Perfect complement to EM-ESL and C2 front speakers

A bit heavier than I thought, or rather had it in my mind it'd be slightly heavier than the regular Motion Series cube surround speakers but not this heavy (16.5lbs).
But nonetheless these hefty surrounds mate perfectly with the rest of the Electro-Motion series line of speakers (my EM-ESL front left and right, the C2 center). Crisp and smooth and clear.
What's great about it: Mates perfectly with audio from the other EM series speakers
Learn moreabout Magnolia PremiumInstallation This center-channel speaker features dual 5-1/4" woofers and a Folded Motion XT tweeter to ensure crisp, robust audio. The push-style binding posts easily adapt to accept banana plugs for flexible installation options.
This Electro-Motion series new center channel speaker C2 (it just came out and I finally got it as there was a backlog from Magnolia Audio Video) is perfectly mated by Martin Logan to match the Electro-Motion series ESL speakers. The C2 now carries a bulk of the weight for dialogue and sound, and the ESLs are on standby for any peripheral or surround sound. It's a clean design and perfectly fits my home theater furniture. I have the Avion Espresso cabinet from BDIUSA.com that Magnolia Audio/Video sells as well.
And it gets its power from the speaker wire. No power source needed unlike the ESLs or even my sub-woofer (also an ML model - Dynamo 700). If you have ESLs get this one as your center channel!
What's great about it: Mates up well with the EM-ESL speakers, no power cord
Enjoy brilliant audio with this floor speaker that features an 8" high-excursion, doped fiber woofer cone for booming lows and a 34" Xstat Curvilinear Line Source (CLS) electrostatic transducer with 292 sq. in. of radiating surface for amazing sound.

Though I do not have an ear of an "audiophile", I know what sounds good to me, and the precise clarity, crispness of these speakers is amazing. This is my first ever true home theater speaker system. But what really drew my attention to this speaker is how this sound could eminate from this weird design called Electro-static. The weird XStat grill really amazed me. So I have this pair of speakers paired up with their Electro-motion center channel speaker C2 which is made for these, along with the Dynamo 700 sub-woofer.
To the average person they would say $2k is a lot but for high-end sound it's a great price. Playing TV, Blu-ray Discs or DVD or music streaming from my iPod, it sounds sweet. And yes I did break them all in at the required minimum of 72 hours, so now I can crank them up. And best of all, you don't really need that much power to run them. I use the Marantz SR7005 audio/video receiver to power these.
What's great about it: Sound and build quality for the price

These speakers replaced my defective Martin Logan Source. The ElectroMotions sound too bright and lack the warmth and deatil of other Logan's that I have owned. They look very good and need a lot less power to drive them, but this comes at a price with sound quality being compromised...I just do not understand what ML did here?

Same AVR

Glad you updated your review Golfer Adam. I too have the same AVR you do (Marantz SR7005) and I also broke them in for at least 72hrs on all 3 speakers (ESLs front left, right, center channel) and my sub-woofer. Glad you love them as I do.
