Good 2.1 sound, wire-free sub

EASY. Right out of the box and onto the console, hooked up and ready to go. I needed a soundbar setup for my 11X15 loft office. I have a 46" television up there with horrendous built-in sound. Sony is known for great sound, but in this world of everyday 7.1 channel systems, I had my expectations pretty low. Enter technology. Throw the bluetooth sub somewhere (anywhere) discrete in the room, and turn on the television. The faux surround mode actually works in a small space just as it is designed! I now have clear, rich sound in a space where the TV was an afterthought, and I find myself cozying up there much more often! This system would be good in a bedroom, or small living area--and will fill such a space with high quality sound. Don't put it in your great room and expect a miracle.

All around great LITTLE speaker

Lifeproof is known for keeping phones safe and water, shock, drop, ran-over-it-with-the-car proof. This smallest in the line of new of new Lifeproof speakers brings that protection to a pool party, beach combing, hiking camping dynamo. Not surprisingly, every crevice and crack is sealed from dust, sand, and water. And the build quality is top notch. Soft touch buttons that let the user pause, play, skip, and turn the volume up and down also have easy to read LED indicators. The audio-in and USB charging ports are covered and protected. There is a locking caribiner style latch for hanging the light weight speaker on a bag or backpack, or from the ceiling of a tent (as we did this weekend). All that is expected, what I did not expect was such rich sound from what looks like a transistor radio! No, this is not a fill-the-house party speaker, but it is certainly more robust and clear than other speakers its size. I was pleasantly surprised and felt the price point was well justified. Great sound, go-anywhere portability, and drop form a mountainside durability--terrific package.

This little wonder takes some time off your wine wait for reds! No need to "let it breathe" if you use the Ullo. The device comes in a handsome, high end package. It has a soft-touch, quality feel, no flimsy plastic anywhere to be found. And it's super simple to use. You can use it per glass or on a decanter. I tried it both ways. Basically, the Ullo sits on the top of your glass (it fits perfectly, no matter the wine glass). You pour your wine directly into the Ullo, and it aerates the wine and filters out the sulfates as it makes it way to the container. Taste the wine right out of the bottle. Then run it through the Ullo. I'm no wine snob, but I'm a red blend/cab fan, and my unsophisticated palate readily could tell the difference!

This thing will play tunes through blue tooth for 20 hours. That's impressive! The build quality is stellar. Soft touch materials, substantial weight, water tight gasket around the ports, and the lights are pretty amazing. No doubt it will stand up nicely to pool and beach abuse, and it looks nice in the living room. It's definitely not a toss it in your bag and head to the pool accessory--this is a more serious gadget that that, and it's fairly large. Everything about the build says high quality. Sound is crisp and clear with no distortion even at high volume. It will fill a room with good sound, but you are not going to get stereo, subwoofer sound from a little box, and it should not be expected. The clarity at high volume is great, but it's still a mono speaker. Don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a bass powerhouse, despite the branding. Yes the bass sounds good--for one speaker. The XB40 is one of the best of its genre, and the phone app for the lights is a neat little feature.

Simple and strong

I recently began using a new home office upstairs. Everything in it is on my wireless network powered by the modem/router combo device from my ISP. That device sits at the exact opposite corner of the house on the first floor. WiFi was spotty. Enter Velop. Wow. Download the app. Follow the directions. Boom. Strong wifi in every part of the house--AND outside!! I can set priority for individual devices, create a guest network, see where all the bandwidth is going at any point in time, and create a blacklist of devices and/or websites for parental controls. I can turn the wifi off for any device remotely from my phone. It's completely autonomous and super easy.

Great gadget, does its job easily

The Ninja resides at the office since my wife's coworkers are much more inclined to eat smoothies than me. They all love it for the quality and easy clean up. Clean up is a big deal with any blender, and the Ninja is a glorified blender. If it's hard to clean, people will not use it. being able to prepare smoothies in the same container you drink them from is nice and simple. We have only prepared smoothies--yogurt, fruit, ice, veggies, peanutbutter, flax seed, nuts, etc. and it works great. We have not tried it to make meals or dough.

Amazing, easy, reliable!

