Skeet Ulrich and Kristy Swanson star in the action packed thriller Soul Assassin. The film is presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and appears to be in excellent shape. Columbia Tristar has done a fantastic job of making sure the colors, black levels and flesh tones are all solid and accurately represented. Aside of a small amount of edge enhancement in the image, this transfer of Soul Assassin is very serviceable and should please fans. The soundtrack is presented Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English. The 5.1 mix on this disc is very bombastic with a multitude of directional effects utilized throughout the feature film. All aspects of this audio track are free and clear of any excessive hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround soundtracks in French and English, a Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo track in Spanish, and English subtitles. Soul Assassin features a few well-proudced supplements, starting with a commentary track by director Laurence Malkin. This is a very engaging commentary that sports a ton of production information about the film, the casting and the screenplay. A short "Making Of" featurette includes interviews with the cast and crew, as well as multiple slips from the film and behind-the-scenes footage. Finally there are some short interviews with the filmmakers, some cast and crew information, a short photo gallery of images from the film, a theatrical trailer for the film and bonus trailers for other straight-to-DVD Columbia Tristar movies.
