Good basic phone

I only need a phone to make calls and the occasional text message and this fits the bill. My biggest gripe is the voice recognition. It rarely works, requiring me to manually dial when using my headset, very annoying.
What's great about it: Makes calls without drama
What's not so great: Voice recognition is terrible, touch screen too sensitive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not a great gaming device

While this is a good trackball, it was purchased for my son to use as a gaming device due to a lack of space. After a week of trying his best to get used to it, he decided to return to a gaming mouse.
What's great about it: Decent trackball for everyday use
What's not so great: Not good for gaming
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Product

After giving my wife this unit for Christmas, it has been used non-stop by the 4 coffee drinkers (and 1 teetotaler) in our family for nearly 100 cups of beverages. It has performed flawlessly in producing coffee (multiple varieties), tea and hot chocolate. It has also been used occasionally to produce hot water for cup-a-soup. It gets 10 thumbs up from my family.
What's great about it: Great for families who like many different beverages
I would recommend this to a friend!

This unit was difficult to install and performed poorly when it did work. We have 2 older laptops that constantly lost connection to the unit. Only one, new system stayed connected with any regularity. The setup was cumbersome and overly complicated and I have been doing this for a while.
What's great about it: Nothing
What's not so great: Everything
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good for a student
By Mary from Federal Way, WA
I am a full-time student and wouldn't you know, in finals week, my ACER laptop charging system burned up. Fortunately, the hard drive survived. I had to purchase a PC fast and it had to be in stock at my local Best Buy. Ideally, I would have spent more than a couple hours researching this, but I was in a bind. This laptop had 750GB HD, AMD A8 processor, a touch screen. All at a pretty decent price. $430.
I like the keyboard. The buttons are larger than my ACER and there is more space for my wrists to rest on as I type. I have not found out how or if I can disable the touch pad. My ACER had a button next to the touch pad that I could disable/enable easily. That said, the touch pad is sensitive and responsive.
So far, the touch screen seems to be a gimmick. Still looking for how I will be able to use this feature.
I wish I had known to look for a laptop with W7. W8.1 seems to be more about linking you to shopping websites. I found a program called Classic Shell. It helps mimic the W7 GUI. It gives me back the use of the Start button and a familiar menu tree populated with Control Panel and Program Files.
The bad is there is a red dot on the screen. I would return it for this, but I have already loaded my Student MS Office 2013 for one PC and used up my third license for Kaspersky. To return it now would cost me too much out of pocket money.
After I finish my degree and get my job, I may give this to the grandkids and buy something else. But, for now, it serves my basic computing needs.
