change networks.

What's great about it: Worked first time on three different networks. Delivers what it promised. Good value
What's not so great: Need paper clip to reset if you change networks.
Sonos PLAY:3 Wireless Speaker: Fill your home with rich, dynamic sound with Sonos Play:3, a speaker that's versatile enough to put just about anywhere. Position it horizontally or vertically for a perfect fit in tight spots around your home like on bookshelves or a nightstand.
I am a huge Sonos fan and the Play:3 keeps up the rep of the entire family of products. Assuming you're adding to existing Sonos system: take it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on, press mute+vol up, and you are good to go (total setup ~2min).
I use (2) Play:3s to add 2 additional zones to existing Sonos system with ZoneBridge, ZonePlayer 120, and S5. Use whole system to stream Spotify, Rhapsody, Pandora and Napster, as well as NPR via IheartRadio and also connect to NAS to play from music library. Great sounds, no cables/wires, great coverage throughout house.
Build quality of Play:3 not quite as nice as Play:5 (fka S5), but still solid and higher quality than most consumer electronics. Sounds great. Sonos is expensive, but if you're looking for wireless system and streaming, it's great value, and Play:3 is excellent.
What's great about it: Sound quality, ease of setup, Sonos experience
What's not so great: a bit pricey, but still worth it

Typical laptop speakers do not provide the volume required for sm/med conference rooms. These speakers deliver great design and functionality for that specific application. They will not win any awards for sound quality, but that's not the point.
I used them to deliver audio for a DVD played from Sony Vaio and projected on screen for group of 15 in a large conference room. Plenty of volume, no distortion, and adequate sound.
Best of all, they are designed to be thrown into existing laptop bag -- no additional luggage required. Speakers magnets hold pair together (face-to-face). Included cable powers speakers through USB (didn't use included battery pack), provide stand for speakers via plug, and folds up into pocket in included case.
What's great about it: Perfect for boosting volume of laptop audio for presenting (or playing video) for groups of 5-25 in conference room.
