The "Coffee Table Book" of DVDs

Being a subscriber to Netflix, I have no real reason to own a DVD collection. After reading Baraka reviews, I made an exception and I am glad I did. This DVD was produced using the highest of production values regarding audio and video. You are taken on a journey to some wonderful, far away places that any well traveled person will recall and appreciate.
Great for meditation and to simply escape. If you can rent the BR DVD and I am pretty sure that you will not only want to add (or start) to your collection, you will want to share the experience with friends and family.
What's great about it: Exceptional audio and Video Quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Product!

• After reading many reviews from BB and other resources, I was confused why so called audiophiles tend to stray and/or have negative comments about DT speakers. I am no audiophile, but I love great sounding audio from movies and music. That said, I bought the Pro 1000 without hearing it first and connected it to my 5.1 system and was very impressed with what I heard. This speaker replaced and infinity (good speaker) and the audio quality improvement was immediately noticeable even before calibration.
• The center channel information is very precise without being overbearing. In fact, this speaker blends very well with the rest of the speakers. I had been satisfied previously with the center channel being autonomous, but now I really like the improved sound stage and how I feel more surrounded (in a very good way) by the audio. I have become very accustomed to my original speakers over time, but I am now strongly considering a 100% DT speaker system. In a word, Bravo!
What's great about it: Sound Quality, Footprint, Aesthetics
What's not so great: Need to buy more DT Speakers
I would recommend this to a friend!

will a universal remote actually power on/off all devices so that these devices will not be needed?

I have been an owner of the Harmony One remote and only powers on those items that are required for a specific function: If I select "radio", just my receiver turns on. If I select TV only those devices required to watch TV are turned on and so on.

i lost my remote to my bose 321 do i have to use bose remote?

Apologies for not being able to answer you Bose remote question specifically, however, if you are ever in the market to consolidate and/or replace multiple remotes with one, I purchased the Harmony One remote a few months ago and I could not be happier. The set up was easy although it require a little time. Now that I have "retired" the 5 remotes that the Harmony One replaced, my entire family is much happier with the ease of use regarding our entertainment center. My 7 year old daughter uses all of the remote functions intuitively.

Although a bit pricey, I am glad that I purchased it. Harmony does make other more affordable models. You want to consider.

picture quality

i am looking for a fast loading blueray player, and do all blueray players have the same picture quality...if not which one has the best pic quality...i dont really need one that had all that wifi stuff just want to watch blueray movies on my new led tv with the best picture around
Most major market brands offer quality that is difficult to distinguish between them. that said. The reference player that is commonly used by which to measure other players is Oppo. check out the research information here.

BluRay audio hookup

I have a Sony digital 5.1 digital reciever. Which generation of blu-ray player will allow me to get 5.1 digital surround sound?
All current model BR players will allow 5.1 digital sound. A few things to consider:

Source: analog (RCA type) or HDMI
Newer players (3D, deep color) may require 1.3 HDMI cables
Some players (LG 570) do not have analog connections

Most of the new players have True HD which offers uncompressed (full) audio.

My HD receiver is full..I want to move the items in there to another source and save them...should I get a blu-ray(I dont see where they record? or )

or should I get an ext HD..but how do I move them from there? any help..is appreciated
I recently purchased a 1tb external drive that I plan to use as you have indicated. The setup was very easy (comparable to to a thumb drive) and the size drive (s) available range from very minimal to multiple terabytes. Recently some Br player have been available with on board storage for files that you would load from an external source (USB, network etc) and not recorded from the disc itself.

Hope this helps

Blu-Ray vs. PS3

In the market for a blu-ray player. What are pros/cons of getting a PS3 vs. a blu-ray (the one I'm looking at is the Sony BDP-S570 wifi built in)
Seems a simple matter of personal preference. Specifically, if you (or family members) are "gamers" the PS3 is a better choice. If you never plan to game then go with the s570. I considered the Sony S570 and finally decided on LG 570 based on feedback from owner/friends. The Sony is 3D capable and the LG is not, additionally the LG dos not have analog audio connections which is not important to me.

Which Blu-ray player lets me control it not the DVD

I like to control the dvd player. I hate putting a dvd in and having to skip through previews (Samsung). I want to press the menu button and go to the menu!! Any suggestion?
Quite annoying I agree. One solution I have found helpful on the Samsung Bpd 3600 (for example) is to disable the BDlive function, therefore prohibiting the player from searching the internet for previews. Alternatively, after the BR disc is loaded navigate to "main menu or disc menu. Depending of the title, you will navigate directly to the main menu.

Hope this helps

Why does it say my new blu ray has to be updated to play a movie?

Welcome to the wonders of the future!

There are several reasons. Most commonly if it is a specific movie it could be Codecs, Divx, BD Live info or some application standard that the DVD producers failed to recognize at the time of final production. Try Googling the movie and see if there is a known problem for the title.

What do i need to stream netflix, panadora and youtube wirelessly via wireless modem at home?

You will need a device that is capable of such functions. Fortunately, you have many options, from wireless BD player, TV, and stand alone devices such that Netflix offers for sale. In my opinion, LG offers the best suite for connectivity to , Youtube, MLB, Accuwheather, Pandora, Netflix and a few others.

Hopefully, it goes without saying that you need to have a decent internet service, such as cable, DSL etc.

which blueray has the best picture quality or all of them are the same

As your question eludes, there are so many variables regarding picture quality, it is often very difficult to pin point the component that is the best or most detrimental to the cause. For general viewing (and not spectrum analysis), most top name players will be about the same.
