Stay away from this one

Sony has replaced this twice for us. We have had it less than a year. We are currently boxing Up the third one to send it back. All units have had the same issue. They won't power off, won't bring up the menu, freeze on the menu, or the software won't update. Normally we've had great luck with Sony products. Save yourself a lot of headaches and don't buy this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible product, do not buy

Third unit since initial purchase in April. Best Buy would not take this one back and would not refund my money. On the third one I dealt directly with Sony as Best Buy web site instructed. I returned the unit to Sony and received another unit that had the exact same issues as the previous two. Best Buy told me that I had to deal with Sony again! I do not support vendors that do not support their products or customers. I will no longer shop at Best Buy!

We purchased this Black Friday and today boxed up our third unit to send back to Sony. The customer service rep said they have gotten a lot of calls regarding this model. All three we've sent back had the same issue, won't turn off, menu won't come up, freezes on the menu if it does come up, and software won't update. Worst player we've ever owned.
