Best starter gaming desktop for price.

Here is what you get, an AMD Ryzen R7 1700 octa-core processor paired with an Asus Prime B350m-a mother board, 16 gb of DDR4 Crucial Ballistix (1x 16gb) ram, an XFX Radeon RX 480 4gb Graphics Card and a 500 watt power supply. Thats a lot of stuff for 999$ ( or even for 1300 ).
PROS:
-The AMD Ryzen R7 1700 is a great value 8 core processor which has the ability to stable overclock to around 3.8 ghz with the stock set up. The gaming performance of the processor is nothing special, but it gets the job done with ease. Due to having 8 physical cores with 16 threads, it has more than enough raw power to render 4k videos, live stream, and push through 3d modeling programs. The processor alone in this setup is worth 1/4 of the total price easily. Now on to the graphics card, the mighty Radeon RX 480.
-This particular graphics card is one of the best performance per dollar gpu out there. The RX 480 that comes with this desktop is by XFX and comes in the 4gb varient. 8gb would have been preferred but it has enough power to push through any game at 1080p 60fps at high and ultra. Overclocking is also possible but may not always be stable with this particular gpu. Oh, might I add, the gpu fans are also exchangeable with XFX's Hard Swap fans.
-The motherboard on this model isnt some run of the mill motherboard. It is an AM4 socket microATX motherboard with 4 slots for ram and 1 PCI express slot for the gpu. It includes an extensive uefi bios with manual overclocking, memory timing, performance profiles and other goodies for the tech savy out there. The motherboard is also trimmed in a dim orange led that pulse.
-The power supply is a 500 watt generic psu from cybertronPC. Nothing special but gets the job done.
-Last but not least, fans... PLENTY of fan space. Up to 6 can be mounted and even has room for a liquid cooler radiator.
CONS:
-First off, the best buy specifications say that the system is equipped with RGB lighting. The only thing RGB about the whole thing is the CPU fan. This really does not bother me, since i prefer performance over looks
-Some sites lable this as a Mid Tower, but it only accepts up to Micro ATX motherboards.
-If you plan on intense overclocking and overhauling, Power supply unit may not be enough to power what you want.
-Micro ATX board is excellent, but only includes 1 PCI express slot... so no Crossfire or SLI support.
-Included accessories are lackluster. Mouse is great but the keyboard is questionable.
-Does not include display cables, you need a DVI or HDMI cable on hand to hook up to monitor
-Due to AMD Ryzen being a brand new architect, some optimizing issues may occur but that should be fixed in driver updates and bios updates.
All in all, the cons of this pc is relatively minor and the pros far outweigh them. This is an excellent rig packed in to a compact tower with plenty of upgrading potential and in summary, well worth the 1000$ i payed for.
I would recommend this to a friend!
