Radar827's Reviews

After countless packagings of a few episodes here and there, Warner Bros. finally did the right thing and released Challenge of the Super Friends in a two-disc season one set. Now you too can skip through each and every adventure of the Hall of Justice battling the Legion of Doom in the comfort of your own living room with the help of your trusty DVD player. This time, the disc's producers enlist the help of some of DC's renowned comic creators to help join in on the nostalgic fun. Extras on this 16-episode set include a 13-minute featurette "Saturday, Sleeping Bags & Super Friends: A Retrospective" -- a look back at the series from the eyes of artist extraordinaire Alex Ross, along with writers Paul Dini, Mark Waid, Geoff Johns, and the more recent Justice League TV series producer James Tucker. Additionally, Waid and Johns show up on two commentary tracks, where they wax poetic on the characters, their childhood memories, and the sheer shoddiness of the show's production values. With nice picture quality and a solid Dolby Digital Mono sound option, this disc is a must-have for fans of the show and a nice addition to your DVD rack, with packaging designed in line with the Batman: Animated Series -- Volume One box set released at the same time.

I loved these Super Friend episodes as a kid in the 70's and now I can pass them on to my kids! I had to slow down after watching the first 4 episodes in one sitting with my 7 year old.
I would recommend this to a friend!
