We have used numerous robot vacuums through the years. We recently redid all our floors in wood, so the robots are great for getting up crumbs, fuzz, etc. without the need for a “deep” clean. Most robot vacuums are round with little “curb feelers” to get the corners. While this should work great in theory, it rarely solves the corner problem. I have always done a spot check after the run through and picked up the corner fuzzballs.
Enter the newer D shaped units. The “other brand” makes one too. We have one, and it does a good job. The corner issue is solved by the shape. The robot spins itself to fit tightly into the right angles and has enough suction to get the fuzz out. The Neato works the exact same way, fitting itself to corners and cleaning everywhere.
I did not think it would do a better job than our other D robot. It’s less expensive, not “the” brand. I was wrong. The suction is amazingly strong and pulls pet hair and fuzzballs from inches away. It simply does a better job at getting up ALL the dirt. The bin is a bit larger, still have to empty it manually, and the battery lasts through a whole downstairs cycle. Area rugs of any pile height are not a problem for the oversized wheels. It gets stuck in random spots for no reason and chimes for you to rescue it, but I have not had a robot vacuum that doesn’t do that. So the hardware and function is solid and in some ways (suction) superior to the more expensive brands.
Getting it on WiFi and setting it up is easy. Requires registration like everything else, but detects and connects quickly.
The mapping is simple and accurate. That’s one thing I always have issues with on the other one. Neato has simple mapping, with easy to add no-go zones. The software/app overall is a bit over simplified and not quite fully baked. It really is easier sometimes to push the physical button and let the thing run for now. The devs are working on it, but it’s not a rocket science robot just yet.
I prefer it to the other one we have for the one reason that it actually cleans better. The suction is better, the surface changing is smoother. No crumbs spilled out on the floor or fuzzballs left in its wake. Those are big issues and have led me away from robots the last year or so. This one seems to have that part down. Time will tell if it continues and if the software comes along to match the cleaning quality. For price and function, I recommend. Just remember, it’s a robot, not a miracle worker and you will need to actually run a “real” vacuum every so often.

Convenient and fast!

Insignia products are high quality and budget friendly as a rule, and this simple fold away charger is no exception. USB-A chargers have faded away in favor of the much faster and easier to connect USB-C protocol. My brand new iPad Mini 6 and iPhone 14 Pro both included charging cables with USB-C connections. The catch now is that, in the interest of conserving resources, Apple no longer includes the wall plug portion in the new device packaging. Enter the insignia USB-C wall charger block. Its universal for devices with a USB-C cable, and it’s solid as a rock with convenient fold away prongs. So you have a fast charging (exponentially faster than all those USB-A plugs you have collected over the years, no matter what color dot is on them), easy to carry and store power adapter. This little guy is your friend at an airport for sure! It takes so little time to charge and it will plug right into the ports in the gate waiting areas. And with the prongs folded in, you won’t jab your fingers trying to find it in your bag! It’s a no brainer to replace the weaker, older blocks and insignia is a reliable brand every time.

Make sure you know what you’re getting

Be sure you truly want a mechanical keyboard! This one is extremely well built—and I mean solid as a rock. It’s also as heavy as a rock, which is good for a mechanical board because the keystrokes require force and movement. The colors and cloud wrist rest are cute, but this is the real deal for typing.
But it doesn’t translate so well to gaming for us. First of all, no number pad. The PC strategy games we play benefit from that pad and it was missed. Programming hot keys is simple, as it should be, and making the colors change is fun.
Secondly, the angle of your wrist is completely different for a true mechanical keyboard than what you’re likely used to on a regular desktop rig or gaming laptop. The fatigue built quickly, and this keyboard was shoved away for the “easier” travel of the flatter board.
And third, it’s just not practical. It’s touted as super portable, but despite the condensed sized, it’s super heavy. Durable and long battery life, but I’m not throwing it in my bag to use as an alternate on any given outing.
Overall—it’s the quality expected from Logitech. High end fit and finish. Easy connectivity. Intuitive to set up and use. If you truly want the mechanical experience, this is a good choice. But I found that despite the allure, I really didn’t.

High Quality - Not MagSafe

Modal makes beautiful cases. This one is soft and smooth, a lovely soft periwinkle color that is almost white. The case is extremely light (some silicone cases add too much heft to the device) but still substantial enough to be protective from short drops. The inside of the case is nicely lined with a sueded surface to further cushion the phone and keep it from getting surface scratches. The phone easily snaps into the case with all buttons aligned and ports accessible. The bottom of the case is closed, not open as some, with port cut outs for mic and speakers. Buttons are covered and easy to press. There is a slight raised edge to keep the face of the phone from touching a surface when laid flat. It does not impede normal swiping on the screen.
The camera cut out has a nice raised edge for protection, so the lenses are never flat to a surface and won’t get damaged.
I did not notice any fuzz pickup when the phone was in my pocket, and it did not “stick” when I pulled it in and out like some lesser silicone cases are prone to do. That is a pet peeve of mine and this case avoids the fuzz problem.
One drawback—although this case allows wireless charging to work, it does NOT have a MagSafe ring. So any MagSafe accessories or mounts are not compatible.

