Not qualified for 2016 MacBook pro

I am very disappointed with this product. I purchased this product to use with my new MacBook pro. I plugged it in and was running the duet program with my iPad as well as charging through the USB-C port and the device began to overheat and smell as if it was burning. I took it out and the upon doing so realized the device was extremely hot. I am very unsatified with the product. Would not reccoment purchasing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
