Keep your room cool with this Vornado Silver Swan small room fan. The oscillating head tilts to let you aim the flowing air, and the carry handle lets you move the fan between rooms easily. This Vornado Silver Swan small room fan's streamlined Art Deco design makes it a beautiful addition to your home.

An all metal fan that will last
on April 24, 2017

I received this fan as a gift recently (the new Vornado Silver Swan S oscillating fan) as an early birthday present. My friends know that I like things that have a retro look and that are built to last. Vornado made one somewhat like it years ago, but stopped manufacturing it for some reason. Anyway, I received the fan and was really surprised how well made it was, and how heavy it is. It's all metal construction and is built like things were made decades ago. Since it has that vintage look I placed mine on an old three legged claw footed round table that my parents had when I was a child almost sixty years ago. They owned an original Silver Swan oscillating fan that sat in the middle of this table on a scarf that my Mother had made. I placed mine on that very same table not far from an air conditioning vent. Now when the AC kicks on the Silver Swan S circulates the air over a room that is 24'X38' it has nine windows in it, and is on the south side of the house. That room gets extremely warm during the summer months. It just has three AC vents in the floor, and the ceiling is 9' high. So placing this fan at the end of the room the farthest away from a window but right near a vent it circulates and cools that room like no plastic fan ever has. I do have sheers on the windows to keep out direct sunlight. But this 12" Vornado has made all the difference in the world. I have an Acurite digital thermometer/humidity reader at the opposite end of the room at about the same height as the fan. Since getting the fan and using it on the few warm days we've had so far, it has made a big difference. When we first go into the room to watch TV after dinner, I will turn it on medium speed for about thirty minutes. It will then bring down the temperature four to five degrees then I turn it down to low speed. The blades being made of a good quality metal and they have a very deep pitch to them it really moves the air as to where a person at the other end of the room about 36' away can fell a nice slight breeze all around them they have told me. I can't wait until it gets hot this summer. I'll run it on high speed and see how much cooler it will make that room. It had a ceiling fan in the center of the room when I bought the house, but it only made the room hotter in the summer to us, so I took it down and replaced it with a nice dimmable light. I am thinking about buying another one for another part of the house. It's a little heavy so you don't have to worry about it tipping over. The front grill comes off easily and so does the blade to make cleaning a breeze. It's very quiet even on high. Oh, it's not silent on high but you don't get that roaring sound like you do with a plastic fan. The oscillation is very smooth like the old fans used to be. I must say that it is very well made and I believe will last a longtime if taken care of. And it comes with a 5 year warranty from Vornado. That's unheard of these days. And the sound of the air rushing through the blades when it's on medium speed is the most relaxing white noise. I stretch out on the sofa in the afternoon, turn the Vornado SSS on medium and I fall asleep in five to ten minutes. My neighbor said the same thing. He said he was going to buy one when it got a little warmer. Not me. I'm going to buy one in the next week or two. They may be sold out of them when the weather turns off hot. I don't think you will go wrong buying this fan. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for my Mother always said. It's a shame they don't sell them in the stores. Everything is online. They would sell a lot more of them if they were on a working display in dept. stores. It was a grand early birthday present and much appreciated.

I would recommend this to a friend!
