TV runs outdated software crashing roku apps

I purchased the 2015 model of this TV about a year ago. I've been very happy with the unit, it's been a very good performing TV at a low price point. As a result I've been pretty loyal to Best Buy and bough a large 4K TV for my vacation home before the summer. Today I went back to buy the updated model (this TV) for the bedroom. To my surprise the TV is running roku software that is OLDER than my TV I purchased a year ago. As a result some apps do not work (e.g. CNN) and as these are the apps I care about I now basically have a brick. I've already returned/replaced the TV in the store to no avail. I've decided to buy a roku device and connect it instead. Unfortunately Best Buy has lost my confidence and I will not be seeking to purchase from them again. This is just not acceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
