Cool looking, but not good for Radio Reception

I have a Sony HD Tabletop radio and thought I'd try this antenna. I had been using some speaker wire strung through the trees next to my house. Well, I hooked this up, plugged it in, and found that the wire outside picked up better. Admittedly, I'm more interested in AM DXing than FM, but I couldn't pick up anything with this. I had it grounded, hooked up correctly, and got mediocre reception. Do yourself a favor, go with an outside antenna if you're serious about your radio reception. Best Buy was fantastic and allowed me to return it.
What's great about it: Looks hi tech, Best Buy let me return it.
What's not so great: Speaker wire strung outside works better
To me, it seems that Metallica lost the plot after "The Black Album", "St. Anger" was interesting, but in a group therapy car wreck sort of way, put on film in "Some Kind Of Monster", it was fascinating to watch. Thankfully, Rick Rubin has brought out the Metallica that some (most?) fans thought was gone. This album kicks you in the face, easily their their best album since "...And Justice For All". If you are a fan of "Kill Em All" through "...and Justice For All" Metallica, you will love it, if you are a fan of the '90's albums (which weren't bad at all, btw), this may take some getting used to. This Vinyl edition has amazing sound, the gatefold opens with a great picture of the band and lyrics. The CD probably does too, but you can actually read these, unlike trying to read a CD. If you have a good turntable with a good cartridge, vinyl beats cd's hands down. Please offer more Vinyl, Best Buy!!!
What's great about it: Riffs, Drums...did I mention Riffs? Hetfield is on top of his game.
What's not so great: The bass could be pumped up a little.
It takes a lot of patience to get into this album, but it is well work looking into. Walker has never been very big here in the U.S., except as 1/3 of the Walker Brothers in the 60's and late 70's. Bowie, Eno and Bryan Ferry cite him as influences, so if you're into any of them, this may be of interest. Cossacks Are sounds a lot like Radiohead (or rather, Radiohead have been listening to Scott Walker). "Clara" seems to be from the viewpoint of someone trapped in one of the Twin Towers on 9/11(at least that is my interpretation of it). "Jolson and Jones" is a fictional meeting of the 30's singing greats with some of the strangest lyrics ever put to vinyl, tape, whatever. "A Lover Loves" ends the album on an optimistic note, showing hope above all. Give this a try, you will either love it or hate it, but you won't be sitting on the fence.
What's great about it: Scott Walker is still pushing the musical envelope
What's not so great: Not everybody's gonna like it.
