This may be a book, but goes into all detail, because I was like you, questioning Vizio Mseries and whether or not it would be a good TV
-First off, I read, read and read reviews. I read them on here, rting, cnet, and other sites. I avoided listening to sales people, they will automatically take you out of a Vizio and talk you into a $600 more expensive TV. This TV beats out the competitor, Samsung (UN70KU6300FXZA) The Samsung scores much lower in many categorizes than this vizio, such as Judder, HDR quality, brightness, gaming/sports quality, etc. If you want top of the line, A+ across the board, than I suggest you spend another $1000.
-Honestly, most of the negative reviews has to do with the smartcast, I dont know why though, maybe its because Ive grown up with technology my whole life, but it is really simple to use. Maybe the people purchasing this are not used to streaming and Bluetooth technology. It does take a second to get used to and how to work the tablet, connecting it to the TV and then 'casting' from the tablet to the TV. The tablet immediately has to update, that takes about 1hr. The remote that comes with the TV is sufficient for changing inputs, volume, etc. Honestly, no one uses the regular remote anymore anyways, you use the one your cable provider gives you.
-Also, people complained that it does not have a built in TV receiver. Lets take a step back, I am pretty sure that if you are about to spend $1900 on a TV, you probably are not buying it so you can watch channels 3, 5 and 8 You probably have cable or stream TV. So that argument is irrelevant. I'll be streaming TV with play station Vue for live tv
-My only issues (thus far) with the Vizio is the sound, horrible. Will be purchasing a 5.1 (minimal) sound bar system. Sound is suffice if just regular watching TV, but if you having a party and watching a sports game, forget, you'll never hear it.
-Mine is wall mounted, very light, easy to mount.
-Plenty of ports, though USB is 2.0, kind of a bummer, but 1-4 HDMI are UHD HD and HDMI 5 for HDR (my xbox 1s will use that port)
-The Ethernet port (LAN) is really nice, directly tied to router for best internet speed, no issues streaming.
-Make sure to read on how to properly adjust settings, picture quality to avoid any chance of the 'soap opera effect' It takes sometime, but its worth it, you can find it on Rtings.com.
***Overall, this is the best TV for $2000, I snagged mine for $1700 (on sale) with free delivery. Picture quality is amazing, 4K amazing, judder is non-existent, sound is poor, plenty of ports, sleek looking, cool tablet for watching shows, youtube, surfing internet. 70" really is the tipping point on expensive Tvs, a 75-78" will run you about another $1000 easily
TV on review sites gives it an average of 7.8/10 (that is really high) This is rated higher than these competitors in same category:
Samsung KU6300 (same price)
Sony X850D (much more expensive)
LG UH8500 (ties) (much more expensive)
Yes, I would recommend this, feel free to ask questions.
I would recommend this to a friend!
