Completely flexible, this Lenovo 14-inch two-in-one notebook brings you tablet-like compactness with all the practicality of a laptop. A standard keyboard makes it easy to type, but when you want to display your work, configure this laptop into a tent shape. Use this Lenovo 14-inch two-in-one notebook as a tablet when you're out and about.

There's got to be better

This is a strong computer on paper, but in reality, it's not so hot. It makes me miss my dependable, logical Dell. All the specs measure up in this category, but it's a touchy, illogical device. What works? A good processor, great imagery, pretty responsive touchscreen, and the SS drive stands up to numerous shocks. It's quiet, it's cool, and the EMF reading is zero. What doesn't work? Well, for starters, the charger. I've gotten two, and the second one is as bad as the first. It simply falls out of the wall or extension cord. The slightest little shift in position, and you're no longer getting a charge. And despite all my efforts to set up the computer to hibernate when I close the lid, what happens is, when I next open the lid, the power is somehow already drained to below 20% (my alert level for a battery that needs to be recharged), I receive no warning (unless I deliberately look at the battery charger icon) that my laptop isn't properly charging until it just powers off completely, right in the middle of anything I'm working on. This happens almost daily. I'm so tired of this charger just falling out of a receptacle. Next, the touch pad. I don't like them, and I especially don't like the ones that close out my windows browser or any work I'm doing without warning if you touch it wrong. You can't disable it in settings. All you can do is keep hitting the F6 button each time you use the computer, as it resets back into play on every hibernation or screen closing, as far as I can tell. Third, the power button on the side of the machine. If you turn the machine to the right to read your screen in portrait mode (as I would do in reading an article or ebook) and stand it up, you power the machine off. Thank you very much. Why is it so hard to put a power button in a convenient spot, like the top of the keyboard? This machine tries my patience every time I use it. I'm adapting, and the mechanics work just fine, but I need a reduction in my stress level.

Lots of looks and features, but underpowered

This might work great for you, so I'll start with why I returned it after 3 days. I am an insurance agent, and I meet in people's homes, For the most part, I need to have many (up to a dozen) browser tabs open, and I need something light, slightly small (so the screen doesn't serve as a wall between me and my client), utterly dependable -- no stalling, no start-up lag time, no waiting for updates, no freezing, with long battery life. The Chromebook is exactly that, but the right one for me took some searching. My first Chromebook was the HP touch screen for $259. It was extremely dependable and worked just great, with excellent battery life. However, in my travels, I dropped it and broke the screen. I don't fault HP that it broke -- I twisted my ankle and it flew out of my hands onto the concrete sidewalk. I decided to see if there was a better option for me than the HP, as there were a couple of things I found frustrating with it. It handled the work with the 4GB RAM, but the touch screen wasn't super responsive (I can't stand touch pads, I feel like I'm trying to operate the machine with my knuckles, and I usually disable them for all their unintended consequences from accidentally touching them). The screen was a good size for allowing me to interact with clients, but between the unresponsive screen (which may be a real Chromebook software problem) and the small screen size making my fingers too big for the fine points I was trying to hit, I thought I'd look for better. I saw the reviews for the ASUS, and thought I'd try it. I thought the screen would be more responsive, but I was wrong. Here, the screen size was REALLY too small for the responsiveness I needed, and the thing was underpowered as well. After about 5 or 6 tabs were open, it couldn't handle more and simply closed out some, saying there wasn't enough memory available. The screen and touch pad often became completely unresponsive. In short, it just couldn't handle the work. I took it back right away and got the Samsung Chromebook Plus, which was worth every extra penny and works perfectly for my needs. If you can't afford the Chromebook Plus, pick something that has at least 4gb RAM unless you really don't need very many tabs open. The flip screen to tablet mode is nice, as the HP didn't have that, but I'd pick the HP over the ASUS any day for its responsiveness, dependability, and staying power.

With the reflection of time, I think that probably this can be a great device for the right user. It is very low priced with lots of bells and whistles. For the person who only opens a few browsers at a time, this would probably work well. I could recommend this product to someone who didn't have such high needs. A stylus can always be added to it, if those work for you. Even the Chromebook Plus has its limits (sometimes it can't handle very many open tabs), and it cost a great deal more. So, if I could change my rating of "no, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend", to "yes", I would, depending on the friend's needs.
