I have several Otterboxes and have always had huge success with them until today. I purchased an iPad Pro 10.5 with an Apple Pencil and an Otterbox Defender. I have come to find that the screen on the Otterbox Defender will not allow the iPad to recognize the Pencil. After looking at other cases I opted to modify my Otterbox by cutting the screen protector out with an X-acto knife. The screen protector was not the most important part of what the Otterbox offered so removing it to regain the use of my pencil was worth it in my case. I only wish they had realized this potential issue and gave the option to purchase the defender with or without the screen protector.
