The XBR43X800D has an excellent Picture quality and sound quality is pretty good I prefer to use home theater speakers instead. No complaints with picture quality. As matter fact the XBR43X800D is 20 times better than my old tv Philips 40PFL4706 which was 20 times worse then the XBR43X800D. Only complaints negatives of this tv is it is little buggy running android tv os. Occasionally there will be a bug where there is no sound and I have to unplug reset the tv, another bug that happened was when I was in video app the tv crashed and restarted android boot up. So other than those bugs this tv is a great buy. For a mid range tv like the XBR43X800D it has hdr features a higher end 4k tv would have, so this tv is a steal :)
Oh one last thing here are my picture settings you can try and see if you like it.
Here are my best picture settings for XBR43X800D . I spent a lot of time calibrating this tv.
I use picture mode's Cinema Home and Game.
Light Sensor ON for deepest black levels
Brightness 28
Color 53 skin tone does not look too saturated which is good.

Make sure to disable noise reduction settings as it will make picture quality worse compress it if you will. From my experience the best quality brands are Sony, Samsung, LG, Vizio, and Panasonic. Now the worst tv brands avoid them at all costs, Philips, Sceptre, Hisense, Insignia, Coby, Haier, Element, TCL, WestingHouse, Toshiba, and Dynex. Let me know if I did not mention other worse tv brands. Also I got great deal best buy labor day sale on this tv open box excellent condition for $577 plus tax (I live in New Jersey) total $608. Again Very Satisfied with the XBR43X800D :)
