Excellent product for us old timers

I was not in the market for one of these, but the appearance of the product in person spoke to me. It's retro while being quite modern at the same time. In my teens I was a stereo nut, back in the days when you would buy "a la carte" a receiver, turntable, dual cassette deck, later on a single-tray CD player, and if you were really hip, an equalizer. Oh and of course, speakers. You would upgrade to bigger and better components as funds allowed. It was actually quite cool. Anyway, thirty some years later we have Bluetooth, and vinyl records are coming back to an extent. I still own tons of CD's and feel when they are re-digitized the quality suffers a bit. Just my opinion. So this system has a subwoofer that fires towards the bottom of the cabinet, and a very clean look and carefully assembled feel to it. The CD player slot within the digital display is nearly invisible. Pairing the Bluetooth to my phone was painless. There are NO inputs or outputs on the rear panel, save an antenna connection, and a 4 foot one is provided. The only knob I would have liked to see added would be for manual tuning. Instead of one giant volume knob, there could have been two smaller knobs for both purposes. And there is no AM band, minor detail. Compared to the LG and Sony systems that have giant displays, flashing lights, and buttons all over the place, this is rather Spartan. There are just five presets to the internal EQ. But this unit is a slam-dunk just for the utter simplicity and excellent sound quality for its size. It's not a bargain but fairly priced, and the quality is there. The remote has a nice tactile feel, just enough buttons to do what it has to do. Maybe nearing the 50 year-old mark isn't so bad after all.

Work, rest and play with this Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone. A 5-inch touchscreen delivers easy responses whether you are browsing online or typing a text, and the AMOLED technology delivers great visuals even when it's bright. A powerful quad-core processor lets you play games, study or use apps on this Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone.

I was still running on a Galaxy S3 when my boss kicked me off his cell plan and told me to get my own. I had the S3 for over 4 years and it was showing its age, and the selection of phones at AT&T store was limited unless you wanted to shell out $400 plus, and I despise Apple and own none of their products. This was a breeze to set up with Samsung Smart Switch. Excellent call clarity and screen resolution. The only maddening issue is NO "indicator" light on the front to let you know when a call is missed, text received, etc. If phone is sleeping you will never know something is pending. Seems like a silly omission, I mean my antique phone had it, so I just assumed this model would have it too. For $130 plus tax, then $5 to AT&T for a new SIM card, I was in business. Another caveat: Cases are hard to find, BB didn't stock one, wound up at a Verizon store and they actually had in stock a Speck clear case that fits nicely (even though this unlocked model will not work on CDMA carriers). Don't hesitate to buy this product, or its bigger cousin the Galaxy J7. I just find the bigger phones to be too clunky to fit in my back pocket and the size of this was just a smidgen bigger than my old S3.

I realize the appeal to this is that is doesn't have detachable speakers, but I was wondering if it IS POSSIBLE to hook up to detachable speakers or connect to wireless speakers? Thanks!

No outputs at all, just a "Line In" on the front panel. The only jack on the rear is an external FM antenna.

Can this connect to a TV so I can listen to TV via bluetooth headphones?

No, the only Bluetooth functionality is for pairing your phone or iPod. But you could use it as a TV soundbar, if you connect via the RCA Audio Out jacks of your TV and then utilize the "Line In" mini-headphone jack on the front panel.
