Excellent, easy to setup whole house system

This is not your typical whole house wifi system, first is the name "Orbi" instead of a couple of letters with some numbers to indicate the model, it has a name, which kinda tips you off that this is aimed at being an easy to use "friendly" device.
The box and packaging are of high quality and once you get everything out you see simplicity is what Netgear is after.
The base router and satellite look nothing like the usual black rectangle with lots of antennas on it, they are nice white oblong cylinders that are clearly marked so you know which is base and which isn't.
First thing to do is plug in the base router, attach to your internet source (cable or other type of router) with an Ethernet cable and then find another place, preferably in the middle of your house for the satellite. Once each is plugged in the setup is VERY simple. The base has a ring on top that glows to indicate it is connecting and then the light goes out showing it's done. The satellite does the same thing and if there is an issue i.e. It's too far away from the base it will glow pink indicating you have an issue and need to move closer to the base. The cool thing about the satellite is that unlike other wifi extenders it has the same network name as the base so there is no need to switch networks to get the added range of the Orbi system.
Once that's all done the rest of the setup is easy, by connecting to the Orbi via wifi and just visiting the setup web site indicated in the instructions.
I was up and running in a matter of minutes. The only thing missing is a guest network but from what I understand that will be coming in an update shortly.
As for performance, there is absolutely no degradation is speed when I am hooked up to the Orbi's wifi which for me is 150/150.
With the placement of the satellite in the middle of my house and the base at the other end of my house my almost 4000 square foot house is fully covered with a very strong wifi signal.
I have multiple devices hooked into Orbi including 4 Apple TV's and many other iPads etc and it handles all the traffic with no glitches.
In closing, this is a very easy to setup and use whole house system that is in a new and unique looking package. The only downfall is the lack of a guest network but as mentioned that will be updated shortly. I would absolutely recommend this to the expert and novice alike.

Pet hair magnet

We have 2 cats that live almost exclusively in our basement as we have a dog who reigns supreme upstairs and the cats want nothing to do with him. The basement is semi finished with rugs and couches etc, we also keep the litter boxes there. With the cats lazing about on the rugs, furniture and tracking litter all over we need a vacuum that can deal with all that having pets entails.
This vacuum does just that. It's fairly easy to assemble out of the box with pieces snapping into place and clear instructions on how to do so.
Also included is a Febreeze filter that you need to choose to install instead of the factory default one which is just a plain filter. I chose to install the Febreeze one.
Now on to how it works, the suction on this is great and the body swivels which is a great feature. Also included is the led lit crevice tool and turbo eraser attachment which make getting into smaller areas a breeze. Another cool feature is how the roller brush will not get tangled with hair etc with the tangle free brush roll.
This is a bag less vacuum which is very convenient and it emptys with ease, and you don't have to come in contact with all the stuff you vacuumed up.
Overall a great choice for pet loving households and another plus...after vacuuming with the Febreeze filter, the whole room had a fresh scent for long after I was done using the vacuum.

Convenient charging for your Apple Watch & iPhone

If you have an Apple Watch you obviously have an iPhone as well.
While the magnetic charging cable is cool for the watch, you still need to rest it on your nightstand etc to charge overnight. You also need to charge your phone so there you have the Lightning cable in your phone and the magnetic charging cable on your watch with the wires all over the place, and the need for two plugs to plug your Apple adapter into.

That's where this charging dock comes in.
First off I will say I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging. Once you open up the box, the other thing you notice when holding the dock is the weight and heft of the charging dock. The construction of the dock itself is Apple like quality, very well constructed. Also included is a wall adapter. The great thing about this dock compared to others I have seen is it also has its own built in lighting connector, a lot of other iPhone charging docks require you to use one of your exiting lighting cables so this is very convenient. Also and this is key, there is a cool wheel located in the back of the dock that extends and retracts the Lightning connector to allow you to utilize the charging dock with your phone with the case still on it, I tried it with a couple of cases I have and the Lightning cable extends sufficiently to accommodate most cases it seems.
The watch portion is pretty straightforward, the magnetic base to mount your watch for charging works seamlessly and charges your watch along with the phone with ease.
Getting back to the heft of the dock, because it is heavy you are able to check your emails on the phone, maybe set an alarm with Siri etc as its charging in the base and it pretty much doesn't budge which is convenient. I placed this on my nightstand next to my bed and it not only looks great but works great.
So overall I would highly recommend this to anyone with an Apple Watch. Kudos to Belkin.

