I really enjoyed the book and the newer version of the movie and wanted to view this first one too. Since I am a fan of Greer Garson & L. Olivier, I really loved how this story line was done as well.
What's great about it: All the great actors, entertaining and also, it was the first movie from the book.
What's not so great: Wish it could have been in technicolor.
Johnny Depp stars as the troubled man who just might be the greatest lover of all time in this exciting, feature-intensive release from New Line Home Video. Offering viewing options in both the original 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical version or standard 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan, this release also features an English Dolby Digital 5.1 audio mix in addition to an alternate French Dolby Digital Stereo mix and optional English, Spanish, and French subtitles. Abundant extra features include star highlights featuring clips from three other New Line films, original and international theatrical trailers, the Bryan Adams video "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?", an isolated stereo track of the original score, and cast and crew biographies and filmographies.