We have had a spate of small thefts from locked vehicles in our neighborhood lately. We got these cameras as a way to provide the police with footage of any suspicious activity around the exterior of the house and driveway. These cameras are a cinch to set up--literally plug and play. If you can follow simple instructions, you can set this network up in minutes. The huge angle of visibility makes one camera enough to cover the entire front of our home, and one camera for the back and yard. Motion detection is spot on. If motion is detected, you get an alert and a 10 second clip. A HIGH QUALITY COLOR and clear AUDIO 10 second clip. No grainy shadows--even in the dark, the night vision is very clear. Setting up scheduled times for recording and being able to adjust that schedule or override it with the touch of the app on your phone is ridiculously easy. Oh, mounting consists of one screw in a wall and a seriously powerful magnet that attaches the camera to the mount. I recommend mounting out of reach outside, as it would be super easy for someone to remove the camera from the mount if they knew where it was. I admit, we used these in the house the first week to peek in on the secret life of our two dogs. It was a great way to get acclimated to the camera features, and it was pretty fun---here's a hint, our dogs obviously do not have contact with Kevin Hart. Their secret lives are pretty boring.

These heads are compact, soft, comfortable, and very effective. My main complaint with electric brushes is the mess. These heads eliminate the mess simply by being long enough and small enough to do the job and not make a mess. They are cost effective as well since a two pack will last through six months!
The Sonicare app tracks the wear of the brush heads based on time and pressure used, so you know when it's time to replace. The heads last about 90 days of twice daily 2+ minute sessions.

"I can't wait to get home to brush my teeth," is not a phrase I have ever even thought before. But I said it --out loud-- at work-- yesterday. Then I showed my coworkers my toothbrush app. It's a bold new world out there.
I have used electric toothbrushes in the past. they were messy and loud, and just not worth the effort. This one is different, and the fact that it connects to my iPhone is just fun(and useful)!
First of all, the heads are small enough to actually fit my mouth and hit every surface without slobbering all over the whole thing--gross, but true. The handle is a good size and easy to manipulate. It takes up minimal counter space, and comes with a carrying case for trips. The charge lasts about a week, so no need to pack the base on business trips.
The brush, even without the app, guides you through a normal session with pauses and subtle buzzes. You get a zap when you are applying too much pressure, and a pause when it's time to change zones. So easy to use. There are settings for Clean, Whiten, and Deep Clean. Indicator led's tell the battery and Bluetooth status.
The app is extremely easy to set up. Get the app, follow the instructions. Done. Each time you lift the brush from the base, it connects to the phone. Open the app and follow instructions to clean and polish. Track your progress, show off to your dentist, but mostly--just feel REALLY clean teeth all day.
Oh, the app also tracks the wear of the brush heads based on time and pressure used, so you know when it's time to replace. The heads last about 90 days of twice daily 2+ minute sessions.

Fun but not must-have

Unless you just want a superbly capable voice-activated search engine at your disposal, Home is not particularly useful at this point. It is voice-command Google, arguably the best search engine available. It can tell you when the Empire State Building was completed and what the weather will be in Timbuktu. It cannot schedule reminders, add to your calendar, play the radio (no tuner), or make a to do list. Those are things I would find valuable. They are just not there---yet.
I have been intrigued by the "other" home assistant for a while, but really didn't see what the fuss was about. When Google announced their version it seemed more promising since I am a gmail, calendar, and google docs user already. I figured maybe Google would pull all my stuff together in an intuitive and helpful way. Unfortunately, I have not found that to be the case with Google Home. I don't have Chromecast devices, or a compatible smart thermostat, or any smart lightbulbs. It seems Home is useful only with the addition of several peripheral devices.
Yes, it looks like an air-freshener, but the build quality is top-notch. no rough edges or cheap feeling components. The led lights that ring the perfectly smooth top surface are stunning and informative, and the sound is pretty good for a small speaker. It's just not "all that" right now. I suspect it will learn and get updates to make it more useful, but I wouldn't rush out to get one as it is.

I work in construction and these are supposedly noise canceling, how good are they with the outside noise and wind?
Excellent noise cancelling. I was my car with the radio on full blast and could only hear the headphones.
