Won't display 4K

I can't complain about the price, I got it on a Black Friday deal for $199.99. The problem is, it won't go past 1080. I tried using my NVIDEA computer graphics card "Change Resolution" option in the NVIDEA Control Panel and it wouldn't even Customize past that 1080 resolution. The program was coming back saying the monitor wasn't capable of that resolution so I went to "Interfacelift.com" and downloaded some 3840 X 2160 4K wallpapers and loaded them on to my thumbdrive along with some 1920 X 1080 photos and then put the thumbdrive on the TV's USB port. The TV displayed the 1080 files fine but would not even recognize the 4K photos. The manual (that I had to download since it didn't come with the TV) said that the TV can display images up to 4096 X 4096 but with a filesize limit of 6MB so I checked the file sizes of the images I had on the thumb drive and only 3 of the 4K photos was over 6MB so I still had ten files under that limit but it still wouldn't show them. I have looked through the manual and can't find any information on how to force the TV to 4K. It seems like I only bought a decently priced 1080 TV and NOT what is advertised.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
