I purchased this camera before a trip to Alaska that demanded a good zoom lens. The product delivered on photo quality, ease-of-use and zoom ability.
What's not so easy is transferring your photos out of the camera. The only way to do this is via a wi-fi network, with a requirement that your wi-fi modem have a specific feature that mine doesn't have. After spending two unsuccessful hours trying to connect my desktop to the camera, I went another route and used the Canon Web service option.
While uploading photos to the "Gateway," I received an error message and was only able to transfer part of the photos, none of which are actually showing up in a Web-accessible format. The transfer was also extremely slow and wore out my battery before it was complete.
It would be nice to have an easier, less clunky and seemingly outdated way of uploading photos. Still working on this, but I first have to recharge the battery in order to continue troubleshooting. It would be great if this camera had a simple USB cable transfer option instead of relying solely on wi-fit.
My advice would be to make sure you have the proper wi-fi modem before buying this product, and not assume that wi-fi capability is automatic just because you have wi-fi. I wish I'd had more time to investigate the details for the SX720 or I would have purchased a camera with a superior and way easier cable transfer option.