Aptly named great sounding headphones

Quiet Comfort is not just a name...it truly describes these great headphones...
Comes in nice high quality packaging and includes a protective case that feels nice to the touch to house the headphones when not in use.
Setup is real easy especially with the BoseConnect App that you can get from the App Store or Google Play...just launch the App, put the QC35 in pairing mode and a pic will appear of the QC35's, slide the pic of the headphones down and they are paired..,that simple!

Not only are these wireless but they have rechargeable batteries, I charged them to 100% before using as I wanted to get a good feel for battery life outside of the box...all I can say is battery life is loooooong...I have put these to good use and can say it's at least 20hrs per charge when used wirelessly...Bose says the battery will last just about 40 hrs when used wired (which is another option by the way but why would you buy these to use wired?) but 20 hrs of use between charges is fantastic to me..
Now for the sound and noise cancelling...
Put the headphones on first before powering on...they are comfortable on the ears...can be worn on your head with or without a hat and glasses are no problem as well...they are not too heavy and the pillows around the ear and on the top of the headphones just add to the comfortable feel...
When you first turn them on without any music you immediately notice the noise cancelling technology kick in....all of a sudden the world goes quiet...it's pretty cool actually...
Then just put on your favorite tune and feel the sound envelope you...bass is rich, there is absolutely no distortion at all and I have listened to everything from classical to bass heavy dance tunes, and movies on my iPad and the QC35's handle everything like a champ...
A couple of other cool things, they can pair with numerous devices (I believe the limit is 8) and can be connected to up to 2 of those devices at a time and there are audio prompts that come through the headphones to give info on devices connected, battery life left etc...the QC35's as I mentioned above work with Apple and Android devices and there are convenient control buttons on the headphones to increase volume, skip forward or back, answer a call etc...
As for handling phone calls they are adequate, the phone call sound is fantastic in the QC35's but feedback from those I was speaking to was there was some background noise apparent, not too much but I thought I'd mention it...I only use for calls as a secondary use not the primary use so this is a non issue for me certainly and probably for most...
Lastly, if your battery does run out all is not lost, you can in fact use the QC35's wired with a dead battery and the only thing you will lack will be the noise cancelling features....I haven't had occasion to have to use in this manner but it's great to know you can if you need to...
Overall these are fantastic headphones that are second to none for comfort, sound quality, battery life and ease of use...

Ok, so in the tablet world you have the iPad that started the genre and you have all the others...
This is a wifi only (no cellular) tablet that has a satisfyingly large 16:9 screen, is very light feeling in the hands (and I like the textured back as it feels less likely to slip out of ones hands with this back), and has in my experience so far a really great battery life. Memory is expandable with a micro sd slot on the side. The Iconia One also has a pretty cool split screen mode that allows you to do certain multitasking items at the same time such as watching a YouTube video on one side and having your Gmail open on the other side.
Setup is typical Android OS and there are options to set up proprietary Acer cloud based features for pics, docs and such.
There are two speakers on either side of the tablet and of note, while you can use it in either portrait or landscape (horizontal) mode, the speakers (two of them on either side of the screen while in landscape) and the hard buttons are situated so the best way to use the tablet is horizontally, and it's a widescreen (16:9) ratio so it just feels like it was meant to be used this way.
The screen resolution is ok, not the sharpest but it does get pretty bright at the highest setting. Also the screen feels like its gorilla glass so it's tough but as is typical with some of these screens it's a fingerprint magnet.
The speakers sound somewhat tinny at times but if you use headphones this is not much of an issue.
On a few occasions the Acer was not responsive on the first finger press on a particular item or task so I had to press a couple of times to make things happen.
At this price point you do get a lot for your money.
The Iconia One is a great tablet to give to the kids or as a tablet you take with you for movies on long trips (I do love the 16:9 screen) just keep in mind some of the cons. But again, I feel for this price point you can't beat what you are getting.