Top notch wireless MagSafe charger

I had a different brand wireless MagSafe charger in the car for over a year. It was fine, but large, round, and the phone wasn’t super “stuck” to it. Enter iOttie. High quality as expected! Soft touch materials all around, oblong shape that actually fits the phone perfectly. The magnet connection on this one is VERY solid. It clicks into place and does not move while driving over bumpy roads. The clip is soft touch and grabs the vent just as it should without damaging any surfaces.
Please note—the “wireless” part refers to the fact there is no need to plug anything into your phone. Of course you have to connect the actual charger to a power source in your car, and the cord and adapter are provided if you need one. USB-C, so most cars already have a jack these days and no need for the adapter.
I highly recommend iOttie brand, and this wireless MagSafe car charger is no exception! The color is a bit odd because I like my charger to fade into the black dash, but navy is all the rage, so this ticks that box too.

Even the packaging is peaceful. Seriously, someone put thought into this product all the way out to how the box unfolds. Beyond that is an easy to install, intuitive product with an intuitive app to match.
Installation is simple as matching wires, so be sure you take a picture of how your former thermostat is hooked up. From there, watch the video for installation of the ecobee. I did have to touch up a screw hole and some paint since the ecobee is a different footprint. Download the app, walk through the setup/Wi-Fi connection, etc. and you’re done.
All the usual settings and schedules are available here and some welcome additions like voice assistant (no matter which one you use) and machine learning to determine the best settings for when you are home and away. There is an additional sensor available as well that allows you to place it in a second room (we all have a hot zone somewhere) so the thermostat knows that spot is cooling or heating as well.
Ecobee also works with my utility company’s automatic “turn down the AC because everyone in town is pulling so much power right now” feature. They can hop in and adjust the temp settings during those times to help ease the burden.
This unit is more attractive and easier to use than my previous smart thermostat. I recommend.

This hairdryer is supposed to use nano particles to infuse/preserve moisture significantly better than ionic units. So the air is processed through the dryer and spits out as moisturized instead of simply blowing dry heated air. I don’t see any difference in that regard.
I do see a heavier dryer, which is not a plus. It tries to make up for the heft by having the oscillating attachment do all the work. It works, but I’d rather move my own hand with a lighter dryer. I found myself fighting with the oscillation instead benefiting from it. Imagine you are working to style a spot and pull away, but the head turns back to blow at the styled hair again. It’s frustrating.
The one thing that does stand out is the cool shot. This is the first blow dryer I have used that actually has a working and targeted cool shot. So I can heat and cool-lock style with the dryer. That in itself is beautiful.
The dryer is well made and obviously high quality. I expect it to last several years, and the heaviness likely has to do with quality parts and engineering. It does dry a little more quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quality build and sound as expected from Sony!

The first thing you’ll note is the minimalist packaging and design of the headphones. They are the lightest I have tried and all soft touch surfaces. Ear pieces are comfortable and the headband is not obtrusive—it doesn’t feel like it’s weighing down.
You need the app for these, and it’s a great app. All adjustments to sound are made through the app and there are features like 360 immersive sound accessible through the app. There is a sample of that feature that will blow you away, but content is limited even with a required third party subscription service. I’ll wait for more brands to hop into that even though it does sound phenomenal.
Music and movies sound rich and deep, and Bluetooth pairing to a streaming device, phone, or PC is intuitive and simple. Answering calls is seamless in the middle of other activities. Linking these to my desk phone was even simple! I can be on a video conference call without distractions at home.
Sony makes outstanding headphones and these are no exception. The sound is amazing, features are actually useful and well thought, and the comfort stands out. One caveat on these—no sweat! Don’t plan to use these while you work out. They will not tolerate sweat or rain.

Easy setup, two trays convenient

HP knows printing. I expected easy set up and easy printing, and this little inkjet machine provides both. It also does borderless photo printing from a separate tray I can keep loaded with 4x12 photo paper for quick prints from my phone. Love not having to change paper type and size to print photos. It will print photos from either tray for other sizes, but 4x6 is the go-to for convenience. The photos actually look much better than what I have gotten lately from my local corner store.
The app is not necessary since you can print to any network printer from a phone anyway, but it allows some extras that are nice to control without get on the computer or standing at the little color screen on the printer. I prefer the app to either of those options, and it tracks your need for ink. The endless ink is basically a handy subscription service that knows when to order more and automatically does so for you through the app. It will take more use to see how accurate that process is, but HP has been doing it a while so I suspect it’s as painless as getting my contacts refilled and magically to my door prior to running out!
The printer is not one I’d trust kids to handle a lot, but it seems sturdy enough for a couple years home use. It is touted for home and leans to photo printing, and I agree with that. For business needs, buy laser. Ink jet does photo color best, but is not a business machine.

Good addition to a cleansing routine

I’ll begin by saying I have rosacea and that makes me wary of facial products that could irritate my skin. This one does not. I used my own cleanser with it and followed the instructions provided. The massage provided is gentle and uses the same technology employed by Sonic vibration toothbrushes. Do not expect a violent deep scrub of pores from this. But it does cleanse and gently massage. It is fairly easy to clean, and that is important when you are using something repeatedly on your face. I would say this is a worthwhile addition to a cleansing routine, but it did not replace my wipes for getting dirt and makeup off my skin.

I work in construction and these are supposedly noise canceling, how good are they with the outside noise and wind?
Excellent noise cancelling. I was my car with the radio on full blast and could only hear the headphones.
