I purchased this player to replace a Sony Refurb. that I purchased(from Sony)in 2008,(back then they were starting to be hard to find, and the original production date was 2007) they are no longer available from Sony and checking amazon there are not many to choose from, mainly used. You many find a couple of refurbed(by outside source) and surprisingly did see new, but at double the price of this one.
Did see this Onkyo on amazon too, at the same price(also being the cheapest). I'm thinking of going back to purchase the protection plan, $25 for 4 years isn't bad and if something were to happen I'd kick myself for not getting it, especially with multi disc players being hard to find, new anyway.
