Maybe, just maybe, if you've never read the book you could enjoy this movie. For anyone else who has read the book it quickly becomes clear the director, producers, and anyone else involved on this film did not. Valentine is completely downplayed and Peter all but nonexistent. As such the ending is completely different, and ruined, compared to the novel. All characters besides Ender are downplayed and really only given lip service so they could say "hey I was in the movie". The pseudo love interest between Ender and Petra (the only other character given tons of focus) was non-canon and uninspired. Dialogue was copy/pasted by an idiot apparently so that things were out of context or made up entirely. They have the core elements of the novel, but none of the nuances that go along with it. I was absolutely disappointed with this film. They stretched a movie about someone walking to a volcano to destroy a ring out over three movies, they easily could have done the same here to preserve the novels integrity. Only semi-good thing; pretty scenery of space and planets.
The plot was very basic and linear with no real surprises along the way. The acting was nothing special, even from some of the bigger names in the flick. Lots and lots of action, however I'd say 90% or more was all CGI, and it didn't even look that great. I'm not really that impressed with a movie that is all digital unless it is a cartoon and suppose to be. So far, the first movie is still the best of the series.

Upgrading from a 36" LG to this 50" Samsung and while the picture is great, that is all I can say about it. Price was so-so, some models with larger screens where in the same range. Problems (1) I may be behind the times or something but I don't like my TV mounted on the wall, and as soon as I mounted this on the provided base plate you could see it tilts backward almost 20 degrees. It is not adjustable and as I'm not sitting higher than the TV it's not very viewable either. (2) I am a gamer. I have a Wii, XBox 360, and a DVD player that all work with AV IN cable connections. This TV however only has 1 AV IN connection whereas my LG has 4! It also has only 2 HDMI inputs and now I have to try and find some sort of adapter. These were not issues I expected to have with a brand new TV. In today's technology age how the heck can Samsung only put so few input connections on a TV?! Pain in the rear.

What's great about it: Nice picture.. if it could be seen since the base is warped.
What's not so great: Miserably small number of input connections.
I really hoped for and expected more out of this movie. The plot was decent but it wasn't dark and scary by any means. The sets/cgi were good, but the only good acting came from Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna. Chris Hemsworth wasn't even that great and seemed to have no chemistry with Stewart which made for some awkward scenes. Dakota Fanning would have made a much better Snow White.