Great way to increase your Wifi coverage area

Plug it in near your current router, hit the WPS button on your router and then on the range extender, it's as simple as that...once you have a steady green light you are good on 2GHZ, repeat the same operation for the 5GHZ band, wait for the green then you are all set.
Then the really cool part, Linksys has Spot Finder Technology, just launch this in your mobile devices browser (in my case I used an iPad) and it will let you know where the optimal place is to plug the range extender in.
Mine was in a plug in my living room, I utilized the same names as my original network the the suffix EXT to delineate the range extender, checked my speed via Speedtest.net and was very pleased with the results, did not lose much but so note it's not as fast as your original network which is normal for range extenders that I have used.
Overall a great way to augment your current Wifi Router to increase range in an easy straightforward way.

Enterprise grade WiFi for the home and then some..

My Wifi demands are very high with over 30 items connected to my home Wifi network, the router provided by Verizon was adequate but I was found wanting more in the range and speed department.
Problem solved with this state of the art router by Linksys!
Fist off it is a large unit and comes very well packaged with the router, power supply, short Ethernet cable and documentation on a CD. It also has some nice heft to it, doesn't feel light and flimsy which is certainly satisfying.
I have Arlo Cameras, a Wink Hub, Sonos, August doorbell and cam among numerous Apple TV's etc so I was prepared for some installation glitches due to all of the things I have going on...boy was I pleasantly proved wrong!
I cascaded the connection from my Verizon supplied router to the EA9500 and at first I didn't get anything but then turned the Verizon router, Linksys and IMac off then back on and voila! It all worked!
Right off the bat I had no issues, setup appeared and I was ready to configure everything to my liking.
All settings are available from either the desktop, browser on a mobile device or the Smart Wifi App.
It's great to see everything on the Network Map and it's real handy to be able to prioritize devices such as Apple TV's to insure they have the best signal possible when needed.
The range on this is incredible, I am still tweaking the proper placement of the eight...yes eight antennas...to get the best signal throughout my house but it's pretty good right out of the box.
There is a tremendous difference in range and in places where I had issues before such as my garage now have a very strong signal and the signal now extends throughout a large portion of my property outside as well. As for speed, it is blazing fast transferring the 150/150 I have to the house over 5hz to all items capable of such speeds..
Overall I would recommend this to anyone seeking uncompromising fast, whole house Wifi, with ease of setup and great customization options...

Excellent alternative to built in speakers

I purchased this to go with my iPad Air, I have Jawbone Jambox and various other Bluetooth speakers as well so I have pretty vast experience with items such as this. This speaker by far blows them all away for size, price and performance. The soundstage is fantastic and the bass response and voice clarity are second to none.
I considered trying Bose as well as others but the thing I like about this over other type speakers is the fact you can also use it as a stand for your tablet. It truly gives a cinematic experience when viewing movies.
The only issue I have which is the issue with most Bluetooth speakers, is at times, depending upon the source material there is a slight lag and sync issue with the audio, this is corrected by just using the headphone jack to connect to the speaker but is annoying if you do need to do so.
Luckily it's rare and most of the time the audio is perfectly in sync.

To sum up, great size and weight, FANTASTIC fidelity and soundstage (as well as bass I might add, I don't know what other are listening to that say this doesn't sound awesome) and a great value for what you get in such a tiny package.

Is there a way to download the software not by CD? My computer is an an ultrabook and doesn’t have a CD/DVD drive.
You can just add the printer in your printer settings via WiFi, I did not have to use the CD to load any drivers.

I want to use HUE lights with this. Can I buy a 2nd Google Home for my 2nd floor so both floors can access Home to turn off/on lights? If my phone (synced to Home) is out of the house, will voice activation still work for the lights?
This will work with Hue, you should be able to have multiple units in your house and they will work without the phone that is linked to them in the house.
